What is the role?

This role sits within the RAF Museum’s Midlands Development Programme which will transform our museum and our impact on the local community though a series of phased projects – engaging audiences who may not obviously identify with the RAF story by finding common interests and histories which link them. As part of this project, we are planning a new learning centre, outdoor spaces, collections hub and major exhibition.

The RAF Museum is looking for a small team of Communications and Marketing Volunteers. The role can be based in Cosford , Stafford or London, with the option to assist remotely. This person will volunteer alongside the Communications and Marketing team and is suited to someone interested in content creation and social media, has good writing and communication skills, and is keen to assist with a wide range of exciting filming, promotional, news and event opportunities.

What will I be doing?

You will be assisting the Communications and Marketing team with a range of activities, including:

• Using the Museum collections to create social media posts
• Creating video content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and X including captions so content is accessible
• Drafting social media posts for multiple platforms (including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X and Blue Sky), dependent upon the subject/content

· Meeting with staff onsite to develop ideas for stories

· You will be invited to attend events or interview staff and other professionals involved in the Midlands Development Programme

· Develop written and video blogs based on content from either our Midlands site, our stored collection in Stafford, or content in London related to the Midlands Development Programme

· Capture photos to support blog posts and general marketing campaigns

· Assist with updating content on the Museum’s website

· Support the team by hosting media visits and attending events both on and off-site

• Assist with research and content planning, by identifying awareness days, RAF and other relevant anniversaries, and trending topics to help build the content calendar
• Adapt existing blogs, videos and stories into short-form social posts, newsletters or LinkedIn content
• Assist with the analysis of campaigns
• Submit draft content to the team for sign off and publication of content.

This role is perfect for you if you…

· Love social media and are full of ideas

· Are confident tailoring content to multiple platforms

· Have good copywriting skills with a good level of spelling, grammar and proof-reading, as well as having a creative flair for producing engaging copy

· Can work quickly and efficiently, without compromising on quality

· Have access to computer/laptop/tablet/phone, with internet connection to be able to work at the Museum (Midlands or London), our stored collection in Stafford, or remotely from home

· We can offer you informal training and guidance in all these areas.

How much time would I need to commit?

This is a flexible role in terms of days and hours, depending on the projects and activities taking place at the Museum which require communications support. Many of the content projects can be done at a time and pace mutually agreed.

Key Responsibilities

·Research and identify funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, institutional donors, corporate partners and philanthropic organisations.

·Build and maintain relationships with prospective funders, partners and supporters.

·Generate new fundraising leads through networking, outreach and relationship building.

·Manage funding opportunities from initial prospect through to successful award.

·Maintain an active pipeline of funding opportunities using our CRM and AI-powered fundraising platform.

·Represent Project Yananai professionally with donors, corporate partners and external stakeholders.

About You

·You may come from a charity fundraising, business development, partnerships, sales, account management, corporate relationship management or marketing background.

The Instructional Quality Assessor supports the continued growth and development of Roots instructors by reviewing workshop delivery and assessing teaching quality using the established QA system and framework.

The reviewer provides clear, constructive, and actionable feedback to help instructors strengthen their teaching, engagement, delivery, and overall effectiveness with students on university campuses. The role is intended to be developmental—identifying strengths while highlighting practical areas for continued improvement.

Review Commitment: Approximately three workshop reviews per month, covering one workshop/campus per review, with feedback documented through the QA framework.

The overall goal is to maintain a consistent standard of teaching across campuses while helping each instructor continually develop and grow as an effective educator.

Key tasks

• Review assigned instructor workshops (in-person or via recordings) and evaluate delivery using the established QA framework and criteria.

• Document clear, constructive, and actionable feedback, highlighting both strengths and areas for improvement.

• Identify specific opportunities to help instructors improve their teaching, student engagement, communication, and classroom presence - through seminars or training workshops. 

• Develop Professional Development Plans to monitor the progress and help instructors grow as mentors for students. 

What we’re looking for

• Experience or a strong background in education, pedagogy, teaching, or teacher development.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field is considered a strong asset.

• Experience teaching or working within Islamic educational environments, particularly with youth or university-aged students.

• Some level of formal or traditional Islamic studies training is preferred.

• Previous experience in teacher evaluation, instructional coaching, classroom observation, or Quality Assurance (QA) is considered an asset.

• Strong ability to observe and assess teaching practices and provide clear, constructive, and actionable feedback.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide feedback professionally and respectfully.

 Role summary

To assist with the picking, packing and despatching of New Goods orders to all St Helena shops, via the Donation Centre delivery operation. 

 Main duties of the role 

  • Assist with the picking and packing of New Goods stock, preparing it for pick-up via the Donation Centre delivery drivers

• Assist with the unpacking of goods from outside suppliers

• Assist with stock takes and spot checks

• Use a computerised stock management system to maintain accurate weekly and monthly stock reports

• Assist with keeping the stock room tidy and clean

• Managing and reporting damaged stock according to company procedures

• Ad hoc printing, laminating etc when required

• Work as part of a small but busy team.
