Amy’s Place is a partnership between the Amy Winehouse Foundation and Clarion Housing, providing supported living accommodation for young women aged 18-30 in recovery from drugs, alcohol and other addictive behaviors.
As a great communicator with ‘green fingers’ you will create a calm, nurturing environment in which to support the residents to gain gardening skills and to explore the possibility of growing their own food.
Activities
Inspire the residents to take an interest in the outdoor space at Amy’s Place and involve them in the development of a regular gardening and/or food growing club.
Help residents to develop their gardening skills and knowledge specific to growing food, through group workshops and individually tailored support, guidance and encouragement.
Commitment
This is a flexible opportunity and volunteering times and frequency will vary depending on the volunteer’s availability and the needs of the residents. It might be every week or fortnight ideally for a minimum of 3 months.
Requirements
This role will require us to carry out an enhanced check through the disclosure and barring service.
Support
- Volunteers receive a thorough induction and have access to any relevant in-house and external training
- Reasonable travel and lunch expenses will be reimbursed

Overview of the role
We are seeking three or four individuals to be active members, and maybe a future Vice-Chair, of our Board of Trustees, working collaboratively with other trustees, staff, volunteers, and stakeholders to help the Foodbank in pursuit of its Vision and Strategic Plan. The Trustee will also be expected to lead on certain areas and initiatives, as required by the charity, and which utilises the Trustees experience and skills.
Volunteering is a fantastic way for you to be involved in your local community and volunteers are at the heart of all that we do as a Foodbank. The role of volunteers who dedicate their time and skills to support people in crisis will continue to be critical as we work together to fulfil our vision of seeing a UK without the need for Foodbanks.
Key Tasks:
· ensure that Stratford Upon Avon Foodbank complies with and pursues its objects as defined in its governing document, charity and company law, and other relevant legislation or regulations
· ensure that the Foodbank applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objects
· give firm strategic direction to the Foodbank contributing to the Foodbank’s strategic plan, helping set policies, defining goals, setting targets, and evaluating performance against agreed targets
· appoint the Foodbank manager and monitor their performance
· safeguard the good name and ethos of the Foodbank
· ensure the effective and efficient administration of the Foodbank
· lead and/or serve on sub-committees and attendance at various other meetings, including with the charity’s staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.
· ensure an understanding of, and commitment to, the principles of equality, equity, diversity and inclusion
It is hoped that Trustees will also undertake additional work for the charity between meetings subject to their availability and skill set.
About you:

Community Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers (CARAS) is a registered charity that has been supporting refugees and asylum-seekers since 2002 empowering them to integrate and engage in the local community.
Arriving as an asylum seeker/refugee can be a disempowering experience. Difficulties with language, accessing services and overcoming prejudice are ever-present. As an organisation we are committed to work alongside refugees to overcome those challenges, and to help them build their lives.

About Youth ESOL:
Our award-winning ESOL project offers English language classes to young people at a wide range of levels. This provides vital skills, opportunities and social contact and is crucial for enabling young people to do well at school or college.
About the Role:
CARAS is looking for Reading Group Volunteer to support our face-to-face study programme for young people.
The reading group is in Streatham and is an important element of a study programme for young people aged 14 to 18 who are out of formal education. The timings of the reading group sessions are as follows:

Monday afternoons 2pm to 3pm
-
Wednesday mornings 11am to 1pm.
Volunteers are required to attend either one of both sessions. Volunteers are also welcome to stay and support the more traditional English language classes either before the reading session on Mondays or after the reading session on Wednesdays.
Students will be supported to read at length and complete challenges that are adapted to their ability level.
The reading group aims to foster independence and a joy of reading among the young people and requires volunteers to learn about the young peoples' interests in order to help them select an appropriate text.
The ESOL teacher will provide volunteers with tips to support reading and understanding for emerging learners of English, such as phonics and elicitation strategies.
Volunteers will work with 1-5 students, mostly reading out loud with them or helping them to decode unfamiliar language.
Please note that ESOL classes do not run during school holidays, and we follow Wandsworth Council term dates.
Volunteer tasks and responsibilities:

Providing learners with one-to-one or small group support within the Reading Group sessions;

Helping to set up the classroom and provide learners with classroom resources;

Contributing to debriefs to inform the ESOL teacher how each student found the lesson/task and the students’ areas of greatest challenge and success;

Making use of any community languages you may know to help students during the class;

Working collaboratively as a team and helping to shape the project;

Who we are
Picture this: a person in prison who struggles with literacy and numeracy reads their first sentence, they write their first letter home to their children or completes their first numeracy task. They begin to imagine a future beyond the prison walls.
This is what happens when someone learns with Shannon Trust, and it happens thousands of times each year across prisons in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Currently, 65% of people in prison can’t read, or struggle to. Even more struggle with numeracy.
These are not just statistics; they represent people who have been locked out of opportunity, who struggle with daily tasks, such as helping their children with homework or filling out a job application. At Shannon Trust, we believe everyone deserves the chance to learn, and that literacy and numeracy skills help build the foundations upon which people can rebuild their lives.
Where we are now
Shannon Trust has experienced remarkable growth over recent years. We have gone from a team of twelve people to one hundred staff today, supported by a volunteer base that brings us close to 250 people working to change lives through learning. The core of what we do is one-to-one peer mentoring in prisons. In 2025 alone, more than 11,000 learners used our reading and numeracy programmes, with 2,000 new volunteer peer-mentors trained to support them. We work in around one hundred prisons across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, delivering our Turning Pages reading programme and Count Me In numeracy programme. We are increasing our reach into the community, too. This growth is the result of sustained focus, strong relationships with funders who believe in our work, and the proven impact of our peer-led learning model.

The Portuguese Red Cross in Guimarães supports the local community through a wide range of voluntary activities focused on social inclusion, education, health, and youth engagement.
Volunteers will be involved in several impactful projects, including:
- Supporting elderly people through digital inclusion and companionship
- Promoting healthy lifestyles and safety awareness among children and teenagers
- Assisting in shelters for homeless individuals and long-term care patients

Volunteers will stay in a shared house near the city centre, just a short walk from the Red Cross headquarters. The house includes shared bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, bathrooms, and a terrace. Volunteering hours will not exceed 35 hours per week, and volunteers are entitled to two consecutive days of rest. While most weekends are free, occasional weekend activities may take place.

About the role:
We are currently seeking qualified, women solicitor, barrister and qualified legal executive volunteers to provide legal advice on our Sexual Harassment at Work (Employment Law) advice line. All volunteering is done remotely and you must be qualified to practice in England and Wales.
What will you be doing?
Our free telephone advice line provides vital legal advice for women experiencing sexual harassment at work, supported by legal advisors with experience in employment, discrimination and harassment law. We offer a safe space for women to talk about their situation and receive expert legal advice to enable them to make important decisions about their future.
We ask all our volunteers to:
- Provide advice on our advice lines for one 2-hour session a month (minimum);
- Attend the induction training session provided by Rights of Women;
- Give clear and accurate legal advice to callers;
- Be non-judgemental and non-discriminatory in their approach;
- Follow our procedures for making records of calls and obtaining monitoring information;
- Keep up to date with the law for the relevant advice lines;
- Attend all agreed advice line sessions (remotely);
- Inform us as soon as possible if they are unable to attend an agreed session;
- Abide by Rights of Women’s procedures, standards and policies, including equal opportunities and confidentiality in relation to staff, volunteers and users.

The qualifications and skills we look for in a volunteer are:
- A woman solicitor, barrister or CILEx member;

Do you live in Merseyside? Do you want to be the difference between a life saved and a life lost? We're now recruiting for Community First Aiders across Merseyside (including Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley and St Helens)
The succesful candidate would be expected to attend their Network's meeting on a regular basis, as well as attend all training required for the role (typically a weekend plus additional e-learning). In addition, due to the nature of the role, Community First Aiders must commit to a minimum of 80 hours per year delivering first aid at events and community engagement.
Once shortlisted, candidates will be invited to attend a selection centre at our Liverpool HQ, which is likely to take place in early February.
Successful candidates will be invited to an induction day upon completion of their screening for role. This is expected to be in late March, but is dependent on completion of screening checks.
Training for role will consist of a weekend of face to face training, which is likely to be run in late March or early April (again dependent on completion of screening checks).

Volunteering in the shop
Our Lymington Shop Volunteers will be in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.
It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

Job Description
We are seeking four new Trustees to join our Board. This application process is rolling, meaning there is no deadline - so please enquire and apply sooner rather than later! We anticipate the process will conclude in mid-2026.
Who are we?
We are a disability-led arts organisation which works to improve access to culture for disabled people by providing opportunities for disabled creatives, training cultural institutions to be more open to disabled people, and through running participatory arts and development programmes.
Our programmes have run for fifty years, supporting disabled creatives and those facing disabling barriers to creative careers or audience participation. Our current programme finds us opening new avenues for disabled creatives through commissioning, exhibitions, and learning-based support such as residencies, advice, and guidance.
We continue to break new ground in digital spheres and advocating for disabled people struggling to access the arts and creative industries through our consultancy services.
We work across three main areas:
- A creative programme, working directly with disabled creatives
- Heritage projects, documenting the social history of disabled people
- Access consultancy, including training and auditing
We receive funding from Arts Council England and the Heritage Lottery Fund to support our creative programme and heritage projects.
We are recruiting disabled and non-disabled voluntary Board members. As a member of our Board, you will gain an insight to how the arts and cultural industries in the UK work. Job Requirements
The Board and Shape's Executive Team meet four times a year - once every three months. Each meeting takes up about half a day.
In addition, Trustees are expected to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the yearly Away Day, both of which happen once per year.

Job Responsibilities
Our team of Trustees are responsible for ensuring that:
- Shape complies with its Memorandum and Articles of Association, and that it pursues only the objectives which are defined in it
- Shape complies with charity law, employment law and other relevant legislation or regulations
- Shape is financially viable
- the Board is defining goals and setting targets for the organisation, and that performance is evaluated against these targets
- Shape's ethos and reputation are safeguarded
- Administration is effective and efficient and we are accountable to our stakeholders and funders
The Board are also responsible for:
- Contributing to the Board's role in giving firm strategic direction
- Appointing the Chief Executive and monitoring their performance
- Sitting on appraisal, recruitment and disciplinary panels, as required
- Attending either the Finance, HR and Risk, or Programme and Development Sub Committees

We are seeking new trustees to strengthen our Board and help shape the future of vital services for older people across our three boroughs.
We are looking for dedicated, passionate people, of all ages, with a range of professional and life experience, to join the Age UK RBH Board of Trustees.
You'll join a trustee team with a vast amount of personal and professional experience across a whole range of fields. You’ll be warmly welcomed, participate fully in the governance of our charity and all that entails, and supported to develop your skills.
We'd love to hear from you whether you're an experienced trustee or have never been one. It's just important that you're passionate about creating a fair and equal society for older people and can embody our values.
What we are looking for:
· Previous committee experience and abilities to work in a team
· Professional or voluntary skills and experience covering areas such as supporting older people, caring, finance, communication, property, Human Resources.
· People who live in one of our 3 core boroughs or work or have family connection to one of them or an interest in supporting older people in Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham and Havering
· Commitment to diversity and inclusion
It is not essential to be an older person yourself (due to a majority of older people on the existing board).
We are particularly keen to recruit trustees with experience in one or more of the following areas that are underrepresented on our board:
· Legal – governance, compliance, contracts, safeguarding
· Human Resources – workforce development, wellbeing, organisational culture
· Local Authority/Public Sector – commissioning, partnership working, policy insight
· Data and Digital – evidence‑based decision making, data governance, innovation
· Social Enterprise/Business Development – income generation, sustainability, entrepreneurship
· Commissioning and Contract Management – strategic commissioning, outcomes framework

Time commitment
There are six Board of Trustees Meetings in the year usually on a Friday afternoon and additional training days as required.

Volunteer Board Member (Director)
ArtClusiv is seeking an experienced and committed board member to help guide our mission and shape our long term impact. This role is ideal for someone with leadership experience in the arts, community development, creative industries, nonprofit governance, or cultural equity work.
Role Overview
As a board member, you will provide strategic oversight and help ensure that ArtClusiv continues to grow in a focused, values driven direction. Your guidance will support our goals of increasing visibility, strengthening partnerships, and securing funding to expand our programmes and opportunities for BIPOC creatives.
You will work closely with the founder and fellow directors to advise on organisational development, sustainability, grant applications, stakeholder engagement, and ethical governance.
Key Responsibilities
• Offer strategic advice to help shape the long term direction of ArtClusiv
• Support funding strategy and help identify grant opportunities and partnership prospects
• Provide oversight on governance, risk management, and community accountability
• Champion the mission and act as an ambassador for ArtClusiv in your networks

Once we have completed your selection and screening for this role, we will provide you with an induction, as well as invite you to any necessary training sessions. What you can expect from SJA, and what we expect from those who volunteer with us, is included in the volunteer charter.
All volunteers to take part in the delivery of the session they would be expected to assist in the delivery. For example attending a BLS with AED session before supporting this in the community.
All community volunteers will be invited to attend an interview either in person or via teams with a panel formed of a hiring manager, member of the network and a nominated member of youth. There will be further

The location of these are to be confirmed for the mid program sessions (In Marsden village) and any running up to this will be conducted at the Huddersfield Hub. Each welcome event will include an interview, an introduction to the network as well as CPR practice.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.
