Tandem Pilot Love cycling? Want to share the ride?

As a Tandem Pilot, you’ll team up with a blind or partially sighted person to enjoy the freedom of cycling together. You don’t need tandem experience — just confidence on a bike, clear communication, and a sense of adventure!

BucksVision provides the tandem bikes, and you’ll provide the power, guidance, and friendship that make every ride possible.

Where & when?

Milton Keynes — Monday, Friday, or Saturday mornings.

Change a life. Mentor a Fatherless Boy. 

Who are we? 

At Chapter2, a Reading-based charity that mentors fatherless boys through a network of 1:1 male volunteers. Our mentoring is long-term and activity based in order to develop meaningful trusted relationships that can have a positive impact on a boy's life. 

What sort of person are we looking for? 

If you are a man living within a 45-minute drive of Reading, Berkshire, then we’d love to hear from you. We recruit, train and match men with boys aged 8 - 16 that do not have a healthy male role model. Our mentoring is activity-based, and we match mentees with a mentor based on their shared interests. You will be committed to walking alongside your mentee for a minimum of 2 years; meeting him for 1-2 hours a week/fortnightly. Most of the mentoring is doing normal activities a father might do with his son ie go for a bike ride, kick a football around, take a walk, etc. We also offer montly group activities that you and your mentee can access for free. In the past these have included paintball, laser tag, bushcraft, footgolf, beach day, go karting, rock climbing, etc. 

What do we offer you? 

You will receive high-quality training at the beginning of your mentoring journey, as well weekly check-ins from your mentor manager, who will support you throughout your time as a mentor.  Additional training is also provided throughout your mentoring journey. Most activities mentors do with their mentees is free, but we do cover some expenses if an activity has an associated cost.

The safeguarding and well-being of our mentees is of the utmost importance, and applicants will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check and, where necessary, an overseas background check.

Successful applicants will also be required to complete Basic Safeguarding training.

In this role, you will be:

• Delivering talks to groups of sighted people about your lived experience of sight loss to challenge their perceptions and behaviours. Audiences will vary but may include local businesses, community, faith and voluntary groups.

• Making links with your own existing groups and networks in your local community that may want to be involved in reducing barriers to blind and partially sighted people.
• Building relationships with people or local businesses you know.
• Taking part in and sharing information about specific campaigns and initiatives to help remove barriers to blind and partially sighted people.
• Delivering talks on behalf of RNIB’s Social Action Team.

What you’ll be doing:
• Giving talks to groups of people to raise awareness of sight loss in your local community by sharing your story to audiences, for example, local businesses, community and voluntary groups.
• Delivering Talks to raise awareness of RNIB services as a trusted source of support for blind and partially sighted people

• Representing RNIB as an Ambassador for the Community Connection service

About the Role

The Family Mediation Department at Talk, Listen, Change (TLC) is growing nationally to ensure separated parents can access publicly funded mediation. Our volunteers play a vital role in making sure families get the help they need — at one of the most challenging times in their lives.

We're looking for committed and compassionate volunteers to support the legal aid application process at our Manchester Head Office. This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference and develop valuable administrative skills.

Volunteer Responsibilities

• Contact clients to explain what income evidence is required for legal aid
• Sending clear guidance to clients on what documentation is required
• Check submitted documents for completeness and accuracy
• Provide support and clarification if documents are missing or incorrect
• Upload documents to our CMS
• Forward documents to the Head of Department for review
• Liaising with admin team to move cases forward for Mediation Information Assessment Meetings (MIAMs)

What We’re Looking For

• Good communication skills and attention to detail

• Previous experience of playing, coaching or leading badminton sessions.

• A recognised sports coaching or fitness qualification is desirable (this does not need to be badminton-specific), or relevant experience leading sports sessions.

Join FARA, a charity with over 30 years of experience and 39 charity shops across London. Our Chiswick shop is looking for a dedicated Clothes Repair Volunteer to support our team in preparing donated clothing for sale through basic repairs, alterations, and garment care.

By volunteering with us, you’ll play an important role in extending the life of donated clothing, reducing textile waste, and supporting our commitment to reuse and a sustainable circular economy.

The Role: 

As a volunteer, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Repairing donated clothing, including sewing buttons, fixing hems, and mending minor tears
• Assessing garments to identify repair needs
• Carrying out basic alterations where appropriate
• Ensuring repaired items are presented to a high standard for sale
• Supporting the team in maintaining quality standards for donated clothing
• Organising and sorting garments as required
• Assisting with other shop activities when needed

The Volunteer: 

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has sewing skills and enjoys clothing repair or alteration
• Has a good eye for detail and garment quality
• Is friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic
• Is reliable and able to work as part of a team
• Knowledge of brands, materials, or collectable items is a plus, but not essential
• Previous experience with sewing, tailoring, dressmaking, or textile crafts is desirable but not essential
