• Building relationships with the regional and national SSAFA team, local voluntary organisations and, if applicable, SSAFA serving community teams, local military establishments, etc.
• Attending events as a key SSAFA representative.
• Providing timely reports and information to SSAFA’s central office
• Overseeing a programme of meetings including an AGM, branch meetings, committee meetings, training etc.
• Working with other volunteers, regional and national team members to attract and recruit new volunteers as required.
• Work closely with the community engagement co-ordinator to recruit, welcome, induct, support, and manage volunteers in line with SSAFA policies, such as the Volunteering Policy, Volunteer Code of Conduct, Data Protection Policy, and Safeguarding Policy.

Why does this role matter to Human Appeal?

Volunteers are an essential part of Human Appeal’s impact. They help create meaningful change for communities most in need. As a Programmes Data Entry Intern, you will contribute directly to the effectiveness of our international work by helping us preserve, organise, and maintain key programme information. This role offers the chance to gain professional experience, develop valuable skills, and support a humanitarian cause that truly makes a difference.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Programmes Data Entry Intern to support the International Programmes Department in digitising historical project files and ensuring the accuracy of programme records.

Main Tasks Include:

• Digitising and organising historical programme documents and project files.
• Entering, updating and maintaining accurate data in programme databases.
• Assisting with general administrative tasks to support programme workflows.
• Supporting the team in reviewing and verifying information for past programme reports.

Knowledge / Experience / Skills Required:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• A good understanding of or interest in humanitarian and development work.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem‑solving skills and the ability to identify data inconsistencies.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is desirable.
