Without the passionate and committed teams of volunteers across Cats Protection we wouldn’t be able to help the thousands of cats and kittens each year that rely on us for help. Life in a rescue environment is never ideal for any cat compared to a loving home. Our cat adoption team leaders support cat homing and as part of this they may lead a team of volunteer home visitors who collectively play an important part in matching our feline friends with their new families. Our cat adoption team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

What we need from you

You’ll be:

• Acting as the main point of contact within the team for cat adoption enquiries via email/telephone and social media
• Supporting the adoption process through either homefinder questionnaires or a small team of home visitors
• Liaising closely with other volunteers to ensure information on cats being helped is correct and up to date
• Following up on any post-adoption queries
• Play an active part in the volunteer committee, being part of the team leading on cat adoption information and updates
• Collaborating with the cat welfare team leader to ensure the highest standards of cat care are applied in line with Cats Protection policy and procedures

Time expectation

The cat adoption team leader role is vital within our busy volunteer teams. Our current volunteers spend around 10 to 12 hours per week in this flexible role, which can be shared by more than one volunteer if required.

The Health Hub, in partnership with BrisDoc, provides access to healthcare for women who street sex work.

On Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesday the women can see a specialist nurse, sexual health nurse, and GP. Women can also access the things they need like clothing and hot food. 

Hairdresser- Health Hub volunteer: Role Description  

As part of the women’s access to health care we would like to offer free haircuts during Health Hub to the women, to help them with self-confidence and promote self-care.

We are looking for a qualified hairdresser to run a drop-in clinic for the women once a month on a Tuesday. 

This post is open to women only, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010. Following the recent Supreme Court judgment, this part of the Equality Act now means we may only consider applications from women who were assigned female at birth for this role. We welcome applicants to get in touch with us if they’d like to discuss this further.

Commitments needed: 

• One Tuesday a month from 12-4pm 

• To complete a volunteer induction 

• Able to travel to and from St Pauls, Bristol. 

Attributes and qualifications needed: 

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Hairdressing 

• Confident working with a variety of hair types and styles. 

• Commitment to maintaining dignity, choice, and respect for all individuals. 

• Reliable and punctual 

• Communication skills and listening skills

• Able to hold client focused conversations 

• Compassionate, empathetic and non-judgemental

• Willing to implement boundaries when needed 

Tasks will involve: 

• Provide basic hairdressing services such as:

• Trimming and cutting hair 

• Blow-drying and styling 

• Tidy-ups 

• Create a friendly, respectful, and person‑centred experience for clients. 

• Listen to each individual’s preferences and deliver styles that suit their needs. 

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety within the working area. 

• Follow the services safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries guidelines. 

• Work collaboratively with staff and other volunteers to support smooth service delivery.

Help cats in the Glasgow area and beyond!

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Whatever your skill set, this role could be perfect for you!

It is a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following:

o face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with fundraising events, attending supermarket collections and monitoring collection boxes.

o online fundraising – assisting with online appeals, increasing social media engagement to maximise funds raised.

o bringing new ideas! - We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life.

o engaging with your local branch and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team.

You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge though Cats Protection’s learn online system, providing you with the skills to thrive as a fundraiser.  You’ll also have the chance to meet new people and be part of a dedicated team of volunteers.

Our Fundraising Volunteer roles are very flexible, often certain times of the year are busier than others. You can choose your level of involvement to suit your schedule!

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We are looking for a committed Trustee who would take on the key role of chairing our HR & Governance subcommittee and will be integral to the governance of our Board.

We have two forms of meetings that trustees are expected to attend at our London head office; Board Meetings, which occur 4 times a year and Board Away Days which can take place up to two times annually. All trustees also need to be a part of a subcommittee, which are held online quarterly.

Trustees will need to attend 4 in person board meetings per year. Each trustee is expected to join at least one subcommittee, with meetings held remotely 4 times per year. The expected time commitment for trustees averages one day per month across the year.

Animal Advocates organise and host small fundraising stalls within their local area, helping to raise awareness and funds to support animals who need our help.

Key Responsibilities

As an Animal Advocate, you will:

• Identify opportunities to hold a fundraising stall in your community at least once a month (for example at markets, fairs, community events or outside local businesses).
• Research and approach local businesses who may wish to donate items that can be sold to raise funds to support our work.
• Encourage people in your community to donate good-quality second-hand items that can be sold on the stall.
• Set up and run fundraising stalls to engage with the public and promote the charity’s work.
• Help raise awareness about the animals we support and the difference donations make.
• Be a vital part of our Events Team.

As part of our team, volunteers will receive:

The role 

Alongside other volunteers you will visit primary schools twice a month to deliver classroom based Speak out. Stay safe workshops for children aged 5-7 and 7-11 years.

As a Communications Volunteer you’ll play a key role in promoting your group to people in your area affected by MS, and helping them feel connected. Detailed description

You could be part of our exciting pilot project as a volunteer Parish Nurse offering life-transforming whole-person healthcare, working alongside Chaplains, Complex Needs and Housing Support Workers.

 As a YMCA Parish Nurse you would:

• Help service users identify issues and self-manage their wellbeing so they flourish in body, mind and spirit. This might be 1:2:1 or in a group setting.
• Signpost, support, and provide information and reassurance enabling service users to access NHS and other professional or community support as well as internal support from YMCA colleagues and projects.
• Offer spiritual care from a Christian perspective, such as prayer or acts of worship
• Be instrumental in supporting the project develop in this pilot phase

Training for this role is provided by PNMUK as part of their on-going programme of support and personal development for Parish Nursing nationally. The next course is 15-17th November with follow-up online sessions.

This project is being developed and lead by One YMCA’s Chaplaincy Team, together with our Medium Complex Intensive Support Service (MCISS) and supported by Parish Nursing Ministries UK (PNMUK).

The Chaplaincy Team offer life-transforming spiritual care and pastoral support. For us Chaplaincy is about journeying with people, inspired by the life, example and teaching of Jesus. About the Role

A successful candidate would have a good understanding of current accounting standards in the UK charities sector and be able to guide the organisation through compliance and regulatory matters both now and in the future.   

This would include:

• Review financial statements (income, expenses, reserves, cash flow) as presented by the Solace Finance Director + CEO. Ensure successful audits are delivered on an annual basis in line with Companies House and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor financial statements for financial health and going concern status in the near term. Monitor financials to ensure the charity is financially viable in the longer term. 
• Ensure adequate financial controls are in place for Solace in coordination with the Finance Director + team
• Management of risk and risk oversight: identify financials risks (funding gaps, cash flow deficiencies, under-diversified funding, fraud) and support on mitigating actions. Ensure Charities Commission updates are completed and documented as needed.
• Have oversight of Solace’s Reserves as well as Reserves ambitions over the longer term. 
• Help the Board understand the financial information and position of the charity including audit results, budget implications, annual reporting sign off. 
• Ensure the charity’s funds are deployed in line with Solace’s overall purpose and strategy.

Oxfam's Chester Shop is looking for Shop Volunteers to help Oxfam’s fight to support the world’s most vulnerable communities.

We’re looking for volunteers who can give 4-8 hours (or more!) of their time in the shop each week, and we’re excited to welcome brand new volunteers to our stores! Right now, we're looking for people to help out at the weekend!

Community and Fundraising Volunteers play a vital role in raising funds and awareness to support mums experiencing perinatal mental health challenges. This is a friendly, hands-on role where you’ll help plan, prepare, and deliver fundraising and community engagement activities. From supporting events and running stalls to chatting with supporters and sharing information about MumsAid’s services, you’ll be an important part of a welcoming and supportive team. 

No previous experience is required — just enthusiasm, reliability, and a genuine desire to support mums and their families. 

What will you be doing? 

• Supporting the planning and delivery of fundraising and community events, such as charity stalls, coffee mornings, sponsored activities, and awareness days. 

• Helping to create a lively, positive, and welcoming atmosphere at MumsAid events. 

• Engaging with members of the public, supporters, and participants, celebrating their involvement and encouraging donations. 

• Talking to people about MumsAid’s work and signposting to support where appropriate. 

• Assisting with event set-up and pack-down to ensure everything runs smoothly. 

• Handling cash and card donations responsibly, in line with MumsAid procedures. 

• Helping to raise awareness of perinatal mental health and the importance of early support. 

• Being part of a team that helps make MumsAid events inspiring, inclusive, and memorable. 

• Following MumsAid’s policies and procedures, including health and safety and safeguarding, to ensure events run smoothly.
