Stepping Stones Learning and Leisure is a small, friendly charity based in Southwark, providing inclusive activities for adults with learning disabilities. We believe everyone should have the chance to express themselves, connect with others, and take part in activities that bring joy, confidence, and new skills.

We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Social Club Volunteer to support our weekly Thursday sessions (10.30-12.30). We are based at St Faith’s Centre, Red Post Hill, SE24 9JQ (close to North Dulwich and Herne Hill stations) however this role requires the ability to travel to other locations in the borough of Southwark. We're currently visiting Herne Hill Velodrome with Wheels For Wellbeing and we are looking for people who would be willing to participate alongside our learners.

About The Role

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with others. In Social Club you’ll support our tutor in encouraging learners to participate in a variety of fun activities which aim to nurture the supportive relationships between our learners and enhance their wellbeing, joy and sense of belonging.

As a Social Club Volunteer at Stepping Stones, you will:

• Assist the tutor in providing fun and stimulating activities
• Play a part in ensuring the health and safety of learners when offsite
• Offer 1:1 or group support where needed to help participants engage
• Help build a warm, inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels safe to express themselves

Volunteer Role: Volunteer- Connect Service

Location: Across Wales

Frequency: Approximately six to ten hours per month

What you will be doing

As a volunteer with the Connect Service, you will work with the Lead Workers to support delivery of the Children and Young People Service, across South Wales. You will support the Lead Workers to maintain agreed levels of contact with young people and their adoptive family during their registered time with the service and support other Connect activities as agreed with you.

During the monthly sessions you will help with general tasks such as room set up, refreshments and general duties involved with group sessions as well as supporting the children and young people to engage in the group activities/workshops.

In between the monthly sessions it will be important to keep up to date with adoptive parenting issues through reading Adoption Today, Adoption UK publications and information, and other relevant background material. 

As a Volunteer with the Connect Service, you will attend volunteer induction training and ongoing training and development. As well as talking to, or meeting with, relevant Adoption UK staff for the purpose of supervision and review. It will be essential to comply with Adoption UK’s health and safety, equal opportunities, child protection and vulnerable adult, data protection, confidentiality and other policies.

This is a voluntary leadership role responsible for ensuring the charity operates effectively, ethically, and in line with its mission to support people experiencing homelessness in Peterborough.

Management Committee members carry out trustee-style responsibilities, providing oversight, guidance, and accountability for the organisation, without being part of day-to-day operations.

Fight for Home Group Member [Birmingham] 

Are you keen to use your creative energy or organisational skills to bring people together to fight for home? 

Information about the role 

This role gives you the chance to work as part of a team to come up with ideas, plan, organise and deliver fundraising events. As well as raising funds, you’ll also be sharing awareness of the local housing emergency within your local area.

Location: Birmingham

Suggested contribution: It’s flexible, but at least once a month, with potential for more volunteering in the lead up to an event.

Availability: This is a flexible opportunity, with meetings and events likely to take place in evenings and weekends.

Women on the Frontline Ministries (WOFM) is a registered charity supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse, sexual exploitation through street-based prostitution, trafficking and other vulnerabilities. We offer outreach, a weekly drop-in, casework and relationship-based support to women who are too often neglected and stigmatised. We are looking for an experienced, motivated volunteer fundraiser to help us grow our income, raise awareness of the women we serve, and make sure this work can continue.

WOFM exists to bring dignity, safety and hope to vulnerable and exploited women in East London. Our work is practical and relational: meeting women where they are, building trust over time, and walking with them towards a more stable future. The role

As our Volunteer Fundraiser, you will help shape and deliver our fundraising strategy and turn it into real income. You will be a key part of securing the resources that sustain and grow our frontline support for women. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both planning and doing — and who wants their skills to count for something that matters.

• Help develop and deliver WOFM’s fundraising strategy and annual income goals.

• Research and identify funding opportunities — grants, trusts, foundations, corporate partners and community giving.

Our shops are at the heart of local communities raising vital funds for our fight against homelessness and bad housing - and they’re powered by our volunteers!

Suggested Involvement: It’s up to you! We have volunteers who support for one hour a week and others who volunteer more. Many people volunteer for a morning or an afternoon each week, but we’ll have a chat about your availability after you’ve applied.

Our volunteer supervisors help with overseeing the running of our shop and creating a fantastic environment for our customers. You may be involved with coordinating and supporting other volunteers, operating computer systems, and being a key point of contact for the shop.

We welcome applications from people with a wide range of skills and experiences. You don’t need to have volunteered or worked in a shop before as full training will be provided. Description

This group offers blind and partially sighted people living with Retinal Detachment the opportunity to socialise with one another on a regular basis. Could you be the right person to facilitate the group? Do you have personal or professional experience of Retinal Detachment? If you’re also a good listener, able to manage group conversations and make people feel comfortable in a social group environment, we're keen to hear from you.

This is a telephone-based role that you can do from home. You will need access to a landline and/or mobile phone. We ask you to commit to 1-2 hours per week to facilitate one group session, which will take place at the same day and time each week.

You will be the link between the group participants and the RNIB Talk and Support team and will:

• Listen to the group conversation, ensure it flows and that all conversations are appropriate;
• Make appropriate contributions as and when required to stimulate conversation;
• Create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere thus encouraging all participants to feel comfortable taking part;
• Report any Safeguarding concerns or data breaches to the Talk & Support staff team.

Sooty, the nation’s much-loved bear and a true national treasure, has featured on RNIB’s collection boxes for over 50 years. Thanks to generous public support, these iconic boxes have raised more than £13 million in donations.

We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to join our network of Sooty Box collectors. In this flexible role, you’ll help place new boxes and collect and bank donations from Sooty Boxes in local shops, cafés and other businesses in your area. Whether you volunteer on your own, with a friend or as part of a group, you’ll be making a real difference in your community.

You can give as much or as little time as you like and fit the role around your other commitments.

We're looking for enthusiastic and community-minded volunteers to join our friendly team at our charity shop in Elm Cross Shopping Centre, Bradford on Avon. Whether you’re looking to gain experience, meet new people, or support a great cause, there’s a place for you with us.

Julian House is a charity dedicated to making a difference to the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in society. We run several projects and every year we help thousands of people out of homelessness, into employment, away from domestic abuse, and more.

Our Charity Shops recycle used or unwanted items that people have donated and make sure they go to a good home which reduces waste and helps the environment.

No two days are the same – you could be:

• Running the till and delivering fantastic customer service
• Sorting donations and preparing them for display
• Keeping the shop looking its best
• Steaming and presenting clothes beautifully
• Pricing items to reflect their true value

At St John Ambulance, we are looking to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education. 

We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference. Through volunteering as an Emergency Responder, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering essential first aid and lifesaving clinical care at community and major events in your areas, including at sporting events, concerts, community festivals.

We will make sure you will have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. We will also provide you with a supportive environment while you are volunteering with us. Information about our volunteer roles are included in the role descriptions. What you can expect from SJA, and what we expect from those who volunteer with us, is included in the volunteer charter.

Invitation to selection events will be shared with candidates once an application is received.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our medical team at some of the biggest sports' stadia in the country, including major football venues. We are looking for committed candidates who live in the boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, and Westminster. By providing medical cover at weekday evening and weekend matches, you will be able to experience both the electric atmosphere of the game and the satisfaction of helping during medical emergencies.
