The impact you will make:

By supporting local and national fundraising activity, you will help ensure that NCI stations can continue to operate effectively. Your contribution will directly support the volunteers on watch who provide a crucial extra set of eyes along the coast, helping to prevent incidents and assist emergency services when needed.

What you will be doing:

As a volunteer station supporter fundraiser, you will be involved in your stations fundraising activities, including:

• Attending local fundraising events and community activities organised by your station
• Manning stalls at events, shows, and public spaces
• Collecting, checking, and emptying donation boxes in agreed locations
• Assisting with simple fundraising initiatives organised by your local station
• Helping to promote NCI within the local community and encouraging public support

This role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience, confidence, and skills while supporting a coastal water safety charity. Would be beneficial to be located near to an NCI station, or reasonable travelling disctance from a station. Would need to hold a driving licence for travelling to and from events.

Airplay is part of the RAF Benevolent fund and run by One YMCA. We provide youth clubs for children aged eight to eighteen which includes Ben Clubs for children aged 5 to 7 too. We provide a range of social activities in state-of-the-art facilities with sessions run by our friendly youth workers.

MAIN TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

· To support the provision of the Airplay and Ben Club activities and workshops

· Developing relationships with young people in a safe environment

· Supervising children and young people in activities, workshops and discussion sessions

· Engaging in learning and play with younger children

· Working with children and young people to track their progress

· Data entry/light admin work may be required

The governing body is usually split in to a small number of committees, each responsible for one area such as finance or pupil achievement. These committees will meet separately from the main governing body to discuss relevant issues in more detail. Discussion is then fed back at a full governing body meeting.

A school governing body is made up of representatives from the school, the parents, the local authority and the local community.

What are we looking for?

You don’t need any specific skills or experience to be a school governor. You must be over 18, but you don’t need to be a parent or have experience working in education. Often, it’s the outside perspective you can bring that a school needs.

Professional experience in areas such as HR, finance, law, or project management are all useful to a school. But soft skills such as leadership, communication, and problem solving are also great additions.

What difference will you make?

Governors make decisions that affect schools for years to come. Our recent impact survey found that our volunteers bring £9.9 million worth of value to schools each year, and 9/10 volunteers would recommend being a governor to a friend. 

As a governor, you can visit the school to gain an understanding of the culture and ethos and to get the most out of the role. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet children, parents, and teachers, and see the impact of your work first-hand.

At St John Ambulance, we are looking to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education. 

We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference, supporting them to become safe and more resilient by sharing your first aid skills and knowledge. As a Community First Aider, you’ll deliver first aid to those in need through local events, as well as provide education to the public so that the ripple effect of First Aid grows.

Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives.

Seeking support with childcare for children aged 0-12 for a Community Arts project in Vauxhall. We are looking for a volunteer to join experienced childcare providers.

The Amies Projects (part of Pan Intercultural Arts) are music and drama projects for women survivors of human trafficking, providing an uplifting and empowering space for participants to make friends, learn new skills and get creative together. We hold several sessions each week and provide childcare for all the participants who need it, with 2 childcare team members during each session. The sessions for the participants are in an adjacent room to the childcare space, meaning parents are in the same building.

Description of role

To support the childcare practitioner with providing supervision of young people aged 0-12. During the session there is no set curriculum to follow. We encourage children to be creative, offering arts supplies eg play doh and crayons, as well as toys for creative play. Children will have food during the session, which will be provided either by the charity or by the parents depending on the age and preferences. Children will need to be supported to use the toilet, nappies changed etc. We ask that volunteers alert staff of any safeguarding issues arising.

Our plans for the redevelopment of our largest service on a brand new site in Perth are now advancing at pace. Our Inclusive Community Project will see us deliver exemplary care in a modern environment, shaped by innovation, technology and best practice.

Capability Scotland is also proud to operate Corseford College, the first and only college for young people with multiple and complex needs. Now in its fourth year, the achievements of our students are a powerful testament to the success of this pioneering model.

To help us continue to be successful, we are looking to appoint new Trustees to complement the skills of our existing Board, to drive change and to help shape our strategic direction. The Board’s purpose is also to ensure the highest standards of governance and to provide oversight, scrutiny and constructive support to senior management.

We have some Board vacancies right now and we are looking for a diverse range of people with an interest in what we are trying to achieve and who want to be part of a values-led charity.

We would love to see applications from people with lived experience of disability. We would also welcome applications from candidates with expertise in social care/social work, fundraising, marketing, education and technology as we explore the use of assistive technology and AI in the delivery of person-centred care.

Our Trustees are all committed to putting the people we support at the heart of everything we do and are passionate about developing innovative high quality solutions to improve care and education provision for disabled people across Scotland. This is a ybrid role, with a preference for candidates who can attend occasional in-person meetings in Scotland. 

The Board meets four times annually, with meetings typically lasting around 2 hours. One meeting (held alongside the AGM in September/October) lasts approximately 3 hours. Trustees may also be invited to join one of three committees—Finance; Audit & Risk (4x per year); or Service Quality (4x per year) and Remuneration & Nominations (at least 1x per year).

We are seeking organised, reliable, and driven volunteers to support with our person-centred community mental health services. Volunteers will support group activities and sessions, and provide 1-1 support to community members.

Through free, accessible, and local activities, courses, and groups, we support members in building confidence, re-connecting with their communities, and progressing along their own path to wellbeing and recovery. Volunteers are vital to ensuring this support is personal, meaningful, and consistent.

 Community Support

The Community Support Volunteer role is part of Mind in Camden’s wider group services, including the Healthy Minds Community Programme and Phoenix Recovery Service. These services work with adults (18+) living in Camden who may be experiencing mental health challenges, isolation, or social exclusion. 

Healthy Minds is a community programme of free activities such as creative workshops, gentle exercise, walks, cultural trips, and social drop-ins. The programme aims to tackle social isolation by allowing members to build confidence and community through connection and shared interest. 

Phoenix Recovery Service is a day service supporting members’ mental health recovery who may have complex or long-term challenges.  The service is delivered in partnership with Camden Council and runs on a Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday at Mind in Camden. This is a relaxed social space where members chat, have lunch, and can get 1-1 support from staff and volunteers. 

All volunteers who apply must be willing to:

• Undergo a DBS check
• Attend a mandatory two day in person training on Monday 21st and Wednesday 23rd September 2026 at Mind in Camden
• Attend an interview (time TBD)

Join FARA, a charity with over 30 years of experience and 39 charity shops across London. Our FARA Fulham shop is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Instagram Volunteer to help us keep our Instagram content fresh, engaging, and up to date.

By volunteering with us, you’ll directly support our mission, help promote reuse through donation and recycling, and contribute to a positive experience for our customers and online community.

The Role:

As a volunteer, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Creating Instagram content, including posts and stories
• Capturing photos and videos that highlight our activities, updates, and events
• Showcasing donation appeals in a clear and appealing way
• Helping maintain a consistent and on-brand social media presence
• Monitoring basic engagement (likes, comments, and shares)
