Put your practical skills togood use and help give furniture a new lease of life. If you enjoy building, fixing and working with your hands, this could be a great role for you. You’ll help prepare furniture for display, sale and customer delivery.

A bit more information about this role and the team

Our brand-new Skipton store is due to open on the 26 November, so we’ll be looking for our new volunteers to start then. To welcome our new volunteers and get you up to speed, we’re aiming to hold a volunteer induction session(s) during the week commencing 16 November.

What we need from you

  • Assembling flat-pack furniture by following manufacturer instructions
  • Preparing assembled furniture for display in the shop or delivery to customers
  • Completing assembly requests within agreed timescales
  • Keeping tools and the assembly area organised, tidy and safe
  • Reporting missing parts, faults or damage to the appropriate team member
  • Carrying out simple repairs to donated furniture where appropriate and within your skills
  • Volunteering alongside other volunteers and employees to make sure furniture is ready when customers need it

Time expectation

Our Furniture Assembly & Repair Volunteers usually spend around four hours per day in this role.
