Job description

This new Co-opted Trustee- Development voluntary role will work closely with the Chief Executive and Head of Development supporting our work to secure donations from charitable trusts, foundations, businesses and government supporters.

Role Duties

  • Act as an ambassador and adviser to the Trust Board and senior leaderships to strengthen its approach to fundraising and income generation
  • Help us create and then chair a group of volunteer advocates
  • Agree a list of prospective trust, government, corporate and / or individual supporters
  • To speak at cultivation and stewardship events

Wider Trustee Duties

  • To ensure that the Charity complies with its governing documents
  • To contribute to setting the strategic direction and policy of the Charity
  • Protect and manage the charitable assets
  • To ensure the Charity manages its resources effectively

Appointment Term and Time Commitment

The term of the appointment is 3 years, subject to annual renewal confirmed by mutual agreement, with a maximum term of 9 years

The successful candidate should expect to donate 5 hours per month of time.

Ongoing commitment includes:

  • attendance at board meetings (evenings up to 5 times per year)
  • Chair 2 meetings of our Development Advocates

The trustee role is not remunerated but reasonable expenses will be reimburse
