Feeling Strong is an exciting Dundee-based charity with the ambition to improve the lives of young people living with mental health and wellbeing challenges by fostering the skills, confidence and aspirations they need to flourish. Our services are designed by young people, delivered by young people for the benefit of young people, and we believe that this youth-led/peer-led approach is our biggest asset in tackling issues around mental health and wellbeing. We support stable recovery journeys for young people, lead campaigns to tackle societal issues, develop quality resources based on our own research, and tackle the disparity they face in unemployment, underemployment and accessing opportunities like further and higher education.
YOUR COMMITMENT
Whilst the Trustee Board meets for formal meetings 6 times a year, successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the organisation more widely, taking part in fundraisers, external events, strategic planning and advising the staff team when needed. The average contribution expected of Trustees is around one - two hours per month.
Work-related travel costs will be reimbursed.

Our emotional support volunteers offer vital emotional support to woman, girl and AFAB non-binary survivors of sexual violence and abuse by providing our helpline, email support and live chat services.
We are the only specialist service in Cambridgeshire providing dedicated support to woman survivors of rape and sexual violence.
These confidential and anonymous services would not exist without our amazing volunteers, who provide life-changing support to survivors in their local community.
Who are we looking for?
Women of all ages (18 years +) and backgrounds who are:
- Empathetic, non-judgemental and good listeners.
- Self-aware and emotionally resilient.
- Interested in discussing and learning about sexual violence and its impacts on women and girls.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and anonymity.
- Able to work independently using initiative and also be part of a team.
- Share CRCC’s survivor-focused ethos.
- Ideally able to commit to three shifts a month (shifts are Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings).
- Ideally able to commit to volunteering for at least 18 months.
We especially welcome enquiries from women from minoritised and under-represented groups and communities. This includes AFAB non-binary individuals who feel comfortable volunteering within a service run for women by women.
We can contribute to childcare costs and reasonable travel expenses to enable women to volunteer with us.
Comprehensive training and support will be provided for this role. Training starts on the 20 April 2026.

This role is working therapeutically alongside a child/young person on one of our bereavement support days on either a Saturday or Sunday in a group setting. Ideally you will have experience in working with children and have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and be able to support children and young people in distress and remain calm.
You will be working therapeutically with your allocated child after receiving training. You will have a group leader who will guide you through the structure of each day. There is also a Clinical Lead who will oversee and facilitate the programme.
You will also be expected to attend a debrief at the end of each day and also complete detailed documentation on the child/ young person you have been working with.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided. We pay 40pence per mile to cover your travel expenses. We will provide training (Safeguarding Children, Volunteer Induction Day and other specialist training days).
You will also have the opportunity to observe a weekend programme in action before you work with a child / young person. We will pay for your DBS check and provide you with a uniform.

The Chapter constitutes the board of charity trustees of Worcester Cathedral (registered charity: 1207427). The Chapter comprises members who are lay and ordained, executive and non-executive as set out in the Cathedral’s Constitution. The non-executive members provide constructive challenge, input and support to the Cathedral’s strategic direction and operational implementation.
Commitment
Meetings: The Chapter currently meets formally 8 times per year (including two away days), usually for four hours on a weekday morning. Papers are received in advance and all members of the Chapter are expected to have read papers and be prepared to contribute as needed to discussion.
The Chapter does not normally meet in August. Expenses can be claimed for attendance at meetings or carrying out functions on behalf of the Chapter. Non-executive members of the Chapter will serve as lay canons of the Cathedral (or honorary canons if ordained), having the right to the title of ‘Canon’ and of being assigned a stall in the Cathedral’s 14th Quire. Non-executive members of the Chapter are required to adhere to the Chapter Member / Trustee Code of Conduct
Responsibilities of the Chapter:
A non-executive member of the Chapter shall take a full part in the discussions and decision-making of the Chapter as it fulfils its statutory responsibilities:
- to order the worship and promote the mission of the Cathedral;
- to formulate proposals in connection with the strategic direction and mission of the Cathedral;
- to manage all property vested in the Cathedral and the income accruing from it;
- to ensure that necessary repairs and maintenance of the Cathedral and its contents and other buildings and monuments are carried out;
- to attend to all matters concerning the appointment of staff to the Cathedral;
- to prepare an annual budget for the Cathedral;
- to prepare an annual report and accounts;
- to keep under review the Constitution and Statutes of the Cathedral;
- to ensure legal and regulatory compliance;
- to meet safeguarding requirements and ensure best practice;
- to exercise the power if necessary to provide for the incorporation of limited companies for the better management of the Cathedral.
Contributing to the Cathedral's Life, Worship and Mission:
A non-executive member of the Chapter shall contribute the skills and experience they bring to the Cathedral as opportunity allows, for example:
- by serving on such incorporated limited companies as the Chapter may establish, on sub-committees of the Chapter and on any working groups of the Chapter as may be created;
- by attending and contributing to worship at the Cathedral;
- by contributing to the ministry of hospitality offered at the Cathedral and to such other Cathedral activity as may be appropriate;
- by acting as an advocate for the Chapter of Worcester Cathedral within and beyond the Church of England, across the city, the Deanery and the Diocese of Worcester and the wider region;
- by serving as a Canon of the Cathedral, being seen and present as such, as may be appropriate;
- by providing critical friendship and constructive challenge to Chapter colleagues, the Chief Officers and the wider Senior Executive Team.
In general:
- to ensure their own compliance with the Chapter’s policies and procedures, and contribute to the review and development of policy and practice;
- to promote and uphold the Cathedral’s reputation and good standing at all times.
Person specification
Essential
- Communicant member of the Church of England (within the meaning given in Rule 83(2) of the Church Representation Rules), or a communicant member of a Church which is not in communion with the Church of England but subscribes to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity
- Committed to the Cathedral’s Christian vision, values, mission and ministry.
- Able to carry out legal duties as set out in the Charity Commission’s ‘CC3 - The Essential Trustee’ and make decisions in accordance with the guidance provided in ‘CC27 – Decision-making for charity trustees’.
- Willing to follow the Chapter’s Code of Conduct and to uphold all of the Chapter’s safeguarding responsibilities.
- Willing to complete appropriate safeguarding training and DBS checking.
- Demonstrable strategic leadership and governance skills; previous experience volunteering as a trustee is welcome but not essential.
- Willingness to attend to professional personal development including undertaking training.
- Able to commit a minimum of eight hours a month to attending Chapter meetings (or other business on behalf of the Chapter) including preparation for meetings.

The Chapter members must be eligible to be trustees under the Charities Act. The Chapter members may not act as a trustee if they are disqualified unless authorised to do so by a waiver from the Commission. The reasons for disqualification, issued by the Commission include:

- having an unspent conviction for certain offences;
- being on the Sex Offenders Register

Catering Volunteer role:
Preparing a hot and cold lunch for adults and children and preparing snacks and drinks for the morning and afternoon break times. Cleaning up the kitchen at the end of the day. You will be working alongside another kitchen helper.
· We pay 40p per mile, provide food and refreshments and offer free training (Safeguarding children). We also provide a branded t-shirt for you to wear in the kitchen.
· We ask all kitchen volunteers to commit to at least 3 days a year on either a Saturday or Sunday in the kitchen at any of our venues that suit you.

Transparency International is a global movement sharing one vision: a world in which government politics, business, civil society and the daily lives of people are free of corruption.
Transparency International UK is the UK national chapter of this movement. Our work with the British government, parliamentarians, and the private sector plays a critical role in tackling corruption at home, addressing the UK’s global corruption footprint and helping multinational companies prevent corruption by operating with integrity. We are particularly looking for skills and experience in charity governance; strategic international programming; and the strategic use of big data and artificial intelligence. Role of Trustees / Board members
The Board are principally accountable to members of TI-UK, the Charity Commission and the TI movement and they also ensure that the activities of the charitable company meet public benefit expectations. The employees are a key stakeholder group and the Board actively engages with them on governance matters and in sharing decisions taken.
The broad areas of the work of the Board include:
- Strategic direction, ensuring that we are responding to the changing external environment across programme areas
- Performance, monitoring the performance of the executive against strategic and operational plans; including programme delivery
- Assurance, contributing to the identification and monitoring of risk. Ensuring there are adequate short and longer term financial plans in place to deliver the strategy. Adhering to the highest standards of charity governance.

Appointment
The term of office is for three years. Reappointment is for a maximum of three terms (nine years cumulative). Board members are eligible for appointment/re-appointment by the members of TI-UK at their AGM.
This is a voluntary, unpaid role but all reasonable expenses are paid. As the movement has Chapters in more than 100 other countries, we are only able to appoint individuals who are permanently resident in the UK.
Time Commitment
- The Board meets at least four times a year generally between 12 noon and 5:30pm on a weekday
- A day-long Trustee and Senior Leadership Team Away Day occurs each year
- Meetings are scheduled a year in advance to ensure maximum attendance
- Papers are available electronically one week before each meeting
- Board members are expected to be a member of at least one Committee (Finance, Risk & Audit, Research, GTNI (global programmes), or Nominations & Governance) with these meeting at least two times a year during working hours.
- Additional time will be required to be on hand for advice on an ad hoc basis either to the Board or the Senior Leadership Team and to attend occasional events.
Face-to-face Board meetings of all Trustees are encouraged and these are held at the TI-UK office in central London. Trustees can be based outside of London and contribute virtually.
Trustees are invited to attend supporter engagement and fundraising events as well as learning events.
What the role offers

Experience
It is not necessary to have previous board or committee experience, although applicants should have regard to the role description above. Where learning and development support may be required this can be highlighted in the application process.
Specific sector experience of Anti-Corruption and Bribery is not essential.

The Person
The right candidate will thrive in a student led, highly responsive environment and have an enthusiasm for supporting and guiding a student organisation. They will command confidence, have sound judgement and strong communication and leadership skills. We are looking for a trustee with the following skills/experience
Finance Experience:
- Preferably financial experience from a charity outside of the SU sector
- Understanding of financial oversight
- Ability to interpret financial information to support strategic decision-making
- Awareness of charity finance and regulatory requirements
Chairing Experience:
- Ability to deputise for the Chair, and chair meetings of the Board
- Ability to build a strong and effective working relationship with the Board of Trustees Chair

1. Organisational Information:
1.1 The Walton Firs Foundation is a Surrey-based registered charity (Charity registration number: 1113830), and a company limited by guarantee without share capital (Companies House registration number: 05695208). The Foundation’s charitable mission is to support young people’s personal development and social inclusion, through enabling their engagement in outdoor education, vocational training, and volunteering programmes. Since its establishment in 2006, the Foundation has enabled over 250,000 young people from across the south-east of England to learn, develop and enjoy in nature, including many whose backgrounds and circumstances have previously restricted their access to the natural environment. The Foundation is a recipient of The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, in recognition of its developmental impact on the lives of young people. In 2024/25, the Foundation recorded a total income of £852,977, and a net trading surplus of £81,286.
1.2 The Foundation owns and manages Walton Firs Activity Centre, a fifty-acre facility that provides forty land-based outdoor education activities and residential capacity to accommodate up to 1,100 young people. The activity centre is commissioned by a wide range of children’s and youth service providers and by primary, secondary and SEND schools to deliver high quality curriculum enhancement programmes and outdoor learning activities. In addition, the activity centre directly-delivers a range of services for local young people, including holiday and afterschool activity projects, work experience programmes, and The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. In 2024/25, Walton Firs Activity Centre delivered 479 service commissions and engaged 32,000 young people in outdoor learning activities and programmes.
1.3 Currently, the Foundation has six trustees / directors, who work with the company secretary under the leadership of the chairman of the board, to provide oversight and scrutiny of, and support and guidance to, the chief executive officer and the activity centre management team. A group of twenty-five charity patrons provide overview over the trustees / directors.

2. Role Purpose:
2.1 The Trustees / Directors of the Walton Firs Foundation serve simultaneously as a charity trustees and as company directors, and manage statutory duties under the Companies Act 2006. They are responsible for the strategic direction, operational governance, and financial status of the organisation, and work closely with the chief executive officer to ensure the Foundation delivers its charitable objects and activities for the public benefit, in compliance with the Charity Commission’s regulations and company law. The role’s key accountabilities include ensurance of the Foundation’s capacity to manage high-quality outdoor education experiences and facilities for young people, whilst complying with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.

7. Additional Information:
7.1 Trustees / Directors are appointed for a term of four years, renewable subject to board approval.

We are seeking up to 3 trustees who can bring specialist expertise in one or more of the following areas, complementing the skills of the Chair and wider Board:
Legal
