Independent Arts is seeking a Treasurer Trustee to join our Board and help support the charity’s
continued growth and sustainability.

Independent Arts works with people of all ages and backgrounds, using creativity and
participation in the arts to improve wellbeing, reduce isolation, build confidence, and
strengthen communities. We believe that creativity can have a positive impact on people’s lives,
and we are looking for someone who shares our values and wants to make a meaningful
contribution.

As Treasurer Trustee, you will play an important role in helping the Board oversee the charity’s financial affairs, ensuring strong financial governance and supporting informed decision-making. You will work alongside fellow trustees and staff to help ensure the organisation remains financially sustainable and able to continue delivering its valuable work across the Isle of Wight.

We are looking for someone who can offer:
• Experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, business planning, or financial
management

Previous charity trustee experience or a professional accounting qualification would be
welcome but is not essential. We encourage applications from people with relevant skills and

Time commitment
This is a voluntary role. The Treasurer Trustee will be expected to attend quarterly Board and
finance committee meetings and review papers in advance, with additional time required to

About Us

The Almshouse Association is the national membership body representing almshouse charities across England and Wales and supporting the wider charitable housing sector. As part of this work, we support the Charity Housing Alliance (CHA), a growing network of charitable housing providers, housing trusts and not-for-profit housing organisations.

We are seeking a volunteer to support our fundraising team by researching new corporate partnership opportunities and helping to build a pipeline of prospective business supporters.

The volunteer will identify companies whose values and CSR, ESG, employee engagement or charitable giving objectives align with Housing for Women’s mission. The role will focus on researching Charity of the Year partnerships, strategic corporate collaborations, sponsorship opportunities and corporate volunteering programmes.

The volunteer will play a key role in maintaining and developing a pipeline of prospective corporate supporters, helping Housing for Women create new income-generating and engagement opportunities.

You will meet some amazing people, whilst making a positive impact to their lives by driving to places they enjoy and appointments that are important. 
 

Activities will include: 

• Driving the people we support between their homes and services in a safe manner, in accordance with UK law. 

• Driving your own car or house vehicles

• Driving around the Marlborough area, which will be the start and end point of the majority of journeys 

• Assisting people we support in and out of vehicles and locations – with assistance from trained Dimensions staff. 

• Driving in a manner that is sensitive of physical and emotional requirements of the people we support. 

We are looking for drivers who: 

• Are aged 21 or over, with at least 2 years driving experience 

• Hold a full, clean and current UK Driving License (or equivalent) 

• Have the ability to understand verbal and written instructions in relation to  journeys 

• Are friendly with the people we support and our support staff 

• Are willing to commit to volunteer regularly (every other weekend, times to be agreed) 

A DBS check and two character references will be required for this role.

130 Primrose is a charity restaurant in Primrose Hill using hospitality as a vehicle for change- recruiting, training and employing people with lived experience of homelessness.

In just 12 months, we’ve already supported individuals into paid work, qualifications, and long-term employment pathways. Now, we’re entering an exciting growth phase, with ambitions to scale our model to new sites and reach significantly more people. 

We’re seeking a Strategic Finance Trustee to join our board and help guide this next stage- bringing commercial insight, financial clarity, and strategic challenge as we grow.

About the Role

This is a strategic, non-operational trustee position for a senior finance leader who can translate financial insight into clear, practical decision-making.

You’ll work closely with the Chair, CEO, and Board to ensure our model is financially sustainable, scalable, and impactful- supporting both our social mission and our trading activity.

Our model combines earned income (restaurant operations) with social impact, making financial leadership a critical lever for success.

What You’ll Do

• Support the Board on financial strategy, planning, and risk oversight
• Challenge and refine forecasting and cashflow planning (12–36 months)
• Strengthen financial visibility (P&L, balance sheet, cash) for operational teams
• Advise on unit economics, including menu margins, labour model, and cost control

Main duties will include:

• Publishing news and reports about developments at Plateful Cafe, which is due to open in May

Volunteers will be supporting people in their own homes and in the community within Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and ideally, we ask all applicants to provide a minimum of 1 hour volunteering a week.

The companion service volunteer can choose to be:                                                           

• A companion within the person’s home

• A companion outside the person’s home

Examples of the type of support the service offers include:

• Supporting an older person/s hobbies and interests or simply chatting with them in their own home on a regular basis.

• Supporting with digital access & building confidence skills & motivation to access the opportunities of the internet.

The Digital Support service offers free, personalised assistance through one-to-one, group, or virtual sessions, tailored to each individual’s needs and pace. It supports people in getting started with smartphones, tablets, and laptops, setting up and using online services such as shopping platforms and health apps, and staying connected with family and friends through messaging, video calls, and social media. The service also helps individuals build confidence online, protect personal information, and recognise and avoid scams, phishing messages, and fake websites.

Support is available for a wide range of devices, including laptops, tablets (such as iPads), smartphones (Android or iPhone), and other everyday digital technology. Whether someone is completely new to digital or looking to develop their skills, the service helps them get online, set up and manage email accounts, use apps and online services, and explore new digital tools in a simple, friendly, and supportive way.

About the Role

As an Age UK Digital support volunteer, you'll receive training to aid older individuals in improving their digital skills and confidence, with particular focus on digital health. This can include access to the NHS app or local GP surgery online portals. Your role includes understanding their online barriers and helping to overcome them.

Specific tasks may include:

· Work with older people in group sessions to develop their digital skills and confidence online.

· Get to know the older people you support to understand the individual barriers they face.

· Some set-up of the room may be required as well as handing out equipment

Personal qualities and skills most suited to this role

· Strong listener and clear, friendly communicator who adapts to different learners

· Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and laptops
