We are a UK registered youth development charity that uses teaching and learning to skateboard in a structured and supportive environment as a platform to develop the skills and abilities of children and young people.

The Role: Chapter Leader

As a Chapter Leader with the Skateboarding Foundation (SF), your role is to set up and run a Local Chapter that gives young people access to skateboarding and life skills through the SF ‘Eduskate’ programme.

Training, materials, resources, equipment and ongoing support, advice and guidance will be provided.

Key responsibilities

Your key responsibilities include:

• Setting up and running the chapter
• Recruiting coaches
• Recruiting learners
• Coordinating the delivery of the coaching programme
• Raising funds and spreading the word
• Helping us monitor and evaluate the programme
• Giving three/four hours a month of your time

You’ll have overall responsibility for the chapter’s activities, compliance, and smooth running. You’ll provide direction and support to your chapter committee, chair meetings, and ensure volunteers, coaching programmes, and fundraising are well managed.

The role involves motivating the team, planning chapter development, and stepping in where needed to keep things on track. You’ll also liaise with the national Board of Trustees, keeping them informed of key decisions and changes. 

Strong leadership, organisation, and a passion for youth development (and ideally skateboarding) and the charity’s mission are essential.

Volunteering in the shop

Our gorgeous shop in historic Windsor has been at the heart of the community since the early 1990’s (it’s truly vintage!) and has in recent years been transformed into a bespoke Mary’s Living & Giving store. 

Our Windsor Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

Day Centre Meet & Greet

What You’ll Do

As a Meet & Greet Volunteer, you’ll be a friendly first point of contact at our day centre, helping to create a safe, welcoming and well-supported environment for people living with dementia, their families, and visitors.

You will:

· Welcome clients, visitors, and family members as they arrive

· Help maintain a safe environment by being present and aware of who is entering and leaving the centre

· Gently support clients to remain within safe areas if needed

· Provide information, leaflets, or signposting to visitors

· Work alongside staff to ensure the day runs smoothly

The Dementia Services supports people to live independently and safely at home for as long as possible, stay socially engaged and carry on doing what they love. The service supports Camden residents over the age of 55 in the early or moderate stages of dementia.

We offer clients from the Dementia Services (befriending and wellbeing) a short performance or creative activity delivered by a volunteer visual artist, musician, dancer, actor, performer, and other creative artforms. You may choose to share a creative hobby or an art form you practice professionally.

What does the role involve? 

·Share your creative talent or hobby with older people living with dementia by delivering a short performance to an older person at home or providing an opportunity for them to participate in a creative activity.

·Visit a minimum of 4 times per year for up to 1.5 hours each time, including 20/30 minutes for the performance/activity.

·Provide opportunities for connection with older people during your visit through conversation and engagement.

• Liaise with service coordinators to link with clients who have asked to receive these visits/calls.
• Provide feedback after every performance, including positive impact, improvements to the delivery of visits or concerns regarding the client.

What are the benefits for people living with dementia?

 Many of the clients we support in this service are housebound or do not have the confidence or opportunity to attend events. Some clients may be artists, performers and creatives in their own right who do not get an opportunity to engage with or experience this aspect of their lives anymore.

Giving people who are living with memory loss an opportunity to be part of creative activities is a stimulating, fun way of putting them in touch with memories, other people and the wider community.

Bringing your artform into peoples’ homes can have a huge impact on reducing isolation, encouraging connection and bring a sprinkle of joy to those living with dementia.

We are looking for people who have:

• An interest in sharing or performing their creative, artistic skill whether you are a hobbyist or a professional: 
• Singing

·Playing a musical instrument

·Visual art activity

·Poetry/acting

·Dancing

·Culture-specific art/music/dance/poetry

These are just a handful of examples, but we will consider applications from a variety of artists/musicians/ performers and are open to suggestions.

What other attributes do you need?

• Good verbal and written skills in English 

• Enjoy conversation.
• A desire to learn more about an individual and their interests and their past, and life history
• Consistency and reliability 
• An ability to empathise and understand the needs and experiences of an individual with dementia and memory loss.

Volunteering Hours 

Performances/activities:Usually approx. 20 -30 minutes but 1-1.5hrs are assigned to the visit

 Minimum of 4 - 6 visits a year (you can opt to do more). 

Visits will be a time agreed between you and the older person you are matched with.

Please note, early morning and late evenings are generally not suitable times for visits. 

Training and induction are provided for the role and includes: 

• Online Dementia Awareness course 
• Age UK Camden organisational induction 
• Induction to Dementia Befriending and Dementia Wellbeing Services and relationships, how to deliver a performer visit
• Safeguarding Adults online course
• Data Awareness online course

We will give you:

• Ongoing support including regular supervision by the coordinator of the service.
• Reimbursement of agreed expenses 
• Access to Volunteer Forum events

We understand that completing the various steps takes time, and we support and keep in touch with you through the process. 

As this role brings our volunteers into regular contact with vulnerable older people, we make sure that all volunteers understand their role and have completed our recruitment procedures to both our and their satisfaction. 

Girls in Sport: Fundraising Trustee

Voluntary role: This is an unpaid trustee position, with reasonable expenses reimbursed where agreed.

Location: Remote but Trustee must be UK based 

Role Specification

This is an opportunity to join us at a pivotal moment: helping to shape the next chapter of a niche, sports for social impact initiative that works to deliver meaningful change to communities, and provides a safe space for many girls who are exposed to risks associated with their gender.  

You will join the Trustee Board in leading tranformative development from a successful grassroots pilot, towards a road-map that reinforces robust, cross-cutting outcomes and sustainability.  

As we move through 2026, we are seeking an experienced fundraising and grants practitioner who can bring sector insight, constructive challenge and strategic oversight to the Board. 

1. Introduction from the Board

Girls in Sport is a niche but ambitious sport-for-social-impact charity using locally led programmes to challenge gender inequality and create safer, stronger opportunities for girls in hard-to-reach communities. Our Secretariat is in the UK, and we are currently working with communities in Sierra Leone.

We are entering a transformative phase: moving from a grassroots initiative with proven impact into a stronger regional model with the potential to reach more girls, families and communities. To support that growth, we are building out our Trustee Board with more practitioners across the charity, fundraising and social impact sectors. 

You will help direct and provide leadership at Board level in guiding us to unlock pathways to funding that is both restricted and unrestricted, strengthen financial sustainability, and support the responsible growth of our impact in Sierra Leone and other communities where our model can be replicated.  It is very imprtant that you recognise fluctuating capacity challenges associated with scaling from start-up in the non-profit space.

Sport for Social Impact

We believe sport can be a powerful conduit for social change from the grassroots. Through locally led programmes in protected settings, we use sport, nutrition, education and safeguarding awareness to challenge gender stereotypes, strengthen confidence and resilience, and support girls affected by poverty, trauma, gender-based violence, FGM and child marriage, and preventing trafficking and exploitation. 

Our work is designed to shift attitudes in communities through soft power, while providing a safe space for girls to access sport without barriers, learn, lead and thrive.

• Sport for Social Impact: Using sport to challenge attitudes to gender, and to empower young women to build self-reliance, resilience, and confidence to achieve the same aspirations as the boys. 
• Education & Literacy: Closing the gap in literacy between boys and girls through targeted school sponsorship interventions. 
• Social Welfare: Beneficiary and community sensitisation in safeguarding and protection, targeting the most at-risk beneficiaries, and signposting pathways to social welfare and trauma-support stakeholders in-Country.

3. Job Description: Fundraising Trustee

Role Purpose:

The Fundraising Trustee will bring experienced fundraising insight to the Board, helping Girls in Sport strengthen its income-generation strategy, funding readiness and long-term sustainability. This is a strategic governance role, not an operational fundraising post. Working with fellow trustees and the programme lead, you will provide advice, constructive challenge and sector expertise to help us build a credible, diversified funding approach across trusts and foundations, institutional grants, high-value partnerships, major donors and aligned corporate supporters.

The right person will help professionalise our fundraising governance, strengthen Board capability and support good decision-making, while recognising that delivery capacity must be proportionate to an unpaid trustee commitment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Governance: Act as a member of the Board of Trustees, sharing legal and financial responsibility for the charity’s management.

·Fundraising Strategy: Advise on fundraising strategy and priorities, with particular focus on trusts and foundations, major donors, corporate partnerships and institutional opportunities.

·Income Generation Oversight: Champion fundraising at Board level, support informed decision-making and help identify opportunities, introductions or partnerships where appropriate.

• Compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to fundraising regulations and best practices, including the Code of Fundraising Practice.

·Ambassadorship: Act as a thoughtful ambassador for the charity, helping raise its profile and credibility within relevant philanthropic, charity and social impact networks.

4. Person Specification

Essential:

• Commitment to the charity’s mission and values regarding gender equality, sustainable development, and youth empowerment.
• Robust knowledge and experience of fundraising (e.g., trusts, corporates, or major donors).
• Strategic thinker, able to balance long-term planning with practical advice.
• Understanding of the legal duties and responsibilities of charity trusteeship.
• Experience of fundraising in an international development or small charity context.
• Existing networks that could support the charity’s fundraising efforts.

• Familiarity with Sierra Leone, West Africa or regional sub-Sahara socio-economic contexts and cross-border programming challenges in navigating funding and grant-making agencies

5. Commitment & Timeline

• Time Commitment: Approximately two hours per month.

Easy Housing Association (EHA) is a mission-driven Registered Social Landlord (RSL), committed to delivering safe, secure, and affordable homes for those who need them most. We are strengthening our Board of Trustees at an important moment for the organisation, and are seeking experienced, strategic individuals to join us across four specialist areas: supported housing operations, finance and viability, governance and charity law, and health & safety/compliance.

As a trustee, you will provide high level oversight, advise, challenge, and support EHA's leadership, and help us meet our legal obligations, protect tenant wellbeing, and maintain long-term sustainability, including through the regulatory improvement work set out below.

About Easy Housing Association and the Current Regulatory Position

Easy Housing Association (EHA) is a registered provider of social housing, regulated by the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH). In July 2025, RSH issued an Enforcement Notice concluding that EHA had not met the Governance and Financial Viability Standard and required EHA to commission an independent appraisal and deliver a board-approved action plan to address the issues identified.

As part of this process, RSH has made statutory appointments to EHA's Board to strengthen governance capacity, and EHA is separately recruiting an Interim Manager with statutory powers under the Enforcement Notice. EHA is committed to full transparency with RSH and to delivering the improvements required.

We are recruiting additional Non-Executive Directors as part of this strengthening of the Board. This is a genuine opportunity to bring specialist expertise to an organisation actively working through a defined improvement journey, with the backing and support of an engaged, RSH-appointed board and executive team. Candidates should be comfortable operating in a regulated, enforcement environment and bring the independence and rigour that context requires.

Time commitment

Trustees are expected to attend monthly board meetings (approximately 2.5 hours online) and commit an additional 4 hours per month to board-related duties, including reading papers, joining sub-committees, or contributing expertise.

NED — Governance & Charity Law

Non‑Executive Status: This is a non‑executive, governance‑only role. The postholder provides oversight and assurance but does not participate in operational management.

Purpose: Strengthen governance, regulatory compliance, and charity law oversight, ensuring EHA meets RSH and Charity Commission expectations.

This role directly supports EHA's governance improvement work, including its response to an ongoing Charity Commission matter, and requires a candidate comfortable providing rigorous, independent challenge.

Core Responsibilities:

· Provide assurance on governance frameworks, CC11, conflicts, and probity

· Support Board effectiveness, succession planning, and compliance

· Advise on charity law, constitutional matters, and regulatory reporting

· Strengthen oversight of policies, delegations, and decision‑making

· Provide scrutiny of governance risks

Essential Skills:

· Strong governance and charity law experience

· Knowledge of CC3, CC11, and regulatory expectations

· Experience supporting Boards through improvement or regulatory engagement

Desirable:

· Experience with Charity Commission investigations

We’re passionate about what we do, and love giving second-hand clothing a chance of going to a good home. Our shop teams are key to raising vital funds for our work and act as incredible advocates for the rights of children both in the UK and around the world.

Volunteering in the shop

Our Totnes Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

It’s a great opportunity to visit the shop, meet some of our existing volunteers and have a go at some of the tasks that you would be supporting with as a shop volunteer. Hopefully allowing you to get a feel for the role and make sure it’s for you. We also ask for a couple of references (these don’t have to be formal workplace ones, just someone who has known you for over 6 months and isn’t related).

What does it look like to Chair a charity at a pivotal moment of change?

Voluntary Action North Somerset (VANS) is an established infrastructure charity supporting, connecting and championing voluntary and community organisations across North Somerset and beyond.

With a strong local reputation and a clear ambition for the future, VANS plays a vital role in strengthening communities by bringing organisations together, amplifying collective voice, and enabling others to deliver impact.

Now, at an important point in its development, the organisation is focused on building on its strengths, refining how it works, and positioning itself to be futureproof. We’re looking for a new Chair to lead the charity into its next phase.

Location: Based in North Somerset working across the South West and beyond
Remuneration: Voluntary, with expenses covered

Time commitment: Governance commitment supported by a Vice-Chair. Currently, 4 Board meetings and 2 Development days per annum, 3-4 Governance group meetings, regular meetings with the CEO, as well as ad-hoc meetings, preparation and urgent matters arising.

The Froebel Trust is looking for two volunteers with a background in digital communications to join its Communications and Public Engagement Committee and help shape its work.

No previous committee experience is needed. You'll be supported to learn from others and to access training that suits your needs. You will need to commit around ten hours per year of voluntary time per year.

The Trust’s Communications and Public Engagement Committee members provide expertise in education, PR, marketing and communications. The committee advises the Trust’s Executive team on strategy and policy for the Froebel Trust's communication and public engagement activities. The committee reports to the Council of Trustees via the Communications and Public Engagement Committee Chair. 

Who we're looking for:

• An experienced communicator who can bring knowledge of digital communications tools and tactics, such as experience of using social media (Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn), websites, podcast and films to engage audiences.
• Ideally they will have a thoughtful approach to, and experience of AI tools
• Insight into the challenges and opportunities for communications in today’s rapidly changing digital world
• Interest in or experience of early childhood education
• Available to attend at least two 1.5 hour long meetings per year on Zoom, typically in March and October, with flexibility for an additional hour-long workshop style meeting. We also hold an annual training session for all Froebel Trust staff and volunteers, attendance is encouraged but optional.
• Experience of working in education and / or the charity sector, and knowledge of Froebelian principles is desirable but by no means essential.
• You will need to share our commitment to improving early years education.
• The Froebel Trust strives to be an inclusive organisation and therefore would particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups and people who can bring new perspectives and experiences to our team.

What you'll do

• Attend at least two meetings per year to help shape the strategic direction of the charity’s communications activities with particular emphasis on digital communications.
• Support and challenge the Executive Team to develop and deliver a new communications strategy in line with the Trust’s new strategy for 2027-2030.

How it works

• The Trust’s Communications and Public Engagement Committee has at least three members at any one time. We are seeking to replace two members whose terms of office expire this year. The committee is chaired by a trustee.
• The Communications and Public Engagement Committee meets at least twice per year on Zoom.
• Most meetings are on Tuesdays or Wednesdays 12pm-1.30pm, typically in March and October, with flexibility for an additional session.
• Committee members are also invited to attend annual Froebel Trust whole team training for around two hours on Zoom. This is optional but attendance is encouraged.

Terms

• The role is voluntary and unpaid but out-of-pocket expenses are covered, if applicable.
• Members of the Committee are generally appointed for a three-year term, with renewal subject to Council agreement up to a maximum of six years. In exceptional circumstances and where there is a clear benefit to the Trust, a member’s term of office may be extended beyond the maximum of six years, subject to Council approval.
