The Role
We're looking for a creative writer who can take information about our trips and turn it into engaging, inspiring and useful content for our website and social media channels. This isn't simply about writing descriptions of trips. We want someone who can capture the feeling of being there or write content to inspire someone to visit - the excitement, the people, the animals, the landscapes and the experiences that make an Adventures for Animals trip memorable.
You'll help us create content that makes someone think 'I want to do that!'
Content could include:

- 'What to expect' guides for individual trips
- Stories about our animal welfare projects
- Articles showcasing our guides, leaders, partners and volunteers

RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop content ideas - Help identify interesting stories, themes and content opportunities around our trips
Research - Research destinations and travel information to ensure content is accurate and engaging
Write and edit - Produce high quality original blog articles and website content in the Adventures for Animals tone of voice
Bring our trips to life - Work from trip itineraries, photographs, videos, testimonials, guide notes and team interviews to create authentic stories and experiences
Support social media - Write content with basic SEO principles in mind, including search intent, headings, keywords, internal linking opportunies and engaging titles/meta descriptions
Maintain consistency - Ensure all content reflects the Adventure for Animals brand, values and approach
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Excellent written english
- Proven experience writing engaging digital content
- Strong storytelling ability
- Excellent grammar, spelling and attention to detail
- Ability to research topics independently

About the Service
The Wellbeing Team at Age UK Sandwell supports people aged 50+ to improve their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing through social, physical and community activities. The service helps reduce loneliness and isolation by encouraging community connections, offering one-to-one support, befriending and signposting, and working with volunteers and local partners to help older people stay active, independent and connected.
About the Role
The volunteer for this social group will be responsible for facilitating weekly activity groups for older people. Specific tasks may include:
You will be supported by a staff member in the initial weeks to prepare you to run the group.
