• Keeping beneficiaries and the SSAFA regional office up to date with progress

At St John Ambulance, we are looking to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education. 

We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference, supporting them to become safe and more resilient by sharing your first aid skills and knowledge. As a Community First Aider, you’ll deliver first aid to those in need through local events, as well as provide education to the public so that the ripple effect of First Aid grows.

Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives. 

Through volunteering as a Community First Aider, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time. 

We will make sure you will have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. Do you want to help the youth of today become the lifesavers of tomorrow? We're on a mission to teach young people across the country how to save lives. It's a chance for them to learn important first aid skills in a fun, friendly, and safe environment. 

St John is one of the largest youth organisations in the country and many of our young volunteers go onto careers in health and/or social care. Being a youth volunteer helps young people develop skills and confidence that go on to help them with further education and university applications. To do this we need dedicated and enthusiastic youth helpers. Do you have 2 hours in an evening, once a week during school term times to join our fun loving youth team supporting and developing our young inspirational volunteers? No matter what your interests: Crafting, Singing/Dancing, History, Science or caring for people/animals, we welcome you to join us. Full training is provided. 

This is a great opportunity to develop your own skills, knowledge and build on your CV. All whilst having fun, making friends and supporting your community. 

Our Cadet programme gives young people aged to 11-18 years, to get involved in: • learning first aid • volunteering at local and national events • engaging in social action and helping their local community • learning about health and wellbeing • developing confidence and communication skills through Cadet leadership training • enjoying a wide range of outdoor and adventurous activities.

Community Engagement Volunteer

As a community engagement volunteer you and your fellow branch members will create a range of activities to help spread the word about SSAFA within your community. To ensure that that our Armed Forces community know that SSAFA are here to help and that we need the public’s support to continue offering our services.

· Identifying new fundraising and awareness opportunities

· Helping at events

· Delivering presentations to community groups, schools, etc through

· SSAFA’s speaker programme

· Social media marketing

Have a couple of hours to spare every two months? Are you a patient and friendly person? You could be just the person to make a huge difference.

We support a bubbly and interesting gentleman who would love a volunteer to go out with every two months. He has a range of interests that he would love to share with you.

He can often be found admiring the birds in his garden, with his camera in hand. He is also a big sports fan, supporting Manchester United in the football, among other sports. Don't worry, though, he happily talks about anything!

He is an active soul, enjoying walks and cycling. Above all, he would love to share some of his diverse interests with a friend. You don't need to share any of these interests, but if you did that would certainly be a bonus!

No experience with learning disabilities is needed for this role, just a friendly attitude.

Whether it be going out for lunch, a coffee, or just a walk, this is a great opportunity where you could make a real difference.

The Charity provides supported accommodation, advice, support & guidance to vulnerable, homeless young people. As a Trustee / Director, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our organisation towards success and helping us develop our business growth strategy. We are particularly seeking a trustee with safeguarding experiences.

To support the decision making at CAYSH, you will attend an average of 4 Board meetings and up to 4 Committee meetings a year, plus Trustee / Director away-days & other events, such as AGM. Meetings are held outside regular business hours and are mostly online. Events (including strategy days, AGM and service user get-togethers) usually take place at our offices in Croydon.

Our vision is for a more people-powered, affordable and resilient energy system, where communities across the Norwich area play an active part through community ownership, collective action and mutual support.

We provide advice and support to households to help them reduce energy use and move away from fossil fuels; and we work with local people to explore possibilities for a different kind of energy system – whether that’s community-owned renewables, heat networks or shared projects to save energy.

We are looking for someone with significant experience in safeguarding adults to join our board as Safeguarding Lead. Our team provides energy advice home visits, which involves unsupervised contact with people who may be vulnerable. We would like to strengthen our safeguarding expertise at board level to ensure our policies and procedures are adequate, and to enable us to respond effectively if issues arise.

You should have significant experience in safeguarding, either in a professional capacity or from another voluntary role.

In addition to your general responsibilities as a member of the Board, you will:

• Work with the Executive Director to review strategic plans and address any safeguarding considerations.
• Ensure the organisation’s safeguarding policies and procedures are reviewed annually and in line with any changes to legislation.
• Support the Executive Director to ensure staff have appropriate training and awareness of safeguarding.
• Support the Executive Director to raise safeguarding concerns where necessary
• Work with the Executive Director to respond to any safeguarding allegations against staff or volunteers.
• Be a point of contact for staff or volunteers if someone needs advice or wishes to raise a complaint about safeguarding.
• Keep your own knowledge of safeguarding up to date.

Are you a natural organiser who loves bringing people together for a good cause? As a Fundraising Group Leader at Canine Partners, you’ll lead a team of local volunteers to plan and deliver fun, impactful fundraising events in your community. From coffee mornings to dog shows, you’ll help shape the group’s activities, run monthly meetings, and keep everything running smoothly.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who is confident, friendly, and ready to make a difference. You’ll be the key link between your group and the Canine Partners fundraising team and will be supported every step of the way with training, resources, and expert guidance.

About the opportunity

This role involves taking on the responsibility for leading a group of fellow volunteers to arrange fundraising events in your local community. You would host regular group meetings to discuss upcoming activities and ensure plans are in place for events throughout the year.

We request that there should be a minimum requirement of one meeting per month, as well as additional planning and activity when required. However, the amount of time you commit depends on the nature of the activities held by the group.

What’s involved

• Leading a group of volunteers to organise fundraising events and activities to raise money for Canine Partners
• Ensuring the group is following the guidelines outlined in the Fundraising Group Handbook
• Being the main point of contact between the Fundraising Group and your Canine Partners Staff Contact
• Being the public face of Canine Partners within your local area
•  Passing leads to your Canine Partners Staff Contact

Role Requirements

• Age 18 or over
• Ability to motivate and organise a group of people to achieve a shared goal
• Access to your own transport with flexibility to visit different locations
• Polite, confident and personable manner
• Excellent customer service skills
•  Excellent record keeping skills
