We are looking for up to ten UK university students to join our volunteer Student Ambassadors team and help Ygam achieve its social purpose by reaching out to students at university. This will be achieved by advising Ygam on the needs of students, supporting with content development, organising activities at your campus, and join us at events to raise awareness of gaming and gambling harms.

We are seeking individuals who are outgoing, with a confident personality. You will enjoy engaging with other students and be able to advise us on the experiences of students with regards to gaming and gambling.

Volunteering in the shop

Our Lymington Shop Volunteers will be in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

Are you a HR professional? Could you give an hour a week to tackle pregnancy and maternity discrimination? Then we need you!

Every year our fantastic HR Advice Line volunteers speak to hundreds women and parents experiencing challenges or pregnancy and maternity discrimination at work. The Advice Line provides hours of free support and HR advice every week, however the demand for the service is high and we know that getting through can be difficult. That’s why we’re trialling a new online Advice Forum to help improve access to support and flexibility of our volunteer roles. But before we can make the forum public, we need to bring in a team of volunteers who are ready and waiting to answer questions. 

We are looking for knowledgable HR professionals who want to tackle the Motherhood Penaltyand support mothers and parents by becoming an Advice Forum Volunteer.

As a volunteer advisor you’ll give an hour a week of your time to respond to questions on the Advice Forum. You’ll use your HR knowledge and experience to respond to posts and give advice that can help people identify and challenge pregnancy and maternity discrimination in the workplace. You’ll also be joining us at the start of this brand new service and will have an essential role in helping us monitor, evaluate and learn from the forum trial, with the goal of establishing it as a permanent PTS Support Service. 

About the role

Role Title: Advice Forum Volunteer

Time Commitment

The Advice Forum will be available online 24/7, and so volunteering as a forum advisor is flexible and can fit around your schedule. We ask that you are able to commit at least one hour a week for a minimum of three months.

Alternative time commitments can be considered and discussed, so please do include any information that might be useful in your application form.

Main Role Purpose

Advice Forum Volunteers play a vital role in providing accessible support and guidance to working parents facing unfair treatment or discrimination in the workplace. Volunteers will respond to forum questions and posts, offering advice and signposting information about employee rights. You will also coordinate with the PTS staff team and other volunteers to ensure all forum questions are responded to, and will have the opportunity to contribute to the forum’s development.

Essential requirements

• Minimum CIPD level 5 Diploma in People Management with one professional reference.
• Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and policies related to pregnancy, maternity leave, and discrimination.
• Access to a reliable and secure WIFI or Internet connection and a mobile device or computer/laptop.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Comfortable using online communication tools.
• Commitment to completing all required volunteer training.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to forum questions from individuals seeking support and advice.
• Provide HR advice and guidance in a clear and concise way to support forum users with their enquiries.
• Signpost to further information and other support organisations if necessary.
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions, adhering to all Pregnant Then Screwed guidelines and policies.
• Complete all training required by PTS.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a distinctive and values-driven organisation. We are seeking a new Treasurer to join the Board of Trustees and play a crucial role in supporting the organisation’s sustainable future. While prior knowledge of brain injury is not required, the Treasurer is expected to demonstrate an interest in  brain injury, as well as in the Headway community, and to share the organisation’s mission and values.

The Treasurer will lead on the financial strategy, work closely with the Director of Finance, ensuring that financial insight informs the Board’s strategic thinking. This will include thorough pre-review of financial reports ahead of each Board meeting, chairing Finance & Audit Committee meetings, and presenting financial reports to the Board and at the AGM.

• 1:1 or group Hypnotherapy sessions for residents

Support

•  Volunteers receive a thorough induction and have access to any relevant in-house and external training.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Reading Volunteer, you will spend time reading with and supporting people we support to enjoy books, stories, magazines, poetry, and conversation. This could include:

• Reading aloud in a relaxed and friendly way
• Supporting people to choose books and topics they enjoy
• Encouraging communication, confidence, and imagination
• Sharing laughter, conversation, and meaningful one-to-one time
• Helping create a calm and enjoyable reading experience

Whether it’s a favourite childhood story, an audiobook, or discovering something new together, your time will help bring books to life.

Are you a big football fan who enjoys playing football as well as watching it?

We are looking for volunteer football enthusiasts to both play football and enjoy talking all things football with someone with learning disabilities and or autism.  As a volunteer you will need to be able to volunteer for a couple of hours each week.

What does the role involve?

Our football volunteers will enjoy spending time having a kick about, perhaps watching a game on TV and perhaps having a post-match discussion. Trips to watch the odd live game would also be an enjoyable experience for the people we support.

This is a highly flexible role, and you can choose how you’d like to get involved. Opportunities include:

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping at fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, and monitoring collection tins
• Online fundraising – setting up online appeals and writing engaging cat case studies to maximise donations
• Marketing and promotion – spreading the word about fundraising activities via social media and local press
• Administration – processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, and completing Gift Aid paperwork
• Championing our work – helping to develop new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement
• Photography – capturing images of cats in care, cats we’re helping, fundraising events, and all things Cats Protection

This role is flexible and designed to fit around your other commitments. You’ll be part of a friendly team raising vital funds — and having fun along the way.
