About the Role:

Overview of the role
Warrington Foodbank are seeking someone to take the lead in organising and monitoring the work of our Board of Trustees, liaising between members to ensure our strategy and operations remain on track. As our Secretary of Trustees you will lead the administrative duties of the Board of Trustees, ensuring that its activities are conducted within the legal requirements, with board meetings being properly administered.
Responsibilities
As a trustee you will share collective responsibility for the governance of the food bank and all decisions made by the board, ensuring the organisation is well run, fulfils its mission, is compliant with charity law and that the charity is open and accountable.
The Secretary of Trustees is responsible for leading on the administrative duties of the food bank and Board of Trustees. They will ensure that the foodbank’s activities are conducted within legal requirements, and that board meetings are properly administered. The Secretary will also lead on the development and management of policy schedules, ensuring that the Board of Trustees are aware and kept up to date regarding their legal, regulatory, and governance responsibilities.
Key tasks:

to ensure that there is a record of all Trustee Board correspondence to ensure that details of Trustee meetings are circulated to the board together with minutes of the previous meeting and any other instructions in good time to ensure the trustee board meets its legal obligations, including reporting, meeting charity and company law, as well as insurance requirements

Locate International are looking to expand our Media Team on a completely voluntary basis, with an average time commitment of around six hours per week.
Founded in 2019, we assist families in locating loved ones from unsolved missing persons cases and in identifying unknown deceased individuals.
By recruiting three volunteers - each specialising in TikTok, YouTube or Reddit - we can spread more breadcrumbs & ensure every case we take on has the best possible chance of being solved.
Our Media Team is a close-knit group of volunteers who meet via Zoom every Tuesday evening at 7pm (for one hour). Attendance at these meetings is important so we can support our Investigation Teams, plan appeals, and create a clear plan of action for the weeks ahead. We appreciate that availability can vary, but we ask that you attend as many sessions as possible to stay connected with the team and cases.
You will champion your platform - posting, monitoring engagement, and coming up with fresh ideas to help raise awareness of our cases. Sometimes this will be broad-reach content; other times it will involve niching down to target specific audiences who may hold vital missing pieces of the puzzle.
Everyone who volunteers with Locate International shares the belief that everybody deserves a name, and no family should endure the uncertainty of a missing loved one.

TikTok Content Creator
Someone who understands trends, who can hook viewers in the first few seconds and encourage comments and sharing. You must be confident editing content directly within TikTok.
YouTube Content Creator
Someone who can create engaging, informative videos that encourage interaction. You should be confident with professional video editing, understand branding, and know how to craft compelling titles and optimise tags. Viral potential is a big plus.
Reddit Content Creator
A significant percentage of our website traffic comes from Reddit, yet we don’t currently have an official presence there. If you understand Reddit etiquette, the do’s and don’ts, and what’s involved in creating and managing subreddits - we need you.

We have an ever-growing Community Network of vegans just like you, who have a passion to volunteer and promote veganism where they live.
Every month, our Network choose from a range of outreach tasks. These could include town centre stalls, writing to a councillor or MP, sharing our campaigns on social media or contacting local businesses. You're in control of how much or how little you do.
As an Advocate, you will have a network of other Advocates and an Organiser in your area. Your Organiser will be your main point of contact. They will send you tasks every month and ask you to feed back on what you've completed and any positive outcomes.
Why do we need you to volunteer?
As the vegan community grows, veganism itself becomes better understood. We're finding that more people are looking to The Vegan Society to find out what being vegan is all about.
Local communities are starting to see the vegan movement as something real and something that’s happening in their area. More people are embracing a vegan lifestyle, which we welcome. From new businesses, to families, to councillors, many people need support. This could be with a range of topics: going vegan, finding correct information around a vegan diet, providing vegan options in their business, MPs listening to vegan constituents, and learning about our work.
Local issues are often unique and more varied than national issues. Our volunteers from local areas are vital! They enable us to share our messages and campaigns in an effective way. Research tells us that people are far more likely to trust information from a peer rather than an outside expert, so community volunteering vastly increases the impact of our campaigns.
Our network of committed local vegans across the country is growing! The Vegan Society organises various outreach activities to influence change in every level of society. There are a range of activities going on all the time, from general educational stalls at events to meeting with local policy influencers.
Advocates are a crucial voice in their own community. They ensure that our campaign messages are spread far and wide. They provide a strong vegan presence in local communities.
What does the Advocate role involve?
Being an Advocate for veganism with The Vegan Society will mean communicating with people in your local community. You'll share the benefits of a vegan lifestyle. You will form part of a local group, headed up by a local Organiser. The Organiser will feed back your collective efforts to staff. You will also be invited to our private Facebook group, for vegan socialising and ideas sharing.
You’ll stay in touch with the Organiser and bring your passion to tasks. Activities can range from staffing a stall to giving a talk at an employee event. It could also mean writing to a local newspaper or lobbying an MP.
Messaging can differ every month. Part of our mission statement is to ensure people can remain vegan, so you might focus on getting more vegan options available in local businesses. Or within our Live Vegan for Less campaign, you may share cheap vegan recipes to help people with the cost of living.
When acting as an Advocate, you will use The Vegan Society’s branding and messaging guidelines. Your local Organiser will guide you in doing this, as they hold physical resources and handbooks. You can report any issues and feedback you have to your Organiser. You can also contact staff if your Organiser isn't available or you have any problems.
What training and support is available?
You will be provided with a big welcome and full induction from your local Organiser. They will introduce you to the group and any actions that are ongoing. Any training and development will be provided via your Organiser, and you can also ask for specific training on any areas that you need some development in.

Do you want to support and improve the running of our services for older people, with an oversight of our building?
You could be a trustee for Sandhurst Day Centre Association, our charity that provides activities and social time for local older people, in our bespoke Centre.
Developed in the 1970s and first Registered in 1983, the charity is an unincorporated Association, with work in progress to become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
In 2024, the Centre turned over ~£300k, an increase from previous years, with a small surplus made. The Centre Manager, employees and volunteers are responsible for day-to-day running, while trustees offer strategic oversight of operations, planning for the future.
The role and what we are looking for in a new trustee
Trustees are the people who make the top-level decisions for our charity. Our Board includes people with experience in services for older people, and we’d expect all trustees to have empathy with our cause and our beneficiaries.
We are looking for a new trustee to add additional professional input to the running of the building and its facilities. The role will aid the Centre Manager by offering analyses of Health & Safety, building management and the physical environment. You will bring relevant knowledge, skills and experience in these and associated areas.
You don’t necessarily need prior experience of charity trusteeship, as full induction to our organisation will be provided, plus specialist support as a new trustee including access to external training.
If you can think strategically and plan long-term, you have the primary skills needed by our trustees; you’ll also need to be able to work collectively with other Board members. Support from our paid employees is always available, as they will be dealing with the day-to-day running of the organisation.
We are a charity not a business, but we apply business principles to governing our organisation. We are looking for people from a variety of backgrounds to join our charity. We want to expand the diversity of our board, in all meanings of the word, and strongly welcome applications from people from less-represented groups.
The focus of a trustee role is strategic, and trustees will not be expected to get involved in the organisation’s operations on a day-to-day basis; however, contact and liaison with other trustees, volunteers and employees is expected.
We ask for about five hours per month, which includes all meetings, discussions, etc. You will need access to digital communications, as much of our charity’s business is run that way.

This role provides strategic insight, challenge, and support to the Quality and Performance Committee, with a specific focus on race equity and broader EDIB issues. The role will help ensure the charity’s services and internal practices are aligned with the NHS Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework (PCREF) and tailored to meet the unique needs of the communities we serve.
As a minimum, co-opted members are expected to prepare for and attend all meetings of the relevant committee. Committee meetings are held quarterly and are up to two hours in duration.
Additionally, it would be beneficial, for the co-opted member to attend Leeds Mind’s Race Equity Steering Group on a bi-monthly basis where possible to enhance understanding of developing strategic and operational work.
Key tasks & responsibilities
• Strategic Oversight & Advice
- Advise on the integration of race equity and EDI principles into the charity’s quality assurance and performance frameworks.
- Support alignment with the PCREF while adapting approaches to reflect the charity’s values, mission, and community needs.
• Service Equity
- Provide scrutiny and guidance on how services are designed, delivered, and evaluated to ensure equitable access, experience, and outcomes for racialised and marginalised communities.
- Champion culturally responsive and trauma-informed care models.
• Workforce Equity
- Advise on HR practices, workforce development, and organisational culture to promote race equity and inclusion.
- Support the charity in developing inclusive recruitment, retention, and progression strategies.
• Data & Impact
- Support the committee in interpreting and using data to monitor disparities, drive improvement, and measure impact.
- Promote the use of lived experience and qualitative insights alongside quantitative metrics.
• Governance & Accountability
- Contribute to the committee’s assurance role by challenging assumptions, identifying risks, and promoting transparency in equity-related performance.
- Ensure the charity remains accountable to the communities it serves, particularly those most affected by mental health inequalities.

Introduction:
The Wensum Catchment Partnership (WCP) is seeking an inspiring and visionary chair with a genuine passion for the Wensum. Working with partners, they will bring the confidence, motivation and enthusiasm needed to help shape a shared strategic vision that leads to meaningful improvements in the catchment.
The River Wensum is a calcareous lowland river with SSSI and SAC designations that, despite protections, fails to meet its Water Framework Directive targets. Established in 2018, the WCP brings local people and organisations together to identify and deliver the interventions that help create a healthy, thriving catchment. The partnership has been recently restructured to ensure decisions are informed by data and evidence, with a strong focus on working with key partners to turn these into action on the ground.
Job Description:
WCP recognises the value of having an independent and proactive Chair to lead its quarterly catchment meetings and monthly Strategy and Management meetings.
The Chair of the WCP needs to be enthusiastic about unlocking the full potential of the restructured partnership, support the aims of the catchment and play a key role in bringing about positive changes in the catchment.
We believe this role will be ideal for someone who is working in, or has worked in, large or complex professional environments or academia but now wants to provide volunteer work that will benefit the environment and the community.
This is an unpaid volunteer role.
Key Responsibilities:
· Leadership and strategy: Helping to develop and define a strategic vision for recovery in the Wensum and enabling restoration action in the catchment.
· Meeting management: Liaising with the Wensum Catchment Officer to plan and organise meetings, setting agendas and facilitating constructive debate within meetings.
· Facilitation: Guide the members of the WCP to consensus and effective decisions, being considerate of diverse perspectives.
· Communication and representation: Represent the WCP at external partnership meetings and act as a public spokesperson for the organisation.
· Team building: Working in partnership and collaboration with members of the WCP.

Essential:
· The ability to plan, facilitate and ensure orderly conduct of meetings, online and in person, to guide the WCP towards its strategic objectives.

As finance lead trustee, you’ll lead the development and review of the charity’s financial plan and its investment strategy, manage investment funds and deposit accounts and support and advise the trustee board on investment and finance matters, including financial compliance. You’ll also undertake some treasurer responsibilities by preparing and maintaining accounting records, financial reports and annual financial statements.
We are looking for an individual with experience leading the financial management of an SME or division of a medium to large organisation. You will bring good independent judgement and strategic vision, whilst offering support and challenge to the board.
Trustee with governance & compliance experience
As governance & compliance lead trustee, you’ll support and advise the trustee board on governance and risk management. You will lead on risk management for the charity and on policy development and review. You’ll also undertake some secretary responsibilities, ensuring compliance with our constitution, charity law and regulations.
We are looking for an individual with experience in leading on governance, compliance or company secretarial duties in a commercial or not for profit setting, who has some knowledge of UK charity law and best practice and, if not current, readiness to learn and develop. This person could bring experience as a company secretary, legal, board secretary or risk and compliance/governance professional.
Our trustees are passionate about countryside protection. You will bring strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively and a commitment to our charitable aims. Previous trustee experience is not required as we provide comprehensive training and support.
