NICOLA Arts is an artist-led charity and community space based in London, supporting young creatives, artists and local communities through art, culture and social projects. We are looking for volunteers to support our shop and community space, helping with daily activities, customer service, visual displays and the organisation of events, exhibitions and creative workshops. The difference you will make to cats and people
Without the passionate and committed teams of volunteers across Cats Protection we wouldn’t be able to help the thousands of cats and kittens each year that rely on us for help. Life in a rescue environment is never ideal for any cat compared to a loving home. Our cat adoption team leaders support cat homing and as part of this they may lead a team of volunteer home visitors who collectively play an important part in matching our feline friends with their new families. Our cat adoption team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

What we need from you
You’ll be:
- Acting as the main point of contact within the team for cat adoption enquiries via email/telephone and social media
- Supporting the adoption process through either homefinder questionnaires or a small team of home visitors
- Liaising closely with other volunteers to ensure information on cats being helped is correct and up to date
- Following up on any post-adoption queries
- Play an active part in the volunteer committee, being part of the team leading on cat adoption information and updates
- Collaborating with the cat welfare team leader to ensure the highest standards of cat care are applied in line with Cats Protection policy and procedures
Time expectation
The cat adoption team leader role is vital within our busy volunteer teams. Our current volunteers spend around 10 to 12 hours per week in this flexible role, which can be shared by more than one volunteer if required.

Key Responsibilities
- Set and uphold the strategic direction of the charity

Legal Duties
Trustees share collective responsibility for:

Skills & Experience We Are Seeking
We are seeking individuals with senior-level expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Safeguarding & Social Care - senior experience in social work, education, health, early years or family support services, with strong safeguarding expertise.
- Supply Chain, Logistics & Warehousing - experience in logistics, operations, warehousing, fulfilment, or supply chain transformation.
- Digital Transformation & Data Governance - experience delivering digital systems, data governance, cyber security or operational technology.
- Circular Economy & Environmental Leadership - background in sustainability, reuse, recycling, environmental strategy or circular economy innovation.
- Corporate Retail, FMCG & Surplus Partnerships - senior experience within retail, manufacturing or FMCG, particularly in surplus, ESG or supply chain partnerships.
- Social Enterprise & Scale-Up Leadership - experience growing mission-led organisations, trading models or hybrid charities.

Timeline:
- We are recruiting Trustees on a rolling basis to allow flexibility and to ensure we appoint the right people at the right time as the organisation continues to grow.

- Appointments will be made on a rolling basis, with new Trustees formally ratified at the next appropriate Board meeting or Annual General Meeting (AGM), in line with our constitution.

At WWT we shape unforgettable experiences. At heart we are warm, welcoming and genuine. In our Waterside Cafe we do this by offering a delicious selection of home cooked food and chilled drinks, served and assisted by our friendly team of staff and volunteers.
We are looking for volunteers who can support our team in the Waterside Cafe and ensure we offer excellent customer service to our visitors.
Working alongside the Kitchen Manager and catering team to provide an inviting and relaxing environment in between gorgeous walks and beautiful sights.
Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team. You'll get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and anything else you need.
About You
To carry out this role, you will need:
- Good verbal communication skills
- Some understanding around H&S within a catering environment
- To enjoy working as part of a team
- Good general fitness as this role involves spending periods of time on your feet and may involve lifting
- To be reliable and committed to the role and the team
- An interest in and enthusiasm for the work of WWT
