Our Challenge

Brain tumours do not discriminate. They can strike anyone, at any age and they strike quickly. At The Brain Tumour Charity, we aim to address the clear gap in emotional support available to those affected by a brain tumour diagnosis. We know the difference that talking therapy can make to the brain tumour community and our goal is to reach more people, ensuring everyone that wants it, gets the support that they need.

How can you help?
As a Volunteer Counsellor for this service, you would work with a wide range of clients who either have a brain tumour diagnosis themselves, or have a loved one who has been diagnosed. This includes patients/carers who have been newly diagnosed, to those in/post treatment, to people at end of life, or bereaved.

This is a remote service, where we offer up to 8 free sessions to clients, delivered by either telephone or webcam.
 

We’re looking for counsellors who:

• Are qualified with a minimum of a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling
• Are integrative or person-centred counsellors
• Are a member of the BACP (or equivalent ethical body)
• Are committed to attend monthly clinical supervision
• Have an interest in working with people affected by a brain tumour and possibly experience of working with clients in a similar field. (Eg. Neurological conditions, palliative care, bereavement, etc.)
• Have the IT abilities to be able to maintain appropriate and accurate records on our counselling database.
• Have experience of working remotely, via telephone or webcam and is happy to use their own laptop, phone and WIFI for their client work.
• Have their own public liability insurance (or are willing to obtain this.)

What can you gain from volunteering with us?

• Management supervision and regular, ongoing support from our Counselling Service Team.
• You will receive a financial contribution towards your monthly clinical supervision
• All diary management will be carried out by our Counselling Team, reducing the amount of admin required by you.

Time commitment

We ask each Volunteer Counsellor to commit to a placement of at least 6 months and to see a minimum of 3 clients per week (at a time suitable for you, but it MUST be at the same time each week). The service operates between the hours of 9am—5pm, Monday-Friday and you will be required to see clients within these hours.

Practical Considerations

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to attend an interview with our Counselling Service Manager and Counselling Service Officer.

Successful candidates will then receive a full induction to The Brain Tumour Charity and any specific training for the role, as well as ongoing support from one of the team. 

We will carry out reference and DBS checks for all successful applicants and you will be required to complete some internal data protection and disclosure documentation before commencing the role.

Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Whatever your skill set, this role could be perfect for you! 

What can I expect to be doing? 

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following: 

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with our fundraising events, attending supermarket collections or local markets. 

• Distributing collection tins – popping collection tins into local shops and pubs and collecting them when they’re full. 

• Bringing new ideas! - We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life. 

• Engaging with your local branches and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team! 

What are the benefits to you and the cats? 

You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge though Cats Protection’s learn online system, providing you with the skills to thrive as a fundraiser.  You’ll also have the chance to meet new people and be part of a dedicated team of volunteers.

Southwark Tenants’ Federation – Grassroots Housing Advice Charity

About Us

We are a small grassroots charity based in Southwark and the only surviving tenants’ federation in London. For decades, we have supported tenants and residents to defend their housing rights, challenge poor conditions, and have a collective voice in decisions that affect their homes and communities.

Our social housing advice service supports people facing homelessness, disrepair, evictions, and housing management issues, with a strong focus on empowerment and tenant-led action.

The Role

We are seeking a Volunteer Grant Officer to help us secure funding to sustain and grow our vital work. This role is crucial to keeping an independent, tenant-led voice alive in London.

You will work closely with a small, committed team and help ensure our advice service remains accessible to local residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Research grant funding opportunities suitable for a grassroots, tenant-led organisation
• Draft and submit grant applications to trusts, foundations, and statutory funders
• Maintain a simple funding pipeline and track deadlines
• Work with staff and volunteers to gather service data, outcomes, and case studies
• Assist with basic funder monitoring and reporting

About You

Essential:

• Strong written communication skills
• Good organisational skills and reliability
• Commitment to social justice and housing rights

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience of grant writing or fundraising
• Knowledge of social housing, tenant organisations, or advice services

About Us

The International Humanity Foundation (IHF) is a 501(c)(3) international non-profit

organization founded in 2001. We provide education and safe Children's Homes to

impoverished children in Indonesia, Kenya, and Thailand through our five IHF Centers.

Volunteer Role

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team at the IHF Indonesia Center in

Bali. Volunteers will gain invaluable experience in international team leadership,

coordination of center activities, and engagement with the local community.

Responsibilities

What We Offer

● Global Leadership Development (GLD): A one-year training program equipping

you with skills to run an international organization as a director.

● Stipend:

○ $35/month for the first 3 months

○ $65/month for months 4-6

○ $85/month for months 7-9

○ $100/month for months 10-12

● Potential Employment: After one year of successfully completing the GLD

training, volunteers may be considered for employment positions within the

organization, if available.

Become a fundraising volunteer team leader!

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

What we need from you

You'll be:

• supporting and encouraging a team of fundraising volunteers
• planning fundraising events and activities with your team
• allocating tasks before and during fundraising events
• keeping financial records from fundraising events
• encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection
• following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – VOLUNTEER

REMIX is a start‑up, youth‑led social mobility charity transforming young lives across London. Based in Shoreditch, we empower young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to unlock their potential, build confidence, and develop essential life skills through nurturing mentorship, inspiring role models, and transformative opportunities.

We are in the early stages of building something bold, vibrant, and community‑powered — and we’re looking for a visionary CEO who can lead REMIX through its start‑up phase and into a thriving, sustainable future.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate, entrepreneurial, and people‑centred Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to drive REMIX forward with clarity, ambition, and heart. As a start‑up charity, we are building our programmes, culture, systems, partnerships, and long‑term strategy — and your leadership will be central to shaping every part of our journey.

This is a hands‑on, collaborative role for someone who thrives in early‑stage environments, enjoys building from the ground up, and believes deeply in youth empowerment and social mobility.

Time commitment: 5–10 hours per week, including:

• Bi‑monthly Board meetings

• Working groups and leadership sessions

• CEO duties, planning, partnership‑building, and organisational development

Key Responsibilities

As CEO, you will:

• Provide inspiring, strategic leadership as REMIX grows from start‑up to established charity.

• Work closely with the Board of Trustees to develop our vision, programmes, and long‑term strategy.

• Build strong relationships with partners, funders, community organisations, and stakeholders.

• Lead on operational planning, programme development, and organisational systems.

• Shape REMIX’s culture — empowering volunteers, uplifting young people, and championing our values.

• Oversee safeguarding, risk management, and compliance with charity regulations.

• Represent REMIX externally with confidence, warmth, and credibility.

• Drive innovation, opportunity, and growth across all areas of the charity.

This role blends leadership, creativity, operational oversight, and community engagement — perfect for someone who enjoys variety and impact.

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need previous CEO experience — we welcome people stepping into senior leadership for the first time. What matters most is your passion, your drive, and your ability to lead with purpose.

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about social mobility, youth empowerment, and fairness.

• Entrepreneurial, proactive, and excited by building something new.

• A strong communicator with excellent people skills.

• Confident working collaboratively with Trustees, volunteers, and partners.

• Equally comfortable working independently and taking initiative.

• Organised, reliable, and committed to our mission.

• Compassionate, emotionally intelligent, and community‑minded.

Experience in charity leadership, youth work, programme development, fundraising, or organisational growth is beneficial — but not essential if you bring strong leadership potential and a willingness to learn.
