We are looking for a proactive and passionate Volunteer Project & Outreach Assistant to work closely with our Director and support the growth and delivery of our community initiatives.

This is a flexible opportunity (1–2 days per week, remote and/or in-person) ideal for someone looking to gain practical experience in the charity sector, social enterprise, or community development.

Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. You will also meet new people, make new friends and be part of a dedicated team of volunteers. You will be supported and guided from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Detailed description

Having access to a secure garden or outdoor area can be crucial for providing opportunities to socialise and relax, which can be invaluable for the mental well-being of our residents.

The gardening and growing volunteer will support our accommodation sites in maintaining their outdoor spaces, including:

·Weeding

·Sweeping

·Pruning

·Clearing leaves and large twigs

·Watering plants

·Planting bulbs and tidying up flower beds

We would love for this to be an opportunity to involve our residents and potentially lead a gardening activity with them, equipping them with knowledge and skills to maintain their own green spaces in the future. 

You will need:

• Enjoy working outside in all weathers.
• An interest/basic knowledge of gardening
• Role requires some degree of physical work and lifting/manual handling
• To work under your own initiative.
• Good communication skills
• Opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills

A full induction to the service and specific site will be provided as well as access to training and events throughout the year!

Some sites have basic tools however any additional tools and material required can be discussed with your volunteer manager .

You will be required to under go a Disclosure and Barring Service check and provide details of 2 x referees

As a Community Outreach Volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in helping people in Havering know where to turn when they need urgent mental health support. You’ll be out and about in the community spreading the word about the Havering Crisis Café — chatting to local people, connecting with community centres, faith groups and local organisations, and sharing information through leaflets and posters. This is a great role for someone confident, friendly and passionate about making support more visible and accessible in the community.

What you will be doing

• Promoting the Havering Crisis Café within the local community
• Visiting community centres, libraries, GP surgeries, faith settings and other local spaces
• Handing out leaflets and displaying posters

As a volunteer Receptionist, you will be a welcoming face within our Isabel Blackman Centre (IBC) Reception team. The Isabel Blackman Centre (IBC) provides a restaurant, leisure facilities, activities and events space, treatment rooms, and a community shop within the heart of the Old Town, Hastings.

You will have a sociable attitude, be reliable and honest, empathic, a good listener, and have a love of meeting and greeting new people. You will be presenting a smart and professional image, whilst, ensuring all clients and visitors feel welcome and valued when they visit or contact the Isabel Blackman Centre (IBC).

You will also be multi-tasking by assisting with supporting telephone enquiries and getting involved with general administration. You will need to be willing to maintain a good working knowledge of services and facilities provided by the centre, and be comfortable with taking bookings and handling cash and credit card transactions. You will need to be educated to GCSE level or equivalent in English and Mathematics, and competent in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Outlook, and Excel.

The time commitment required is usually a minimum of three hours per week, but we’re also happy to have more flexible times. We will provide all the training and support that you need and reimburse the cost of any reasonably incurred out-of-pocket expenses.

Chair of Trustees - The Family Place Foundation

We are recruiting a new Chair of Trustees to lead our Board and support the next stage of our charity’s development.

Location: Remote, with occasional in‑person trustee meetings (typically once or twice a year) held in the Clyro/Herefordshire area.

What You’ll Do

As a UCAN Enfield Ambassador, you’ll play a key role in helping people find out about and engage with the UCAN project, which promotes healthy lifestyle changes through free exercise, nutrition and wellbeing sessions. You’ll help support sessions on the day and raise awareness in the community.

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Join Vault Youth Zone as a Volunteer Youth Worker and help create a fun, welcoming, and engaging space for young people aged 8–19 (up to 25 for young people with additional needs). Volunteers support the Recreation & Engagement team in delivering activities such as pool, table tennis, board games, challenges, group discussions, themed projects, and social activities.

As a volunteer, you will help young people build confidence, make friends, develop new skills, and feel part of a positive community. You will encourage participation, promote our values, and act as a positive role model while working alongside our team of youth workers.

No previous youth work experience is required. Ongoing support and training will be provided.
