Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil CIC is a grassroots movement committed to confronting and eradicating Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) across the UK.
We give survivors, families, and allies the power to speak out, heal, and educate communities through storytelling, outreach, and collective action.

We work across all communities — Black, white, Asian, Caribbean, African and beyond — ensuring no survivor feels alone or silenced.

Our CIC operates through a community-driven, volunteer-led structure, built by people who believe in truth, justice, and love as law.

The Role – Social Media Director (Team Lead)

Lead the organisation’s social media function to build an online community, drive engagement, connect with diverse audiences, and use social media metrics to strengthen organisational performance and improve efficiency.
 

Main Responsibilities / Key Duties

• Develop and execute social media strategies that communicate the CIC’s message, increase visibility, and ensure consistency across platforms.

• Build and maintain an active online community, ensuring engagement is respectful, relevant, and supportive.

• Lead and support the social media team, providing guidance, motivation, and opportunities for growth.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on projects, messaging, timelines, and organisational goals.

• Maintain quality control to ensure all content is accurate, on-brand, and reflective of the CIC’s values.

• Manage content schedules, ensuring timely planning, production, and publishing across platforms with regular team check-ins.

• Engage with audiences online, responding to comments, messages, and conversations in a timely and professional manner.

• Lead the launch of social media campaigns for awareness, advocacy, marketing, and fundraising.

• Track performance of posts, campaigns, and team progress to measure engagement, reach, and achievement of targets.

• Train and support the team, ensuring clarity on goals, timelines, tools, best practices, and evolving platform features.
   

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar social media leadership role.

• Strong team leadership and management skills.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and community-building capabilities.

• Extensive knowledge of major social media platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X/Twitter, etc.).

• Ability to understand and apply social media analytics, metrics, data analysis, and reporting.

• Knowledge of social media best practices, content formats, platform compliance, charity regulations, and GDPR.

• Skills in social media strategy, content planning, branding, and community engagement.

• Ability to mentor, guide, and support a volunteer social media team.

• Creativity, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of emerging trends.

Hybrid role (remote with occasional in-person meetings).

Ideally based in London, or within up to 3 hours travel distance for team activities, meetings and events.

We are looking for volunteers to support us at our exciting Play & Learn Toddler Sessions across Bedford however we are particularly keen for volunteers to support at the following sessions:

Wixams - 1st & 3rd Monday (Term Time Only) - 9.30-11am

Thurleigh - 2nd Monday (Term time Only) - 10-11.30am

Wootton - 3rd Thursday (Term Time Only) - 1.30-2.45pm

If you would like to volunteer and you are worried about childcare, please feel free to bring your other child/children to the session too! We are fully flexible with supporting parents in their volunteering journey. 

We want to ensure all families feel valued and welcome and some of the activities you will be doing include: 

• To support the engagement of parents in their child/ren’s development and learning.

• Setting up and tidying away activities

• Engage and play with the children 

• Engage with the parents/carers through conversation

• Lead on specific activities if desired

• Support the planning and evaluation of sessions with Children Centre staff

• To support Children Centre staff in registering families by handing our and supporting families completing our registration form

• To promote ECP/One YMCA values and ethos

• Knowledge and experience of working with young children and/or families would be preferred as this is a very hands on role!

Training and support will be provided throughout your journey, we look forward to welcoming you to the ECP family!

As an Adult Carers Activities Volunteer, you support adults aged 25 and over who juggle demanding caring roles. You help them enjoy time for themselves through group sessions, meet ups, wellbeing activities, workshops, and social events across Solihull. Your support creates calm, safe spaces where carers can connect with others and focus on their own wellbeing.

What you do
• Help staff set up and run planned group activities.

This role is both strategic and practical. You will design content, publish content, host online discussions and actively manage platforms.

You will lead and set clear strategy, direction and plans for Emerge Worldwide’s Social Media communications, create engaging content, supervise the Team and encourage community mobilisation.

• Language, Messaging & Communications Collaboration

Work closely with the Communications Department to ensure:

• Trauma-informed and safeguarding-aware language
• Consistent tone of voice

Alignment with policy and campaign messaging

• Review and refine messaging before publication where necessary.
• Ensure sensitive topics are handled ethically and responsibly and all information meets safeguarding, confidentiality and GDPR standards.
• Cross-Department Collaboration

Collaborate with all Emerge Worldwide departments

• Translate departmental work into engaging digital content.
• Support campaign launches and digital activations.

Analytics & Growth

• Monitor analytics and produce monthly performance reports and feed into quarterly impact reports.
• Optimise content based on insights.
• Grow reach, engagement and supporter conversion.

What are we looking for?

• Experience managing and actively posting across social media platforms.
• Strong graphic design capability (Canva or equivalent).
• Experience creating and editing short-form video content.
• Ability to write compelling, engaging, trauma-informed content.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to transform small snippets of information into interesting and engaging stories suitable for Social Media platforms
• Experience collaborating with communications teams on tone and messaging.
• Experience working across teams and gathering content from stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage content calendars.
• Passion for ending sexual exploitation and trafficking.
• A motivated, enthusiastic individual who is has proven working experience and is passionate about social media and marketing, and producing tangible results.
• Good interpersonal skills dealing with people sensitively and respectfully from a wide range of backgrounds.
• Strong strategic development, project management and articulate communication skills.
• Experience of managing a team and projects
• Experience of managing multiple campaigns, with excellent organisational and time management skills, delivering effective targeted outcomes

A strong online presence builds trust with survivors, professionals, schools, corporates and policymakers — opening doors for training, partnerships and funding that directly support prevention and empowerment initiatives.

Consistent, high-quality posting has preventative impact. Educational content about red flags, online grooming, coercive control and intersectional vulnerabilities can help young people recognise harmful behaviour earlier. Parents, carers and teachers may identify warning signs sooner. Increased awareness can interrupt exploitation before it escalates.

Collaboration with the Communications Department ensures language is trauma-informed and safeguarding-aware. Sensitive issues are handled ethically, reducing the risk of re-traumatisation and creating a digital environment where survivors feel seen, respected and safe.

Cross-department collaboration ensures campaigns, policy work, education programmes and fundraising initiatives are amplified effectively. This leads to increased attendance at training, stronger campaign mobilisation, greater public engagement and enhanced funding — all of which contribute to tangible protection and support for vulnerable girls and young women.

By analysing performance data, the Social Media Lead helps Emerge Worldwide reach high-risk demographics more effectively. Data-informed decisions improve targeting, engagement and resource allocation, ensuring messaging reaches those most vulnerable.

In summary, the outcomes of this role contribute directly to early identification, public education, cultural awareness and increased access to prevention services.
