• supporting the team to maintain high standards of cat welfare
• transporting cats to vet appointments or to new homes
• entering records for cats and cat-related activity to track the impact of the team
• supporting with cat admissions and matching cats with prospective owners
• ordering, collecting and delivering cat-related supplies, for example, food, litter, medical supplies
• communicating with the public, offering support with cat ownership or lost and found cats
• supporting the volunteer neutering team

From elderly moggies to energic kittens, every day across the UK cats and kittens are in need of a temporary place to stay, and lots of love and TLC! We need more fosterers like you to provide a safe, temporary haven for cats and kittens and provide them with everything they need before they get their chance to land on their four paws and make a house a home.

Could you help shape the future of an established, values-led charity? We are recruiting for a Chair of Trustees (to replace our current Chair who is nearing end of term) and an additional trustee to support and strengthen the Board.

As we look to the next phase of our development, we are recruiting for two voluntary roles:

Chair of Trustees

An experienced leader to:

• Lead our Board and ensure strong governance
• Provide oversight, challenge and support to our CEO
• Help shape and steward our long-term strategy
• Act as an ambassador for FarmAbility and our mission

Time commitment: approx. 3–4 days per month

Trustee

Strategic, values-driven individual to:

• Contribute to strategy and oversight
• Ensure the charity remains financially sustainable and well governed
• Bring skills, insight and constructive challenge to Board discussions
• Take a lead oversight role in an agreed area (with support)

Time commitment: approx. 2 days per month

We would prefer someone with previous trustee experience, but direct experience of learning disabilities or autism is not essential. What matters most is strategic thinking, good judgement, ability to facilitate and take reasoned decisions and a genuine commitment to inclusion, dignity and opportunity.

Both roles are unpaid, with reasonable expenses reimbursed.

• Arranging to talk with potential beneficiaries (on the phone or face to face) at a mutually convenient time
• Understanding peoples’ support needs and gathering information to assess their circumstances
• Typing written case reports to apply for financial assistance
• Sign-posting to services providing specialist support, such as mental health or housing support
• Keeping beneficiaries and the SSAFA regional office up to date with progress

Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best, whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! Whatever your skill set, this could be the role for you!

Our treasurer volunteers maintain the finances of local groups and teams, ensuring they hold the funds needed to continue their vital work. Cats Protection relies solely on donations from generous members of the public, and our treasurer volunteers help make sure these funds are spent in the most effective way.

•  Preparing budgets
• Keeping accurate financial records
• Reporting financial records via ‘Cashlog’ (Cats Protection supplied software)
• Paying invoices and volunteer expenses
• Being part of a team which ensures there are sufficient funds to meet expenditure
• Updating and advising others on income received, expenditure and available funds
• Managing and monitoring donations made to the group
• Following financial procedures e.g. Gift Aid returns and VAT claims

At Cats Protection we help thousands of cats and kittens each year thanks to our dedicated and passionate volunteer groups. We have branches across the UK, all of which help our cats in different ways. Branches take in stray and abandoned cats and ensure they receive the veterinary care and attention they deserve; help raise funds, promote neutering and help spread cat welfare messages. Our branch team leader volunteers lead their local team by supporting and managing volunteers within their group, maintaining communications with both volunteers and employees, and helping promote a positive and professional image of Cats Protection.

You’ll be:

• Supporting your team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure volunteers are happy and confident
• Making sure the team observes charity best practice and compliance
• Collaborating with your Branch Development Manager (BDM) to plan volunteer activity
• Leading the team to follow Cats Protection policies, procedures and guidelines
• Monitoring expenditure and helping ensure long term financial stability of the volunteer group
• Organising and chairing team meetings
• Acting as an ambassador for Cats Protection

The Co-operative College is undertaking a radical change in approach, transitioning into a charity that will leave society a lasting learning legacy, run a grants programme to advance co-operative education and work closely with partners to deliver our vision for a more co-operative world. 

As we embark on this journey, we are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our Board and Committees to help shape our future.  

We are recruiting for two Trustees (one of whom we hope will serve as Vice Chair) and up to two independent members for our Audit and Risk Committee. 

While our standard Trustee Job Description applies to all roles, we are looking for specific expertise to strengthen our board in the following areas: 

1. Vice Chair (Trustee Role) x1 

We are looking for an individual with experience in chairing, facilitation, or strategic leadership. As Vice Chair, you will act as a deputy to the Chair, working with them closely to support board effectiveness. This is an ideal role for someone looking to step into a senior governance leadership position. 

2. Trustee x1 

In addition to the Vice Chair, we are seeking a Trustee who brings professional strength in at least one of the below: 

• Finance and accounting 

• Charity governance

3. Independent Audit and Risk Committee Members x2 

These are non-Trustee roles - we are looking specifically for independently minded finance professionals who will bring constructive challenge and fresh perspectives. We are looking for applicants with experience in at least one of the below: 

• Finance and accounting (qualified or part-qualified, highly desirable) 

• Grants management 

• Investment management

The Role

AMI is seeking a Lay Trustee to join its modern, forward-thinking Board.

The Board meets at least three times per year via Teams, with scheduling accommodating trustees globally. One annual face-to-face meeting is held in the UK.

Trustees play a vital role in guiding and strengthening AMI. They provide support and advice on the organisation’s purpose, vision, goals, and activities, while overseeing high-level strategies, policies, and financial plans. Trustees help identify and manage key risks, review financial statements, and support the Chief Executive in delivering AMI’s mission. They contribute their expertise and networks to promote AMI’s reputation, actively engage in committees or advisory groups, and champion membership growth. Acting independently, legally, and in good faith, Trustees prioritise AMI’s interests and stay informed about its operating environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Approving strategies, policies, budgets, and monitoring progress

• Ensuring effective risk management and financial oversight

• Supporting and challenging leadership while contributing expertise

• Promoting AMI’s aims, reputation, and membership growth

In addition, the Lay Trustee will:

• Advise on the development of a new commercial strategy aligned with AMI’s mission to drive revenue growth and diversify income streams

• Provide guidance on sales, market dynamics, customer segments, business development, product/service commercialisation, new product development, and commercial partnerships

• Serve on the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee (5 meetings per year, held remotely)

The Person

AMI is seeking individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset, fresh perspectives, and energy to contribute to a dynamic organisation with global reach. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping AMI’s future, including contributing to a major strategic review planned for 2026.

Candidates do not need to be UK-based but must share and actively support AMI’s values and be motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference through good governance and strategic leadership.

• Conduct exit interviews (virtually), document feedback, and share insights with the Talent Advisory team to identify trends and improve retention.
• Collaborate with Legal, IT, and managers to ensure the timely return of equipment and access revocation.

HR Records & Compliance

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records (digital and physical), including contracts, right-to-work documents, and visa expiry dates.
• Prepare audit-ready documentation for internal and external compliance reviews (e.g., GDPR, ISO standards).
• Track and renew right-to-work checks, visas, and other legal requirements, flagging expiries proactively.

Administrative Support

• Assist the Talent Advisory team with administrative tasks, including drafting ER case correspondence, updating HRIS data, and generating reports.
• Manage HR system updates (e.g., employee status changes, promotions) and ensure data integrity across platforms.
• Coordinate team calendars, meetings, and training sessions to optimise workflows in a remote setting.

Data Protection & Security

• Serve as the first point of contact for data protection queries, ensuring compliance with GDPR and company policies.
• Train employees and managers on the secure handling of sensitive HR information in a remote work environment.
• Monitor access permissions to HR systems and escalate potential breaches to the Manager: Talent Advisory.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1+ years in HR administration, data management, or a similar role. Exposure to remote work environments is a plus.
• Skills:
• Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in HRIS platforms (e.g., BambooHR, Workday), Google Products, and virtual collaboration tools.
• Strong written communication skills for drafting policies, reports, and employee correspondence.
