Are you ready to lead the UK’s pioneer in intergenerational arts into its most ambitious chapter yet?
"I will never look at a teenager the same again!" — Older participant
"I will see the older generation with a new perspective." — Student
At Magic Me, we bring generations together through extraordinary creative projects that dismantle ageism, build lasting community connections, and reduce loneliness across London. 92% of our participants report increased confidence to try new things, and 93% feel more connected to their community.
As we prepare to launch our bold 2027–2032 Strategy, we are looking for an inspiring, networked cultural leader to step into the role of Chair of the Board of Trustees (or join as part of a Co-Chair model) and help us tackle ageism and connect the generations.
Why this role stands out:
- You will take post in April 2027, right at the launch of our 2027–2032 strategy co-created with over 60 community stakeholders.
- You’ll help us create London’s first Intergenerational Borough in Tower Hamlets, forge exciting arts & cultural venue partnerships, and launch a 40th-anniversary physical and digital archive.
- You will lead a stable, healthy charity holding £150,000 in unrestricted reserves (50% above policy), anchored by Arts Council England NPO status and strong Trust & Foundation funding.
- You’ll act as a strategic sounding board and mentor to our dynamic Co-CEOs (Executive Director and Creative Director) who took the helm in late 2025.
- You'll steward our active, engaged board and be supported by four high functioning sub-committees (Creative Strategy, People, Fundraising & Marketing, Finance, Audit & Risk) so the Chair can stay focused on high-level strategy and advocacy.
Open to alternative leadership models!
Collaboration is at the heart of our values. We actively welcome applications for a Co-Chair structure or pairing with a Vice-Chair. Whether you are a senior arts leader seeking your first board leadership role or an experienced charity Chair looking to partner with a passionate creative practitioner, we’d love to explore how this could work for you.
Who we’re looking for:
- Arts & cultural leadership: Experience leading major programmes, projects, or organisations in the creative or cultural sector.
- Advocacy & door-opening: A natural networker who can connect Magic Me with high-profile cultural partners and funders.
- Passion for participatory arts: A genuine belief in the power of creative practice to change lives, challenge preconceptions, and strengthen communities.
- Inclusive & warm approach: Strategic clarity paired with empathy, excellent facilitation skills, and a strong commitment to EDI and anti-ageist principles.
We particularly encourage applications from candidates from racially minoritised backgrounds (including the Bangladeshi community in Tower Hamlets), LGBTQ+ individuals, and disabled candidates. Connections to Tower Hamlets are welcome, though not essential.

Seeking a Chair/Co-Chair and a Treasurer
Are you passionate about helping children develop a love of reading?
We are looking for a Chair/Co-Chair and a Treasurer with Board level experience to support our small but mighty charity to bring the joy of reading to primary school children across the country.
Location: Online Salary: Voluntary with reasonable expenses reimbursed
Deadline for applications: 30th September 2026
About Us:
The Children’s Bookshow is a national charity that inspires children with a love of books and reading through an annual programme of inspiring theatre and digital performances and engaging creative workshops. We showcase some of the best authors and illustrators of children’s books from around the world, and celebrate children’s literature in translation.
We are an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation that has been running successfully for 24 years. Each year, we deliver 15 events in venues ranging from iconic theatres such as The Old Vic in London to community spaces and smaller scale theatres such as the New Wolsey in Ipswich, plus a programme of 60 creative workshops in primary schools. We target areas of high socio-economic deprivation, support environmental sustainability, and partner with local authorities, libraries and education providers. Every child who attends our theatre performances receives a free copy of the author’s book to take home and keep. This is integral to our offer - putting excellent books directly into the hands of children.
“Having Frank Cottrell-Boyce in for a free workshop really did make such a difference to our school and to our children. Frank was able to inspire every single child to write, no matter their need or ability, and children who would normally be reluctant to share their ideas in front of the class were confident to do so. Every single one of them went home talking non-stop about the amazing author they had met - with many now inspired to become authors. I can't put into words how grateful we are or how much of an impact those couple of hours have had on both the children and staff.” Teacher,Winyates Primary, Peterborough
The opportunities:
If you have the expertise and passion to support our work and help us to deliver the impact and change experienced by Winyates Primary, then we would love to hear from you!
Thanks to successful fundraising, The Children’s Bookshow is financially stable for the next two years. Iterative growth and continued financial sustainability are crucial for us to fulfill our aspirations for the future:
-
Give more primary school children the invaluable experience of a live author event at a local theatre.
-
Enable children to work creatively with a world class artist in their own classroom.
-
Increase book ownership by putting a free book into the hands of every child who attends one of our performances.
We are recruiting a Chair/Co-Chair and a Treasurer to join our Board of highly-skilled, committed and friendly Trustees to guide and support us in achieving these aims.
Chair/Co-Chair:

-
Lead Board meetings and maintain focus on our core mission.
-
Support and guide our CEO and Senior Leadership Team.

-
A supportive, engaged and positive approach helping to move our charity forward to achieve our shared aims.

We are seeking a new Treasurer to ensure high standards of financial governance and decision-making, and to act as a key sounding board for the Co-Directors in the financial planning, management and reporting of our charity. This will include overseeing our annual budget and cashflow and quarterly management accounts, and advising on how best to invest our reserve fund.
We are looking for: a skilled and experienced finance professional, ideally with accountancy qualifications, with Board level experience with a UK charity and an interest in our work.
Time commitment: around 5-7 days per year.
Meetings:
There are typically four Board meetings a year lasting around an hour. We're recruiting on behalf of our partners at MINDSET.
VOLUNTEER GRAPHIC DESIGNER (MINDSET Charity) - REMOTE
Help Us Launch a Movement This November
MINDSET is a bold new preventative mental fitness charity for teenage boys and men in London — and we’re launching this November. We’re building a modern, high‑energy, stigma‑free space where men learn the habits, systems, and psychological tools to stay strong long before crisis hits.
To bring this mission to life, we need a creative powerhouse — a Graphic Designer who can help us shape the visual identity of a charity built to feel more like a fitness brand than a traditional organisation.
If you want your work to matter, to inspire, and to change lives, this is your moment.
THE ROLE: GRAPHIC DESIGNER (Volunteer)
We’re looking for a designer who can help us create a suite of high‑impact visuals that will define our launch. You’ll be part of a small, passionate team building something genuinely needed in London.
You’ll help us design:
-
Roller Banners for school programmes and community events.
-
Merchandise (t‑shirts, hoodies, wristbands, stickers).
-
Launch Graphics for November 2026.
-
Social Media Assets that feel modern, bold, and motivational.
-
Printed Materials (flyers, posters, guides and booklets).
-
Digital Templates for our 12‑week mental fitness programme.
-
Brand Elements that strengthen our identity and message.
Your work will be seen by schools, partners, funders, teenage boys, and men across London — and will directly support our mission to prevent silent suffering and build stronger futures.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You don’t need decades of experience. You don’t need agency credentials. You just need skill, passion, and a desire to build something meaningful.
We’re looking for someone who:
-
Loves creating clean, modern, bold designs.
-
Can work with brand guidelines (or help us refine them).
-
Enjoys fast‑paced, start‑up style collaboration.
-
Wants their work to have real social impact.
-
Can commit a few hours a week between now and November.
-
Is excited by the idea of shaping a charity’s visual identity from day one.
If you’re the kind of designer who gets fired up by purpose‑driven projects, you’ll fit right in.
WHY JOIN MINDSET?
1. Because your designs will change lives.
Every banner, every graphic, every piece of merchandise helps us reach boys and men who desperately need preventative support.
2. Because we operate like a modern brand.
Think Gymshark, Huel, or MyProtein — clean lines, bold messaging, high energy. Not clinical. Not corporate. Not outdated.
3. Because you’ll be part of a founding team.
Your creativity will help define how MINDSET looks, feels, and communicates for years to come.
4. Because this is meaningful work.
We’re building a movement that exists to stop preventable tragedies. Your designs will help us reach the men who need us most.
WHAT YOU’LL GET
-
A chance to build a full brand suite for a new charity.
-
Portfolio‑ready work with real‑world impact.
-
A supportive, energetic team who value creativity.
-
Flexible volunteering you can fit around your life.
-
The satisfaction of knowing your work is helping save lives.

BUILD SOMETHING THAT CHANGES MEN’S LIVES IN LONDON
MINDSET Charity
Trustee Recruitment (Volunteer Roles)
Chair • Treasurer • Fundraising Trustee • Safeguarding Lead • Strategy & Development Trustees
WE’RE NOT LOOKING FOR TRADITIONAL TRUSTEES. WE’RE LOOKING FOR BUILDERS.
MINDSET is a bold, preventative mental fitness charity for teenage boys and men in London. We don’t do clinical therapy. We don’t sit on couches. We build systems, habits, and psychological tools that help men stay strong long before crisis hits.
We exist because too many good men have been breaking in silence. Our founder lived that reality — losing his father and close friends to battles they were never given the tools to fight. Their stories became our mission: no more preventable exits. No more silent suffering. No more men fighting alone.
Now we’re building a movement. A training ground. A new standard for male mental fitness.
And to launch this charity with strength, focus, and integrity, we need a small, high‑energy, high‑impact Trustee Board who can help us build MINDSET from the ground up.
THE ROLES WE’RE RECRUITING
1. Chair of Trustees
A steady, strategic leader who can guide our early direction, keep us aligned with our mission, and help us build a strong, safe, compliant organisation. You’ll be the anchor of our governance and the champion of our preventative mental fitness vision.
2. Treasurer
A numbers‑driven, detail‑focused trustee with UK accounting experience who can help us build lean, efficient financial systems. You’ll ensure our budgets, reporting, and financial planning are rock‑solid as we grow.
3. Fundraising & Grants Trustee
A proactive connector who can open doors, build partnerships, and secure funding. You’ll lead our grants strategy, donor relationships, and fundraising campaigns to fuel our 12‑week programmes. You'll also lead our board in fundraising areas and matters.
4. Safeguarding Lead Trustee
A calm, experienced safeguarding professional who ensures our boys and men are protected at every step. You’ll help us build safe systems, strong policies, and a culture of responsibility. You'll also lead our board in safeguarding areas and matters.
Additional Trustees (Various Specialisms)
We’re also seeking trustees with experience in:
-
Strategy & organisational development
-
Mental health, wellbeing, coaching or personal development
-
Monitoring, evaluation & impact measurement
-
Youth work or education
-
Digital operations & community building
-
Start‑up charities or early‑stage organisations
If you bring clarity, energy, and a passion for helping men and boys build stronger futures, we want you on our team.
WHY JOIN MINDSET?
1. Because this isn’t a passive board role — it’s a founding mission.
You’ll help shape the charity’s identity, culture, and long‑term direction.
2. Because our model is modern, lean, and high‑impact.
We operate like a fitness brand, not a slow-moving charity. Fast execution. Clean systems. High energy.
3. Because every decision you make will change real lives.
Every metric we track represents a boy, a father, a mate — staying in the game.
4. Because we’re building something West London genuinely needs.
A stigma‑free, practical, preventative space where men and boys learn to build habits, not hide feelings.

Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is organised, reliable and proactive, with strong communication skills and good attention to detail.

You do not need extensive professional experience. This role would suit a student, recent graduate or someone looking to build practical experience in programme management, charities, education or community work.
Experience working with young people, schools, charities or community organisations would be helpful but is not essential.
What You'll Gain
You'll gain practical experience supporting real programmes, working with schools and community partners, coordinating volunteers and understanding how a charity operates day to day.
You'll receive support from the Genesis Impact team, opportunities to take ownership of projects as you develop, and a reference following successful completion of the internship.
Please note: As some of our programmes involve working with children and young people, relevant safeguarding requirements and an Enhanced DBS check will apply.

About Genesis Impact
Genesis Impact is a UK charity working with young people, schools and communities to create opportunities, raise aspirations and support young people to reach their potential.
Our programmes include mentoring, school-based initiatives and community projects. As our work continues to grow, we want to make sure we are doing a better job of sharing the stories, people and impact behind it.
About the Role
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Communications & Social Media Volunteer to help us strengthen Genesis Impact's online presence.
Working closely with our team, you will help us tell the story of our programmes across Instagram and LinkedIn, turning the work happening across our schools and communities into engaging and professional content.
This is a great opportunity for a student, recent graduate or someone looking to build experience in communications, marketing, social media or the charity sector.
What You'll Be Doing
- Creating engaging content for Instagram and LinkedIn
- Designing simple graphics and social posts using Canva
- Helping create and edit short-form video content and Reels
- Writing captions and short programme updates
- Turning photos, testimonials and programme outcomes into engaging stories
- Supporting communications around events, campaigns and programme launches
- Helping maintain a simple content calendar
- Identifying opportunities to increase Genesis Impact's visibility and engagement
- Supporting occasional newsletters and other communications

- Has some experience with Canva; CapCut or other video-editing tools would be a bonus
- Is organised and able to work independently
- Is reliable and able to commit a few hours each week
- Has an interest in young people, education, communities or the charity sector
Experience could come from university, a society, your own social media, volunteering, freelance projects or previous employment. A professional communications background is not required.
What You'll Gain
This won't be a role where you're simply observing. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of real communications work and build a portfolio of content.
You'll gain:
- Hands-on experience creating communications for a growing UK charity
- Experience managing content across Instagram and LinkedIn
- Opportunities to create graphics, videos, campaigns and written content
- Exposure to charity programmes, events and corporate partnerships
- Regular support and feedback from the Genesis Impact team
- Content you can add to your professional portfolio
- A reference following successful completion of the role
Commitment
We anticipate approximately 4–6 hours per week, with flexibility around studies, work and other commitments.
Most activity can be completed remotely, although there may be opportunities to attend Genesis Impact events and programme sessions in London to capture content.
How to Apply
Please send us a short application explaining why you're interested in the role and any relevant experience you have.
If you have examples of social media posts, Canva designs, videos, writing, university projects or other creative work, we'd love to see them, but this is not essential.
We particularly welcome applications from students, recent graduates and those looking to build practical communications experience.
