Volunteer Drivers: 

We are looking for regular and occasional volunteer drivers to provide safe and friendly transportation for our older members to and from our centre. A D1 License would be required for the role. We can provide additional free training through MiDAS. Each driver is accompanied with a Passenger Assistant to assist with navigation, phone calls, and assisting members.

We have two wheelchair-accessible shuttle buses which are stored on our premises. Each bus is wheelchair accessible and accommodates 8 service users, 1 passenger assistant, and 1 driver. Our service users are primarily located in Deptford, Lewisham, and Greenwich.

About Deptford Mission 

Our charity is called Deptford Mission, located on 1 Creek Road, London. Our organisation operates a day centre three days a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) that provides social activities and community support for older persons in the community. We run a shuttle bus service that transports older persons to our centre, where they can enjoy a three-course lunch, coffee and tea service, and activities such as bingo, musical classes, chair yoga, and occasional local outings. Our day centre is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am to 3:00pm. 

We work with volunteers from diverse backgrounds and walks of life and can accommodate individuals with learning differences, complex histories, and support needs. We also provide lunch to our volunteers during their shifts, and we are happy to help support specific skills that they may wish to develop. Many of our volunteers have obtained experience and confidence to pursue employment in social care, health care, and higher education.

Do you enjoy organising, sorting, and bringing order to busy spaces? Our Goods Sorting Volunteer role is a vital way to make a real difference behind the scenes and to the people we serve. 

At Wycombe Homeless Connection, we are fortunate to receive generous donations of food, clothing, and essential items from individuals and groups in our community. These items are part of our emergency response for people experiencing a housing crisis, including those who are homeless. They are given out to help people get through immediate, difficult situations and meet basic needs with dignity.

Keeping everything sorted, stocked, and easy to access means we can respond quickly when someone needs urgent support and that’s where you come in.

Our goods sorting team meets regularly to process donations, organise storage areas, and make sure our emergency supplies are ready to go when they are needed most.

What you’ll be doing

• Sorting donations by type, size, and best-before dates. 
• Emptying, labelling, and refilling storage boxes. 
• Organising cupboards and storage areas so emergency items are easy to find. 
• Helping keep spaces tidy, clear, and well organised. 
• Occasionally transporting surplus items to charity shops or other locations.

This is a practical, hands-on role where small tasks make a real difference to people in urgent need. A well-organised shelf or clearly labelled box can mean someone in a housing crisis gets essential support quickly.

You’ll be working alongside a friendly team of volunteers, sharing tasks, chatting as you go, and helping keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Aim of this role
Assessor volunteers support the drop-in sessions in our offices and outreach. They discuss with clients the issues they have come to us for help with. After this (and with full support from the supervisor), assessors discuss next steps and actions with the client to help resolve their issues.

As an Assessor, you will be a part of the service delivery. You will:

• complete an induction to Citizens Advice and training for your role

• help with the drop-in sessions

• complete full assessments with our clients, following CAML processes and procedures

• record a summary of your interactions with clients in our Case Management System and consult with the Supervisor on the day regarding the relevant next steps

• ensure that equality, diversity and inclusion are promoted in our work

• adhere to Citizens Advice Merton and Lambeth’s aims and principles

• maintain all relevant GDPR rules and regulations

Our main offices in Kennington, Morden and Mitcham and different outreach locations in Merton and Lambeth. All three offices are well-connected to public transport, and the office in Mitcham has a car park.

Commitment
This role requires you attend our offices or outreach locations in person.

Our offices are open to the public from 9.30am to 3pm, five days a week. During your training, you are required to contribute at least one day in one of our offices and Wednesdays each week for online training. After your training is completed, you required to attend one of our offices at least one full day per week in office. Ideally we ask for a commitment to volunteer with CAML for at least 12 months.

Friends of Refugees London offers befriending and advocacy services to refugees and migrants - we are looking for an organised, friendly Volunteer Coordinator to help manage our volunteer programme, ensuring volunteers and clients have a positive experience from their first enquiry through to being matched and beyond. 

About the role 

This is a varied and rewarding coordination role that is pivotal to the charity’s work. You'll help guide volunteers through every stage of their journey with us, from initial enquiry through to them being matched with a client and throughout the befriending relationship. 

Working closely with our small, friendly group of trustees, you will be the main point of contact to keep our volunteer programme running smoothly through a mixture of administration, communication, and coordination. Tech Buddies is a project with a huge positive impact on social connectedness and mental health among our older neighbours. The aim of Tech Buddies is to inspire and then support older people to get digitally connected and confident, to stay safe online and to use the internet regularly until they are happy to do so on their own. Together, the Tech Buddy volunteer and learner explore what technology can offer.

Wednesdays and/or Saturdays you’ll be helping members aged 60+ get savvy using their smart phones, tablets, and laptops. You could be helping with anything from sending emails to installing apps.

You’ll help our tutor support a group of adults with learning disabilities to explore a range of artistic practices from painting to clay making. You will play an important part in fostering a creative and relaxed environment so our learners can express themselves and discover new art techniques

Dance Fit is a fun way to stay active through music and movement. Sessions are designed to improve fitness, flexibility and confidence in a supportive and enjoyable environment. Routines and exercises can be performed standing or seated, making the sessions accessible for everyone. The group learns simple routines that can also be practised at home, and each July learners have the opportunity to perform to friends and family at our Summer Show!

About The Role 

This role is ideal for someone who loves to move. You’ll support our tutor in delivering inclusive and fun classes for a small group of adults with learning disabilities. Every class is an opportunity for the learners to express themselves freely, socialise with others and feel the benefits of physical activity on their wellbeing.

As a Dance Fit Class Volunteer at Stepping Stones, you will: 

• Assist the tutor in setting up and closing down the studio space
• Encourage and support learners 
• Demonstrate movements
• Offer 1:1 or group support where needed to help participants engage 
• Help build a warm, inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels safe to express themselves

Prior to volunteering, we ask all volunteers to: 

• Attend an in-person session with the Stepping Stones team and learners 
• Provide two references 
• Complete a DBS check (we will arrange this) 
• Commit to volunteering one session per week for 3 x 10 week terms throughout the year. For continuity for our service users, we ask that you commit to volunteering with us for one year

Within CPSL Mind's serives, our trainined Peer Mentor "walk alongside" individuals on thier recovery journey as they work towards specific personal goals through 1:1 work or group support. This service is offered Monday to Friday between office hours. 

Aims of the service is to:

• Reduce loneliness and social isolation among adults
• Improve mental wellbeing and confidence through regualar social contact
• Encourage informal physical activity, including walking, gentle exercise and community particiaption 
• Strengthen resilience by supporting individuals to access public services, groups and wider community provision
• Reduce reliance on statutory support
