Join your local St John Network to learn First Aid skills, to attend events as medical cover, and to pass on your skills and knowledge to local community groups.You will be expected to attend training meetings, and to go out and give talks and First Aid awareness sessions to the local community.

A Welcome Event (Induction) will take place at the Devizes and Central Wiltshire Network after all screening and checks have been completed.
Training for role will take place 13th/14th September 2025.

New volunteers must be able to commit to 2 days of initial training this is usually over a weekend. New volunteers are expected to be available once a month to attend the network training which can take place in Bolton, Wigan and Radcliffe. Our events are at stadiums, Concerts and within the community so we ask that you are able to commute within our network of Bolton, Wigan and Radcliffe.

If you are successful you will need to undertake induction & training for role at these dates:
Welcome Event (Induction) - Induction event is currently planned possible dates 24th July evening, 2nd August Daytime and 6th July August, however once successful candidates have been approached these will be surveyed for availability with an aim of reducing the number of induction events (ideally to 1 if possible) and preferred location (Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth or online)Enrollment and Interview event on Saturday 31st May.

The role requires the candidate to commit to regularly attending network meeting nights once a week and carrying out 80 hours of event cover per year, providing first aid, community education and assisting in fundraising. Ideally we would like to recruit people local to Dacorum.

We run volunteering sessions once per month sometime twice if required.
If you are successful you will need to undertake induction & training for role at these dates:
Welcome event shall be held in person to say hello to the members while SJA is explained to them. Once this has been done and an Interview has taken Place the training will be provided by the Network
Online learning and CFA course which shall be held in the Network as we have approximately 4 demonstrators and a trainers

Interview day will be Saturday 5th July 2025 between 9am -13:00. This will be held at the Sidcup HQ in person with the management team of the network along with a few other interviews and some cadets to help assist with the day. All candidates must be available to attend

The Course will run for the CFA qualification on Sunday 7th September and Sunday 21st September and you have to be around for both dates as its a 2 day course with E-learning to be completed before.

Every member who joins will be agreeing to attend 2 meeting nights that are held at Erith Vets club every Monday evening between 20:00-21:30 apart from summer holidays and bank holidays. Every member is also agreeing to complete the minimum of 80 event hours per year to add to their years of service and serve the local community.

First Monday evening will be on Monday 7th July which will be a scenario night followed by a social night on the 14th July which will allow team building exercises. Each new member will be allocated a buddy who is the same skill level or above so they can guide them through the recruitment process around the systems we use.

MHFA England are seeking a Non-Executive Director with expertise in workplace mental health and wellbeing to assist in agreeing and supporting MHFA England’s strategy, ensuring the delivery of MHFA’s overall purpose and mission as a social enterprise.

The Non-Executive Director will ensure the human and financial resources are available to achieve MHFA England’s objectives by providing expertise and guidance.

There may also be an opportunity for the postholder to sit as part of one of our other governance committees.

Principle duties

1. Promoting the highest standards of corporate governance in compliance with regulatory, constitutional, legal, financial, and other obligations
2. Overseeing the delivery of MHFA England’s strategy and performance
3. Protecting the long-term sustainability of MHFA England
4. Safeguarding the reputation of MHFA England
5. Providing expert insight, understanding, and experience relating to workplace mental health and wellbeing 
6. Leading a Board sub-committee, where required
7. Representing MHFA England at collaboration and network events, and contributing to the development of organisational relationships

Person specification

• Experience and knowledge of implementing mental health and wellbeing strategies, policies, training, and support in medium to large organisations, and measuring their impact
• An awareness of economic and political changes that may impact MHFA England
• Sound judgement around corporate governance, financial strategy risk and opportunity
• A commitment to social enterprise and MHFA England’s values and culture
• Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and teamworking skills
