We are looking for a Chair to steer our Board of Trustees, providing strategic oversight and governance. The Chair will be actively leading on shaping the future of our Hall, developing the business and setting its strategic direction to ensure financial viability for the future.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a wide variety of skills who can be an enabler to grow the business and build on the progress we have made to date. Ideally you will have experience in leadership, management and organisational development. Experience in the voluntary sector, community facilities or running community projects would be helpful.
As a ‘hands-on’ Chair, you will bring your experience and skills to the role and will be supported by the Trustee Board, plus an established staff team including the Hall Manager, plus the Treasurer and Company Secretary.
We are a village hall in heart of the Emersons Green community, offering rooms for hire to local businesses, charities, voluntary groups and individuals for recreation or business use. We also organise and run events for the local community such as seasonal fairs, family entertainment events, seniors' activities, childrens' craft and activity sessions and discos. Our village hall is at the centre of the Emersons Green community. As a large village hall, we are looking to the future to ensure that we can be financially viable in these challenging times.
The Board of Trustees is the governing body of our charity. It is where final decisions are made. The Board’s key role is to make sure that the charity is successful in working towards its aims and objectives. The Board oversees the management of the hall and its staff and is responsible for the larger decisions, keeping an eye on the budgets and generally helping to ensure the halls continued success. This may include approving improvements to the hall, enacting policies, supporting the Hall Manager and the staff in dealing with hirers and staging community events and activities, and planning and monitoring progress.
The day to day running of the hall is dealt with by the Hall Manager, with the support of staff, the Treasurer and Company Secretary.
We have 6 scheduled meetings a year and then usually a few ad hoc ones to look at budgets and staff meetings. These are usually in the evenings. The regular meetings tend to last about 2.5 hours.

QMC Capoeira is a martial arts school based in London that has been running since 2007 and is the most awarded Capoeira School in the UK.

Roles and Responsibilities
The role is responsible for planning/implementing content marketing strategies which increase brand awareness with our core target markets through the effective use of social media channels. This will include developing and implementing content marketing campaigns appropriate to the channel being used, monitoring social media channels to respond appropriately to posts/comments, and identifying issues that require escalation.
Digital and Social Media Assistant Job Duties:
- Research and create marketing and social media campaigns and strategies, including content ideation, and implementation schedules in order to raise brand awareness, secure media coverage, and increase visitor numbers.
- Manage and oversee social media content.
- Ensures brand consistency in marketing and social media messages by working with various company department members, including advertising, PR and brand management.

The volunteering program with QMC requires a minimum of 21 weeks of commitment. We are looking for someone who can offer 12 hours a week, Monday - Friday.

Job Responsibilities
This is a voluntary position. The time commitment will include preparing for and running 5 trustee meetings per year and attendance at other relevant meetings and exhibitions. There will also be some work between meetings to keep up with developments.

New Theatre Royal Portsmouth (NTR) is a beautiful 640-seater Grade II* listed theatre in the heart of Portsmouth. It is situated in one of the most deprived wards in England. The building is owned by Portsmouth City Council and the theatre is run by a registered charity which programmes a vibrant mix of drama, comedy, music, dance and pantomime. The charity undertook a strategic review in 2023 that recognised the need to build stronger links with the community and provide cultural opportunities and services beyond the programming.
NTR has recently appointed a new board and a new Chief Executive at the start of an exciting chapter in the life of the Theatre. We are looking to supplement the board three new trustees.
We are looking for:
- An experienced trustee with a background in education. You may have experience of serving on other boards or reporting directly to them, either way you’ll understand the role of governance and trustees. You will have recent experience of working in a school or college at a senior level (or similar type of role) and understand how the arts can support the national curriculum and offer opportunities to pupils.
- An experienced trustee with a background in business and/or entrepreneurship. You may have experience of serving on other boards or reporting directly to them, either way you’ll understand the role of governance and trustees. You can have worked in any industry and can see opportunities for a business to increase turnover or reduce costs.
- A trustee with experience of conservation of a listed building and property maintenance/management. You don’t need to have experience of working with boards. You’ll bring an understanding of the challenges of managing a Grade II* listed building that is busy with shows and audiences.
As a Trustee, you will ensure good governance and best practice, supporting the organisation in complying with legislative and regulatory requirements; you will support the Chair in setting the overall direction and development of the charity through clear strategic planning; you will act in the best interest of the organisation, its beneficiaries, and future beneficiaries; you will support the promotion of the organisation; and you will ensure sound financial management and that resources are spent in line with the organisation’s strategy.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Kempton Great Engines Trust as we embark on an ambitious programme to showcase Kempton’s vital role in supplying much of London’s water.
Kempton Great Engines Trust is the governing body for Kempton Steam Museum, the home of the world’s largest working triple-expansion steam engine. The Trust supports day-to-day operations and drives the ongoing development of the museum as a successful and sustainable visitor attraction.
We have plans to expand the museum’s activities with new facilities for visitors and volunteers and the new Treasurer will play a vital role in shaping the approach to financial management in support of these new developments. You will chair the Finance Committee and attend Trustee Meetings, which are normally held every other month on a Tuesday evening at the museum in South West London.
The Treasurer oversees the financial operations of the organisation, working closely with the Bookkeeper. You will also ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are met in conjunction with the Company Secretary and Chair.
We are looking for someone who has the experience to advise the other trustees on financial matters, take a strategic approach to financial forward planning, produce an annual budget and management accounts and play an active part in the decision making of the board of trustees. A qualification in accountancy or equivalent senior level experience in financial management is required and experience of charities and governance would be advantageous.

Taking part in extra cirricular activities is so important for children and young people. Access to skateboarding, dance, music, art and other performing arts leads to benefits such as:

Sadly, funding for the youth activity is decreasing year on year. And grassroots music venues are closing at a rate of 2 per week. This affects all young people, but especially those from the least advantaged communities who, as a result, may never pick up a musical instrument or have access to art and culture.
As a charity, we couldn’t exist without the support of our volunteers. As part of the team, you will be helping us to market our events and activities and to develop and support our website, which helps us to raise the funds to keep going, and ensure that every young person has access to the arts, no mater their circumstance.

The Photographic Collections Network (PCN) is seeking an interim Treasurer with expertise in accountancy and/or charity finance and reporting to join our board of Trustees.
We are on the journey to becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), and this will bring great opportunities for us to expand our reach and provide support for the UKs photographic collections and heritage. QMC Capoeira School is looking for a Volunteer Sound Engineer who would love to support a community organisation undertake an international martial arts tournament and Brazilian Cultural Festival Project related work to start ASAP and finish mid – late November.
QMC Capoeira is a martial arts school based in London that has been running since 2006, has academy in Canada and the Dominican Republic and is the most awarded Capoeira School in the UK.
The objective of the role is to:
· Assist with audio set-up for commentary station
· Mix levels both on the audio mixer and ATEM Mini so as to get the best broadcast sound possible both from commentary microphones and venue mics
· Advise on best practices to get the best possible audio for the broadcast
The ideal candidate will work in our Kingston office setting up microphones, doing sound checks and audio mixing before livestreams and monitoring and adjusting audio during livestreams.
Essential Skills and Experience:
· Experience with USB microphones
· Experience with multimic setup
· Experience with audio mixing and audio mixing software
Preferred Skills and Experience:
· Previous broadcast, live streaming, or podcast recording experience
· Knowledge and experience of OBS and use of ATEM Mini.
· Show professionalism at all levels and in all environments
· Be a strong team player
· Well organized, pro-active, self-starter and able to deliver tasks efficiently.
· Good time-management skills

- Manage social media content for QMC

· Ability to commit to volunteering 12 hours a week for 16 weeks (covering from pre-event to post-event period)
