Project Safe Refuge (PSR)

PSR uses a participatory approach to create thoughtful, functional spaces that offer safety, dignity, and a sense of belonging to displaced communities.

As of 2024, over 122.6 million people worldwide have been forcibly displaced due to conflict, persecution, and natural disasters. While early warning systems, emergency preparedness, and climate adaptation efforts have reduced loss of life, the reality remains stark: millions—especially those in vulnerable, low-income communities—continue to lose their homes and livelihoods. Climate change is intensifying these crises, and the number of displaced people is expected to grow significantly in the years ahead. If displaced communities are fortunate enough to get a shelter they could also face further issues with shelters not being climate or culture appropriate, which can further worsen their mental and physical health.

At PSR, we work closely with displaced communities to understand their needs firsthand. Using our experience in architecture, design, and construction, we create thoughtful, functional spaces that offer safety, dignity, and a sense of belonging. Our work is rooted in collaboration, resilience, and the belief that everyone deserves a place to call home—even in the most challenging circumstances.

We design with the people, for the people, using a participatory approach. Through workshops, surveys and more we involve the communities in the creation of their spaces. We aim for our projects to be sustainable, circular and affordable.

Graphic Designer / Social Media Strategist

Create a strategy for our Social Media posts. Define a cohesive design / post style that would be engaging and drive attention to our mission. Make a strategy for long-term posts and planning on how to automate them or make the process easier. You will work together with some of our members currently working on social media and design.

The Family Mentor Project supports parents and carers in Southend‑on‑Sea, helping them to access the tools, confidence and support they need to create safe, stable, positive home environments for their children.

What Does a Family Mentor Do?

As a Family Mentor Volunteer, you will:

• Build a trusting, supportive relationship with a family or caregiver.
• Help them identify goals for their family life (e.g. routines, communication, managing behaviour, accessing local services).
• Offer practical support—signposting, encouragement, sometimes assisting with navigating social or health systems.
• Be a consistent presence: offering emotional support, listening, celebrating successes and helping find solutions when things are hard.
• Keep records (confidentially), attend supervision and ongoing training.

Who We’re Looking For

Someone who:

• Is patient, reliable, non‑judgemental, and can commit to being there over time.
• Has good listening and communication skills.
• Is organised enough to help plan sessions, set realistic goals, follow through.
• Is able to maintain confidentiality and boundaries.
• Preferably has some experience (professional, volunteering or lived) with families, children or community work—but not essential.
• Can attend occasional training and supervision.

REMIX

We are currently recruiting for new Trustees to join Stepping Stones, a fantastic member led organisation who provide a range of mental health support services to people in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland, who have mild to moderate mental health conditions.  The role of a Trustee is one where the Board have responsibility and overall governance of the organisation. Being a Trustee requires commitment and engagement. It is a wonderful opportunity to use your skills and experience to help shape the organisation, support people, and contribute to our strategies.

We are particularly interested in welcoming Stepping Stones service members, or those from a relevant charity or mental health background, and young people, onto our Board to help us with fresh perspectives and energy into our planning. If you have no previous Board experience, that's okay as training is provided, we have a mix of skills, experiences and perspectives. Becoming a Trustee can offer a rewarding personal and professional development experience.

Trustees meet every 6 weeks for Board meetings, they also attend the AGM and charity events and training. Whilst the preference of the Board is to meet in person, there is flexibility to attend virtual meetings when required.

REMIX

Help shape the future of mental health support in Devon

Step One is a long-established and ambitious charity, with over 85 years’ experience supporting people across Devon with mental health challenges, learning disabilities, and neurodiversity. Each year, we work with up to 800 individuals, helping them to live more independently and thrive in their communities.

We are seeking to further strengthen our Board of Trustees as we continue to grow and deliver our 5-year strategy. To complement our current strengths, we are looking for someone with a clinical background, with an emphasis on mental health, which could include experience as a clinical psychologist, GP, mental health nurse, or OT, amongst others.

As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in providing strategic oversight and governance, ensuring that Step One remains resilient, innovative, and impactful in a challenging but exciting environment. You will join a committed and diverse Board and have the opportunity to contribute your expertise to support our Chief Executive, senior leadership team, and staff.

Trans Celebration is a trans-led, grassroots human rights and community organisation dedicated to highlighting issues affecting trans and gender-diverse people in the UK and improving the quality of their lives. We work tirelessly to promote inclusivity, celebrate trans joy, and advocate for access to vital services through campaigns across fashion, arts, beauty, and beyond.

We are seeking a motivated Partnerships & Outreach Volunteer to help us build strong, meaningful relationships with other charities, nonprofits, and community groups. This role will support collaborative projects and campaigns, strengthening our impact and extending our reach.

Job Summary

The Partnerships & Outreach Volunteer will focus on identifying, developing, and maintaining collaborative relationships with external organisations. This role will help Trans Celebration create opportunities for joint initiatives, shared campaigns, and resource exchange, ensuring we are working collectively to achieve greater impact for the trans community.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify potential partner charities, nonprofits, and community organisations.

• Reach out to potential partners to explore opportunities for collaboration.

• Support the planning and coordination of joint campaigns, events, or projects.

• Maintain a database of partner contacts and track ongoing collaborations.

• Act as a liaison between Trans Celebration and partner organisations.

• Assist in preparing partnership proposals, presentations, or reports.
