Join our warehouse teams in the vital role of Volunteer Warehouse Assistant, to help handle food deliveries and prepare orders for charities and community groups.

Duties may include

• Picking & packing food items ready for despatch or collection.
• Performing physical tasks including lifting, loading, moving and storing goods.
• Recording quantities and types of food.
• Checking labels and dates on food.
• Following instructions - adhering to Health & Safety and Food Safety procedures.
• Keeping work areas clean & tidy.

You will need to be

• Adaptable - managing surplus food can be unpredictable.
• Positive, friendly and enthusiastic about tackling food waste and food poverty.
• Numerate and literate.

Help ensure food is successfully collected from our suppliers and delivered safely to charities and community groups.

Duties may include

• Safely driving our vans to deliver food to charities and community groups.
• Loading and unloading food.
• Completing paperwork.
• Assisting with routine van checks & vehicle maintenance.
• Reporting any accidents or damage.
• Representing the Company in a courteous and professional manner.

You will need to be

• You must be confident driving and handling vans (Sprinter & Ford Transits) and feel comfortable driving them, we’d love to hear from you.
• You must be over 18, have a full licence and be confident driving a van.
• Able to read maps/ use Sat Nav.
• Able to commit to a shift pattern.
• Numerate and literate.

Activities and Events Volunteer

About The Role

As an Activities and Events volunteer, you will play a vital role in assisting staff leading a variety of fun, interactive and nature-based activities aimed at family groups, especially children, and also helping with aspects of our adult-friendly walks and talk programme that runs throughout the year. 

Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team. You’ll get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and anything else you need.

At FareShare, we stop good food from going to waste and give it to people who need it in our local community. Our Volunteer Drivers deliver food to our Community Food Members which is vital to ensuring the donated food we receive gets to the right people, instead of going to landfill. 

What will I be doing? 

• Safely driving vans to deliver and collect food 

• Loading and unloading food orders, planning routes and completing paperwork 

• Responsibly driving the van, cleaning the van, reporting any issues or accidents 

• Representing FareShare in a courteous and professional manner and, where necessary, you will be accompanied by a Volunteer Driver’s Assistant.

• Have the ability to complete paperwork and follow directions via Sat Nav system/map 

• Be adaptable and flexible. Managing surplus food is unpredictable and tasks can vary

We are looking for people interested in environmental and sustainability issues and environmental justice in the Camden community who enjoy assisting in the organisation of events.

Duties:

The events assistants will provide support in our events as part of a team, including tasks like:

• Assisting with the execution of various charity events and campaigns

• Helping with the preparation of events and campaigns

• Attending meetings with the group and events such as FoE marches 

• Setting up event spaces, including decorations and signage

• Addressing any issues that arise during the event and providing immediate solutions

• Collecting event data and feedback from attendees

• Assisting with post-event reporting

Role Overview.

As our Director of Content, you will play a vital leadership role in shaping and overseeing our content strategy, ensuring that Bank.Green's messaging is impactful, cohesive, and aligned with our mission. Success in this role means managing a team of social media contributors, ensuring content quotas are met, and maintaining the quality and consistency of our published materials. You’ll oversee various content initiatives, from social media to newsletters and blogs, and provide guidance on ad hoc website content updates. Your work will help amplify our impact, inspire meaningful action from our community, and drive the movement for sustainable banking.

Commitment

This role is currently volunteer-based, and we are seeking a commitment of 5-10 hours per week. We are looking for somebody to join us long-term but are open to shorter-term applicants

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the social media team, ensuring monthly posting quotas are met and content aligns with our overarching strategy.
• Generate and refine content ideas in collaboration with the team to maintain engaging, impactful, and relevant messaging across platforms.
• Copyedit and approve the short monthly newsletter and occasional blog posts produced by the research team.

We’re seeking a UK‑based volunteer with at least three years’ administrative experience, including confident use of Microsoft tools. 

You’ll be organised, detail‑focused and able to manage your own workload. 

You’ll support meetings, maintain online files, update documents, manage data and contact lists, and provide general admin support to the Board, Operations Director and volunteer HR team as needed.

We’re looking for UK‑based volunteers with expertise in assessing and verifying quantified environmental impacts. You’ll work with a small remote team to audit and verify carbon, waste or water savings linked to lifestyle choices, using open‑source data. 

Your research will help develop robust models and frameworks, ensuring the E‑Save app provides accurate, trusted impact data for users.

What are we looking for?

We’re seeking volunteers with experience in assessing or verifying carbon, waste, water or other environmental impacts. 

You’ll audit data sources, verify existing figures, and research gaps. You’ll help develop consistent frameworks, models and tools, and refine methodologies with the team. 

You’ll need a methodical approach, attention to detail, working knowledge of life‑cycle analysis, and the ability to work independently within a remote team.

By providing an excellent visitor experience as a member of the Living History team, you will be bringing wetlands throughout history, and the history of the mere to life by delivering key messages about how important wetlands are for food, materials, medicine and livelihoods.  This encourages our visitors to make the most of their visit to Martin Mere, and to understand and support our work to save wetlands for wildlife and people.

This role involves:

• Undertaking talks and hands-on activities in our Mere Tun Village about how useful wetlands are. Specifically about villagers settling next to wetlands 1000 years ago to provide them with food, materials for shelter, medicine and items to trade.
• Undertaking talks in our Mere Tun Village about the history of the mere and development of Martin Mere
• Assisting with activities when Mere Tun Village is open as a working village to our visitors in school holidays and weekends.
• Communicating WWT conservation messages and membership during talks about how people in places such as Madagascar still make settlements next to wetlands for their livelihoods.

You will play a major role in:

• developing the server-side logic;
• ensuring high performance and responsiveness;
• ensuring front-end optimization;

What are we looking for?

Three years web development experience with working knowledge of Python and, preferably Django framework.  Ability to:

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that powers the application's back-end logic;
• Integrate user-facing elements;
• Optimize components for maximum performance & scalability;

UK based developers with experience of translating design files into clean, semantic HTML/CSS code and establishing component-based architecture. Ability to:

• Convert design mockups/wireframes into responsive HTML/CSS components;
• Build & maintain reusable component libraries to ensure consistency
• Collaborate with designers & developers to translate visual designs into functional code;
• Optimize components for maximum performance & scalability.

The Fixing Factory is a community repair hub where we teach repair skills, repair and refurbish electrical waste, and help people keep their electrical items in use for longer.

Our work is made possible with the support of a team of volunteers who help people to get their electronic items fixed, learn repair skills and provide valuable support to environmental charities Possible (The 10:10 Foundation) and The Restart Project.

We’re looking for Experienced Fixers to join our volunteer team and help diagnose and repair electrical items at the Haringey Fixing Factory. Your skills will help keep valuable items in use for longer — supporting our mission to reduce waste and support our community.

What you’ll be doing:

• Diagnosing and repairing electrical items such as lamps, kettles, toasters and laptops
• Testing and signing off items ready for sale or donation
• Supporting less experienced fixers with more complex repairs
• Talking one-on-one with members of the public about how items can be repaired
• Helping keep the workshop safe, tidy and welcoming

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has strong electrical repair skills and experience fixing a range of items
• Can work independently and confidently troubleshoot faults
• Is organised, reliable and safety-conscious
• Enjoys sharing knowledge and supporting others
