The Spiritual Arts Foundation is a unique UK arts organisation dedicated to promoting the spiritual exploration of artistic expression. We believe in the transformative power of spirituality and the arts to inspire individuals and communities. Our organisation has over 90 professional creative members, including artists, authors, composers, singer-songwriters, filmmakers, and producers, 1200+ members within our ‘Spiritual Creatives’ Meetup group and a rapidly expanding volunteer management team of more than 40 writers, marketers, art historians, social media and digital marketing experts.
Position Overview:
The Spiritual Arts Foundation is seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Charity Administrator / Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of charity law and regulations in the UK, along with extensive practical experience in setting up charities, Community Interest Companies (CICs), and Companies Limited by Guarantee (CLGs). In addition to possessing exceptional organizational and project management skills, the candidate should also have a genuine interest in spiritual subjects and a passion for making a difference in the world.
Responsibilities:
You will be required to:
- Provide expert guidance and support in the setup and registration of charities, CICs, and CLGs, ensuring compliance with relevant UK legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Consult with our legal team on the preparation of legal documentation, including governing documents, constitutions, and articles of association.
- Assist in the establishment of appropriate governance structures, and work with our HR team regarding the recruitment and training of trustees and board members.
- Assist our management and accounting teams to choose optimal bank accounts and obtain the necessary financial services for new charitable entities.
- Consult with our fundraising team to help implement our strategies for fundraising, donor engagement, and income generation.
- Offer strategic advice on staffing requirements, recruitment processes, and employment contracts.
- Help us to identify potential risks and opportunities associated with charity setup and operation.
- Keep abreast of changes in charity law, regulations, and best practices, and ensure that organizational policies and procedures remain up to date.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to achieve organizational objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in setting up charities, CICs, or CLGs in the UK, including a comprehensive understanding of the legal and regulatory framework.
- Knowledge of charity law, tax regulations, governance principles, and financial management practices.

Debt Justice is looking for a Treasurer to support our board to meet our financial responsibilities. Debt Justice is a UK based campaigning organisation that challenges poverty and inequality caused by unjust debt. In solidarity with global allies, we actively challenge the way that debt is used to sustain colonialism and exploitation in the global economy. At the same time, we use a community organising approach to build the collective power of people with lived experience of debt in local communities across the UK. About the opportunity
We are seeking up to four new trustees to join our board. This important role will ensure the efficient delivery of wellbeing and skills to a wide community of ages, including those with learning, physical and mental health challenges. We are keen to encompass diversity and we would find it especially beneficial to have someone experienced in health and disability or social care. We’re entering our 10th Year and have a new Business Plan to deliver.
What will you be doing?
Road Farm Countryways CIC is looking for another Director /Trustee to join the existing leadership team. We normally have 4-5 voluntary Directors and have an additional group of volunteers more involved with our regular farm helpers on a daily basis.
This vital role includes:
- Improving the quality and sustainability of Countryway’s Care Farming service to people with disabilities.
- Developing and promoting new initiatives, especially considering online options and social media.
- Promoting Care Farming and education opportunities here, incorporating life skills, especially for those transitioning to adulthood.
- Networking with other organisations and sectors in society (e.g. local authorities, health and social care agencies, educational institutions, businesses, other voluntary organisations)
- Developing opportunities to address mental health problems and anxiety amongst families and individuals, especially following the impact of Covid-19
Where and how?
- Flexible hours, but we tend to have a monthly meeting of up to 2 hours (which can be held remotely) with additional communication by phone or email as necessary.
- Own Transport is preferable as there is no direct public transport to the farm. Reasonable out of pocket expenses can be met and some training provided.

Objectives
Road Farm Countryways CIC is committed to enabling farm and countryside interaction to improve well-being, self-worth and promote learning, especially for those rarely able to access it. We work with people with many different life challenges and educational interests including those with learning difficulties, complex needs, physical and mental health problems, providing active Care Farming involvement with animals and learning life skills to help maintain our countryside. Many of our farm helpers cannot cope in large social settings or corporate establishments, but here feel part of a real working environment and become more confident, capable of interaction, self-control and independence, amongst many other positive things. They know that here, they matter. They develop greater independence and improved work and social skills as well as better physical health which impacts their whole wellbeing and indirectly influences their home and family setting for the better.
We also provide educational and special interest group visits, enabling people of all ages to actively learn more about farming and biodiversity interactions, helping develop a love of the outdoors and sustainability. There are opportunities to cook farm field to fork and get involved with crafts too, with an excellent wood-work shop to include all levels of skill. Everyone can do something well and need to know they can, so we try to help this happen!
Activities
By interaction and care with animals (donkeys, goats, hens, turkeys, sheep, cattle etc) and maintaining the countryside (eg coppicing; woodland maintenance, work on bee-hives & bird boxes) in a beautiful, non-threatening place, our service users get involved, learn skills and feel a sense of purpose and inclusion. These can be one-off visits or structured programmes over many months or years with supported learning and reflection built in. All visits are strictly pre-arranged and vary according to individual needs.

You could be the next Treasurer for Home-Start Bracknell Forest, and help drive our vision.
Set up in 1993, we support families with at least one child under five in Bracknell Forest. We are an independent charity, and although associated with the federation of Home-Start UK, our trustees independently govern our direction and manage our finances. As the cost of living crises impact on families, we’re needed more than ever; our trustees are planning our future, and need good financial governance in order to survive and grow.
Our income in 2024/25 will be ~£140k, so we’re a small charity, with a big impact.
The role and what we are looking for in a new Treasurer
Our Board includes people with experience and skills in support for Early Years; we’d expect our new Treasurer to have empathy with our cause and the families we support.
As someone with a professional background in accounting or finance, you’ll use your expertise to help ensure sound fiscal decision-making across all Home-Start Bracknell Forest projects. We’d strongly welcome your financial or bookkeeping qualifications, although our finances aren’t complex. An understanding of how charity finance works is important, of course, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly, especially to other trustees. Support from our employees is always available, as they will be dealing with the day-to-day finances.
You don’t necessarily need prior experience of charity trusteeship, as support from local charity-support organisations is always available. Full induction to our organisation will be provided, plus specialist support as a new trustee including access to external training.
We are a charity not a business, but we apply business principles to governing our organisation. We are looking for fresh expertise and experience from a variety of backgrounds to our charity. We want to expand the diversity of our Board, and strongly welcome applications from people from less-represented groups.
The focus of a trustee role is strategic, and trustees will not be expected to get involved in the organisation’s operations on a day-to-day basis; however, contact and liaison with other trustees and employees is expected.
We ask for about eight hours per month, although that may vary throughout the year, increasing at Year End and AGM, reducing at other times; that includes preparation for and attendance at Board meetings.

The Lipman Miliband Trust is a charity whose purpose is to support socialist research and education as well as “educational activities that raise public awareness and understanding of struggles and movements for peace, human rights and a more equal, diverse co-operative and democratic society.”
The Trust was established by socialist businessman Michael Lipman in 1974 and academic Ralph Miliband until his death in 1994. We are celebrating fifty years of the Trust’s existence this year – and looking forward to the next 50!
Having benefited from a significant increase in resources in recent years we have started on an exciting new phase of our development that has meant increasing staff support and expanding our outreach, fund-raising and grant-giving activities.
We are currently a Board of ten trustees and we are now seeking a Trustee Treasurer who shares our values and our belief in the vital importance of socialist education. You will work with our Trust Coordinator as well as external advisors and accountants in helping to manage our finances and investments, and be a member of our Governance and Finance Working Group. As is the case with all charities, our finances are critical to the success of our work so experience or understanding of financial management and accounting would be very welcome. About the RAF Central Fund (the Fund)
The RAF Central Fund is a 100-year-old charity that supports the 30,000+ serving personnel and over 40 stations that make up the RAF; the charity works to safeguard the health and well-being of serving RAF personnel through access to sporting opportunities and physical activities. The Fund is the primary funder of the 54 RAF Sports Associations and the sports kit and equipment that allows personnel to participate in their chosen sports from grass roots to Olympic level.
The Fund has recently undergone a period of transformational change and merged a partner charity and 36 of the 54 sports associations into itself. The remaining associations are currently in a consultation process with the aim of following suit to merge over the next couple of years. The goal of this change is to reduce the administrative burden and free the associations up to focus on delivering their respective sports for their members. The new construct also allows for improved opportunities relating to the sponsorship of RAF Sport.
The Committee
The RAF Central Fund is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. The Committee is made up of a mix of serving and non-serving members all of whom abide by the Terms of Reference and Code of Conduct.
The Committee meets three times each year virtually or in London or the Buckinghamshire office.
The Role
The terms of office of Committee members will be up to three years. It is anticipated that the time commitment is around one day per quarter, this includes attendance at up to three Committee meetings a year.
Expenses will be paid in accordance with the RAF Central Fund’s expense policy.
The duties of a Committee member include:
· Implementing the Fund’s risk and financial strategies as set by the Board;
· Overseeing management of the strategies in accordance with the Committee Terms of Reference, the Articles and relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks;
· Monitoring the Fund’s financial statements, internal controls and risk management and reporting to the Board any significant issues and judgements;
· Contributing actively to the role of the Committee;
· Working with the Fund’s Committees and Board of Trustees to ensure the financial stability of the charity.
Each member should use any specific skills, knowledge or experience they have to help the Committee reach sound recommendations for the Board of Trustees.
Key Competencies:

· A charitable background preferred;
· Accounting investment experience would be advantageous but not essential.

Kempton Great Engines Trust is the governing body for Kempton Steam Museum, the home of the world’s largest working triple-expansion steam engine. The Trust supports day-to-day operations and drives the ongoing development of the museum as a successful and sustainable visitor attraction.

The Green House offers this lifeline, delivering the only specialist service to children, young people and families who have experienced sexual abuse living in Avon and Somerset.
We are currently recruiting for a new Treasurer to join our Trustee board. As a Trustee of The Green House, you will play a crucial role in setting the strategic direction of the charity and ensuring good governance. You will contribute to ensuring that the charity fulfils its mission, operates effectively, and remains accountable to survivors of child sexual abuse, and their families.
In addition to the general duties as Trustee, as Treasurer you will ensure that effective and appropriate financial measures, controls, and procedures are put in place and report to the Board at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation.

Duties of the Treasurer

Oversee the presentation of budgets, internal management accounts and annual financial statements to the Board of Trustees

Ensure that proper accounting records are kept, and that appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place.

Ensure that robust and comprehensive financial policies and insurances are in place, are revised as and when required, and are being implemented.

Monitor and advise on the financial viability of the charity.

Oversee and develop financial controls and adherence to systems, regularly liaising with The Green House’s Business Development Manager and CEO.

Advise on the financial implications of the charity’s strategic plan, including overseeing the charity’s financial risk-management process and advising the Trustee Board representative and In-House Fundraising Team.

Ensure investments and assets are maximized.

Lead on the appointment of and liaison with external auditors.

Ensure that the accounts are prepared and disclosed in the form required by relevant statutory bodies, including the Charity Commission and the Registrar of Companies.

Keep the board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities and liaising with the Chief Executive to develop the financial understanding of the Board of Trustees.

Additional time is needed to take ownership of actions that arise from meetings (from supporting with recruitment and exit interviews where appropriate, to attending events on The Green House’s behalf). You will also need to be flexible in responding to emergent time-urgent issues when they arise.
