LAWYER

• Reviewing our Green Paper and Constitution; provide advice on how best to approach regulatory hurdles and analyse our complex legal structure.
• Volunteer 4-6 hours per week remotely for 3-4 weeks.

COMMUNITY MANAGER

• Building our community presence from scratch focusing on Twitter, Telegram and Discord; support manageing social media accounts, responding to comments, and fostering a positive community environment; monitor and report on growth and engagement metrics across our channels; and, work directly with both founders.
• Volunteer 4-6 hours per week for 3-5 months.

The Council of Trustees

Worcestershire Wildlife Trust is governed by a council of trustees.  The Council is responsible for ensuring effective governance, setting and monitoring the Trust’s strategic direction and policies and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations (including the Charities Act 2011 and Companies Act 2006). 

Trustees are required to attend council meetings. There are eight of these per year, although this may be supplemented with additional meetings as needed. Trustees meetings are held on Monday evenings at our HQ at Lower Smite Farm with the option to join online via Zoom. Trustees are also required to attend the Annual General Meeting and meetings of any committees or working groups they are involved in. The Chair, Vice Chair, Honorary Treasurer and Honorary Secretary are elected by the Council annually. Council currently has 15 members, you can read the profiles of current Trustees on our website.

The normal mode of communication for council matters is email and electronic format documents. This enables the effective use of time and resources and minimises our environmental impacts where possible.

The Duties of a Trustee

Trustees are committed to devoting time and effort to use their skills, knowledge and experience to help Worcestershire Wildlife Trust achieve its aims:

• Ensure that the Trust complies with its governing documents, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
• Contribute to the development of the Trust’s strategic plan and review as appropriate.
• Act always in the Trust’s best interests, working with fellow trustees to make balanced and adequately informed decisions, considering the long term as well as the short term.
• Avoid putting oneself in a position where one’s duty to the Trust conflicts with personal interests or loyalty to any other person or body.
• Ensure the financial stability of the organisation, taking special care when investing or borrowing and never over-committing the Trust.
• Ensure the Trust’s assets are only used to support or fulfil its charitable purposes and in accordance with its strategic aims and policies.
• Avoid exposing the Trust’s assets, beneficiaries or reputation to undue risk.
• Use reasonable care and skill, making use of knowledge and experience and taking appropriate advice when necessary.
• Devote enough time, thought and energy to the role, for example by preparing for, attending and actively participating in all trustees’ meetings.
• Comply with statutory accounting and reporting requirements and ensure appropriate accountability to members.

Additional Duties

• Scrutinising papers before council meetings.
• Leading or participating actively in discussions.
• Maintaining a focus on key issues.
• Participating in other meetings or working groups as required.

Farmhut's platform provides APIs for financial institutions to assess and finance farmers, as well as tailored loan products and insurance cover at affordable rates. The platform also provides farmers with a user-friendly interface to manage their financial and insurance needs.

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Digital Marketing Specialist to help us improve our brand presence on social media. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
• Volunteer 4-6 hours per week for 6 months.

• Research and identify grant opportunities that align with our organization’s mission and goals; maintain a comprehensive understanding of the grant landscape, including federal, state, local, and private funding sources; develop strategies to secure funding from various grant programs; prepare and submit grant applications in a timely manner; collaborate with team members to gather necessary information for grant applications; and, monitor and manage grant applications, ensuring compliance with grant requirements.

A Good Thing is a not-for-profit set up with one mission: to send less to landfill, and more to a good cause. We are rolling out fast across the UK, momentum is building, and we are growing a network of passionate local volunteer champions right across the country to drive our growth.

You’ll be using your connections (friends, family, colleagues, neighbours...), as well as your insights into the local area, to help us to build the numbers of businesses and charities signing up in your part of the UK. You might do this through making connections with businesses in your area, taking A Good Thing to the doorstep. For nearly a century, Norfolk Wildlife Trust has been committed to the conservation of Norfolk’s wildlife: a commitment expressed in land acquisition, habitat restoration, education, engagement and advocacy. Our passionate belief is that the wildlife of Norfolk deserves a healthy landscape in which to thrive and that people deserve the same.

Trustees are elected for a period of three years, with up to two further periods subject to re-election.  This year we will are looking to recruit a maximum of five Trustees (some of whom may be current Trustees seeking re-election).  We are looking for people who are passionate about nature and who wish to make a difference.

Clean Something For Nothing (CSFN) aims to address the environmental challenge of littering.

• Over 8 million tons of plastic waste end up in the oceans each year
• 136000 cigarette butts are thrown into the world every second
• If we don't act in 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the sea

Littering is a big problem that harms wildlife and human lives costing dozens of billions of euros to tackle it. We aim for a change that starts from grassroots citizen actions.

We believe in the power of community engagement and technology to combat litter pollution. Through our app, CSFN empowers individuals to take simple actions by cleaning up litter in their neighborhoods. By providing a user-friendly interface for tracking, sharing, and celebrating clean-up efforts, we incentivize citizens to make a positive impact on their surroundings. Small efforts repeated by many, lead to global changes.

BRANDING AND MARKETING CONSULTANT

• We seek expert help to shape, define and re-brand CSFN new value proposition. Help us define a new marketing strategy oriented to 1kg +1 tree: 2 euros; implement that strategy for B2B (Companies, municipalities, foundations); and, provide support to implement cohesive brand strategy aligned with our values and archetypes.

South Uist Renewable Energy Ltd (“SURE”) is seeking to appoint a Non-Executive Director for a fixed term of three years.

SURE operates a 6.9MW windfarm on behalf of the community of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides.  The existing board members are democratically elected by the community and this new appointment represents the first board vacancy that is also open to non-residents on a co-opted basis.  This is a fantastic opportunity for a windfarm expert to join the SURE board at a pivotal time.  Upon appointment, the new Non-Executive Director will meet with the Chief Executive and the management team for a comprehensive induction into the operations of the business. 

Standard duties of board membership apply to this role and the collective SURE Board:

• Set the strategic direction of the company
• Protect and enhance the financial performance of the company to maximise the contribution to the wider group of companies
• Focus on risk management and mitigating activity that can be implemented
• Ensure good governance
• Attend quarterly board meetings in South Uist (costs of travel and accommodation will be paid for by SURE)
• Engage in board discussion by drawing on extensive knowledge and expertise to make valuable and meaningful contributions

What SURE is looking for:

• An individual from a corporate background with extensive senior management experience
• Operational expertise in large windfarm projects (≥ 6.9MW), with direct experience of PPA negotiations, insurance policies, fault monitoring and maintenance contracts
• Experience in the windfarm repowering process would be a distinct advantage
• A qualified accountant or someone experienced in providing financial insight at strategic level
• An individual with 10+ years of board level experience

This position is open to anyone interested in Friends of the Earth and its local campaigns in the borough of Camden. As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will be crucial in building and maintaining a strong network of our group members and volunteers.
