What We’re Looking For

We are looking for people willing to bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role, and who will broaden the diversity of thinking on our board. Amy’s Place is a partnership between the Amy Winehouse Foundation and Clarion Housing, providing supported living accommodation for young women aged 18-30 in recovery from drugs, alcohol and other addictive behaviors.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and compassionate volunteer with good interpersonal skills and a desire to teach drums, who will support young women to develop their drumming skills and positively encourage their creative expression.

Activities

• Providing drum lessons to residents, as well as supporting their individual musical goals
• Developing and delivering individual session plans and documented session outcomes in order to assist each resident’s personal growth 

Commitment 

This is a flexible opportunity and volunteering times and frequency will vary depending on the volunteer’s availability and the needs of the residents. We recommend weekly or bi-weekly one-to-one sessions for a minimum of 3 months.

Support 

•  Volunteers receive a thorough induction and have access to any relevant in-house and external training
•  Reasonable travel and lunch expenses will be reimbursed
• The role is based at the service in East London. The exact address cannot be given until the volunteer starts due to safety and privacy reasons.

It’s fantastic that you’d like to find out more about volunteering at St Mungo’s. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us at one of our cheer points at the Hackney Half Marathon on Sunday 19 May 2024! We’re National Charity Partners for the race and have a team of 100 amazing runners taking part on the day.

We’re looking for cheer point volunteers who are able to give a few hours of their time on the morning of the race, to help us cheer on our team of runners and show them how much we appreciate all the hard work that has gone into their fundraising and training. Your role will be to make as much noise as possible and give our runners a huge cheer as they pass by!

Stay is a leading homelessness charity in Telford and Wrekin and has been operating for over 30 years providing housing and support services to homeless and vulnerable people. We’re passionate about preventing homelessness and empowering individuals to rebuild their lives.

We're looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our Board of Trustees.  The role is voluntary but travel and other reasonable expenses are paid. You do not need previous governance experience – we will provide an induction and training.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for people to join our board of trustees to help take Cheltenham Almshouses and Aid forward.  We would particularly welcome those with experience of building maintenance and development of new properties, health and safety, finance and investment, risk control, social care and marketing.

Many of the properties we own are of older stock and there is a constant challenge to keep the buildings well maintained and up to standard, in line with health and safety requirements whilst providing comfortable and affordable living.

We have recently built four new wonderful apartments within a conservation area and may possibly in the future look at extending our current stock of properties with more new builds.

We have a healthy balance sheet and would look to new trustees to guide the charity with new investment opportunities.

At present we have little presence on social media and would welcome a trustee on board who could help us in this field and ultimately give us the presence we so need.  By maintaining a wait list this reduces the risk of void apartments and subsequent decrease in income.

We provide housing to many people who are working but cannot afford the market rents, for those retired who want to live in well maintained, peaceful communities.  Some of our beneficiaries may need help with more personal matters such as benefit applications, liaising with social services, the clerk will deal with these aspects directly but additional knowledge of areas such as benefits and pensions would be immensely valuable to our beneficiaries, some of whom may not have any family members nearby to support them.

We are looking for a talented filmaker to work alongside the activity co-ordinator to create a short film with the residents of a homeless hostel in Westminster.

Last year the residents engaged in a photography project, which culminated in an exhibition. It would be exciting this year to create a film which they are part of creating. 

We have four DSLR cameras which are of good qaulity, and we can use these to create the film. We also have some other bits of equipment which we can use. 

You will be fully supported in this role, and work alongside the activity co-ordiantor, and we can also cover travel costs.

We are looking for a friendly and experienced painter and decorator, to work with residents at a homeless hostel in London. 

The role would consist of working with residents to teach and help them to paint areas of the hostel, this would be a fantastic and empowering role, which would offer some of the clients an oppotunity to learn a skill, or use they skills they already have to do something positive in there surrondings. 

We will be able to provide all the equipment for painting, and can also cover travel costs. You will also be fully supported by staff, and work alongside them in this position.

We are looking for dedicated Outreach Volunteers in the London Boroughs of Kingston, Richmond and Wandsworth. We would particularly like to hear from you if you live in or near the above boroughs.

The Outreach teams encounter people on their first steps from homelessness to independence – providing pathways and support to assist people off the streets.

We work with people who are rough sleeping and we do shifts late at night, and early in the morning, to find these individuals. SPEAR then works with people on a housing pathway and assists them to link into various support services, tailored to the challenges an individual might face.

SPEAR is looking for self-motivated, outgoing, and empathic people who could volunteer to provide support to vulnerably housed, rough sleepers, or anyone using homelessness services in the London boroughs of Richmond, Wandsworth and Kingston.

The volunteer will enjoy developing positive relationships with new people and will be willing to work outside of their own comfort zone providing support and assistance to the Outreach Teams clients. The volunteer must have an enhanced DBS background check (SPEAR will apply for this on your behalf.)
It would be desirable if you had a driving license.

It is fantastic that you would like to find out more about volunteering at St Mungo’s. As an Outreach volunteer you will be assisting outreach workers to support Romanes or Romanian speaking clients face-to-face or over the phone. Other tasks involved in this role will include helping clients access support around immigration, employment, reconnections, and accommodation, to have a good understanding of the Roma communities and have knowledge of the UK EUSS requirements while understanding the rights clients have with pre settled statues and settled statues. For this role it is required that you can speak Romanes or Romanian fluently or to a high level.

In this role, you will be supporting us with some or all of the following tasks:

• Assisting outreach workers to support Romanes or Romanian speaking clients face to-face or over the phone.

• Engaging with rough sleepers who have been referred via StreetLink and those known to the team, supporting the key worker with general assessments

• Helping clients access support around immigration, employment and reconnections and accommodation.

• Working together with the outreach worker and divide tasks where appropriate, such as accompanying clients to appointments

• Supporting outreach workers with navigation and note taking.

• Engaging with rough sleeping clients with sensitivity and respect.

• Adhering to St Mungo’s Policies and Procedures at all times.

• Promoting St Mungo’s work in an appropriate manner.

• Actively promoting equality, diversity and inclusion among staff, fellow volunteers and clients.

Hello there, 

We are looking for a friendly barber/haidresser to cut hair once or twice a month in a hostel in Westmintser. The hostel is part of the chairty Single homeless project, where we support people out of the homelessness pathway, into indpendnece and better wellbeing. 

When the resident has a haircut as with anyone it can make such a difference to how someone feels about themselves, if you have your own barber tools and are willing to come and cut a few gentlmens hair once or twice a month, it could make such a positive difference for some of the residents, and make them feel better about themselves.

The role of the Health Link Event Volunteer is an important one to the charity as we support very entrenched, institutionalised and isolated clients to access services in their borough.

LOCATION/S: Our Health and Wellbeing days are held across Richmond, Kingston, Wandsworth, Merton and Sutton Boroughs. We hold approximately one Health and Well-being day per month in one of the above locations.

Role Title:

Digital Team Volunteer, Glasgow

Role summary:

The role will provide support to the Scotland digital team including quality assurance and data collection, accessibility, and admin tasks.

The digital team research, design, develop and build the housing advice pages of the website as well as working with the wider Scotland team to produce the pages on the wider Scotland site.

Suggested Commitment:

Volunteer four hours per week for six months with a view to increase. This will be based in our Glasgow Office.

Scotland is in the grip of a devastating housing emergency which damages lives every single day.

A record 9,595 children trapped in temporary accommodation – up 130% since 2014.

45 children become homeless every day.

Main Tasks:

• Quality assurance and data collection tasks including auditing the website in relation to imagery, broken links, collecting data and meta data.
• Helping to improve the accessibility of the site including adding alt text to images and checking links are formatted consistently.
• Admin tasks including tidying up unused and duplicate components on the content management system and adding acceptance criteria to user needs bank from the miro collaborative board.
• Attend team meetings including sprint planning, stand ups, crits and helping to (review) content.

About Zetetick Housing Charity

We provide quality supported living homes to adults with disabilities, autism, learning disabilities and/or mental health problems. We are passionate about our cause to help those marginalised by society. Many of our homes have gardens which are sanctuaries for those we support.

Your help as a gardening volunteer will assist us greatly in supporting our tenants to make the most of their garden space over the upcoming Spring and Summer months.

Job Description

As a gardening volunteer, you will help our Maintenance and Support team either in Sussex or Croydon with tidying up and clearing gardens to benefit our tenants.
