Telea's solution is a comprehensive digital health platform designed to revolutionize speech therapy services. It enables seamless communication and interaction between speech therapists and their clients, facilitating remote delivery of therapy exercises and monitoring of client progress. The platform consists of two main components: a patient app and a therapist web app.

The patient app allows clients to access therapy exercises and activities from the comfort of their own homes using their mobile devices or tablets. These exercises are personalized to each client's specific needs and therapy goals. Clients can receive real-time feedback and guidance as they complete their exercises, fostering engagement and motivation throughout their therapy journey.

On the other hand, the therapist web app provides speech therapists with a centralized platform to manage their caseload and interact with their clients. Therapists can create customized therapy plans, track client progress, and adjust interventions as needed. They can also conduct virtual therapy sessions and remotely monitor client performance, optimizing therapy delivery and maximizing therapist efficiency. This not only empowers the therapist but also the client improving their quality of life overall through speech therapy.

Role Description

• Telea is looking to highlight and bring to life the stories of people living with Parkinsons. They are looking to create a series of short interviews with people who are living with Parkinson's and share their stories and journeys to raise awareness. Parkinson's is the fastest-growing neurodegenerative disease, and 1 in 5 people get diagnosed - They want to make sure that awareness is raised around this condition with the general public and make sure their stories are never forgotten. If this sounds like a role you would like to be part of, They are looking for somebody with some editing experience and videography skills. They would like to do a few interviews. You will need to be based in Ireland, ideally in the South (They are based in Cork).

What we’re looking for 

We’re looking for people to join our Board with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• Finance – you might be a qualified accountant and have a background in finance and audit so that you can provide vital skills to help the Board oversee our financial management. An understanding of charity accounts and regulations would absolutely be an advantage. 

• Marketing & Communications – we want to reach new audiences to ensure a diverse and inclusive approach, and we are aiming to do that at scale. You may have experience of providing strategic support for increasing our reach and visibility. 

• Marine Conservation - you might have environmental knowledge, ideally on the marine environment, with policy and/or practical experience of conservation. A network of contacts across the marine sector, particularly with business or government, would be an advantage.

What you can bring to our Board can be just as interesting as where you’ve been working. You do not need to have previous charity trustee experience, but you will need to be comfortable participating at a senior level with complex discussions and the need to be comfortable making pragmatic but key decisions.

You’ll also gain insight and knowledge from your fellow Trustees, with everyone’s skills being recognised and valued. 

Trustees are volunteers, so the role is not paid but we will cover your costs for travelling and any overnight stays to attend meetings or events.

The broad policy, managerial, and financial concerns of Fish Legal are managed by the committee—you don’t have to be a solicitor, but you must have a keen interest in issues affecting the water environment, ready to bring your knowledge and skills to your role as a committee member.

You must be prepared to give approximately 10 days per annum as a committee member working on behalf of Fish Legal without remuneration, other than reasonable legitimate expenses incurred—and all members of the Fish Legal Committee must also be willing and eligible to act as a non-executive director of the A.C.A Trustee Company Limited (meetings of the A.C.A Trustee Company Limited are held on the same day as Fish Legal committee meetings).

Who we are

Rivers, lakes, and coastal waters across the UK are among the richest and most cherished habitats supporting diverse species of fish, mammals, insects, and plants—they are also some of the most vulnerable. Our rivers and other water bodies have historically suffered from pollution, over-abstraction, and host of other impacts which can prove devastating to fragile water ecosystems.

Fish Legal fights to protect all inland and coastal waters in the UK from pollution and other damage. We use the full range of the law—common, statutory, public, and criminal—and we have a long track record of winning cases and securing compensation to enable our members to restore their waters.

Our solicitors (both English and Scots-qualified) represent Fish Legal’s member clubs, fisheries, and riparian owners in seeking compensation from offenders who cause pollution or other damage to rivers and still waters—the compensation we win goes back to those members to carry out habitat work or re-stock the waters.

We obtain injunctions to prevent activities which threaten to damage the aquatic environment and, if broken, offenders can find themselves in contempt of court and can even be jailed.

Funds raised by Fish Legal as well as funds donated by individuals, angling clubs, and federations are effectively pooled so that no one person must foot the costs of bringing defendants to court.

Our sister organisation, the Angling Trust, is the national governing body for the sport of angling in England as well as a leading voice in the protection and enhancement of the aquatic environment—working alongside partner NGOs to advocate greater environmental protection, lobby for positive change, and influence policy development.

International Aid for the Protection & Welfare of Animals (IAPWA) is a UK registered charity founded to create a better future for animals in need. What began as a desire to help one dog in the rainforests of Borneo in 2009 has since developed into a range of projects and support programmes that has supported over 41,000 animals around the world.

IAPWA's Individual Giving team work hard to raise one-off donations from animal lovers to fund our general work, as well as to help individual dogs and cats in need of urgent veterinary care after being rescued from the streets.

The team are now seeking Fundraising Volunteers to take the lead on maximising income from our individual patient appeals (usually ran via JustGiving) by going out into their networks and asking people to donate, as well as seeking new audiences (online and offline) to boost donations. Each month you will focus on helping one individual animal who has been rescued from the streets, meaning your efforts will contribute to this animal getting the veterinary treatment and support they desperately need to have a bright future.

What we're looking for:

You don't need to have any prior fundraising experience. In fact, you may be wanting to break into the charity sector, or just have a desire to help animals. Either way, all you need to succeed in this role is grit and determination, plus a passion for helping stray animals who have nobody else to rely on. Choice International is a non-profit organisation promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in the UK and overseas. It researches, develops and implements development projects for disabled people and other disadvantaged people in the UK and overseas.

We are seeking a Fundraising Volunteer to support with writing funding proposals, completing funding applications to trusts and foundations as well as contacting corporates for sponsorship for events and one-off projects. You will work form our office based in East London to support with raising funds for our events and organisation in the long term.

Your Key responsibilities will include:

- Assisting with researching and approaching corporate entities, national and international, for event sponsorships, partnerships, Charity of the Year partnerships, and donations from corporate foundations

- Assisting with writing and delivering compelling presentations and proposals for funding to trusts, foundations and other institutes

- Writing emails and speaking with potential partners over the phone about the work of Choice with the aim of securing funds for the organisation.

About Bookmark

Bookmark exists to change children’s life stories through the joy of reading. We partner with schools to develop whole school reading cultures and to provide one-to-one reading support.

For the children who need us, we’re changing their story. 

About the role

Each year, one in four children leave primary school unable to read well and disadvantaged children are disproportionately affected. Struggling to read can contribute to poor educational attainment, lower literacy in adulthood and has even been linked to a lower life expectancy. 

Bookmark volunteers spend one hour a week reading stories and playing games with a child aged between five and ten years old, on our secure online platform. The programme involves two 30-minute sessions a week with the same child, for six weeks. You book your programme through the Bookmark Volunteer Hub and select sessions at times that work with your schedule.

New government data shows that attainment fell further for poorer pupils this year which has widened the attainment to the largest it has been in 10 years.  

As a Bookmark volunteer, you’ll help to bridge this gap. You’ll:

• Help children who struggle with their reading gain essential skills at a crucial age. This will prepare them to move up the school, ready to tackle new challenges without falling further behind. Three quarters of our volunteers noticed their reader become more confident with their reading.
• Make learning to read fun by bringing your own personality into the sessions and getting to know your reader’s interests. It’s amazing when you introduce a book, comic or poem for the first time that they love! 90% of teachers said that pupils enjoy reading more after our programme.
• Give a child one-to-one attention and be a role model. Teachers have told us that children really benefit from this dedicated time and found it boosted their self-esteem and confidence as well as their reading. You can read more about this in our Impact Report.

Helping a child with their reading is also really fun and rewarding. Over 60% of our volunteers said their own wellbeing had improved because of volunteering with Bookmark.

Is volunteering with Bookmark right for me?

Our volunteers are all ages and from all walks of life. At Bookmark we aim to make volunteering accessible to as many people as possible, so we can help more children.

• Are you over 18 and currently living in the UK?
• Are you passionate about literacy and its importance?
• Are you able to show enthusiasm, encouragement, empathy and patience?
• Can you commit to two 30-minute sessions a week, for six consecutive weeks?

Sepsis is a life-threatening condition that affects 245,000 people in the UK every year. At least 48,000 of those people lose their lives to the condition. We believe that earlier diagnosis and treatment across the UK would save thousands more lives a year.

The UK Sepsis Trust (UKST) was founded in 2012. Founder and Executive Director, Dr Ron Daniels BEM, is an NHS Consultant in Intensive Care:

Key Tasks and Responsibilities will include:

• Working with the Chairman, fellow Trustees and Management Team to ensure UKST’s cultural values and ethos are fully understood and adhered to throughout the organisation
• Encouraging team-working and collaboration across the charity’s activities including supporters and volunteers
• Along with fellow Trustees, making decisions that will best enable the charity to carry out its purposes. Contributing to balanced and informed decisions about the long term as well as the short-term requirements for UKST
• Ensuring the Charity’s assets and resources are only used to support it carrying out its purpose
• Providing ad hoc advice to the Management Team on specific topics relevant to their skills and knowledge
• Keeping up to date with Charity Commission legislation changes
• Continually monitoring the Trust’s progress to determine if strategic priorities need to be adjusted

• Significant leadership experience and commitment to our purpose
• Ability to drive organisational change and navigate growth
• Willingness and ability to understand responsibilities and liabilities as Trustees of a Charity
• Ability to think creatively and strategically, exercise good, independent judgement, and work effectively as a Board member
• Effective communication skills and willingness to participate actively in discussion, and numeracy to the extent required to understand the financial records and accounts

Time Commitment

The time commitment of the Trustees is variable but as a minimum they are required to attend the following:

• The Trustees have four formal meetings each year with the management team (2 of which are in person in either Birmingham/London).
• In addition there are four informal meetings with the management team along with regular Trustee only meetings which are all held virtually
• The Finance and Governance Trustee would also be required to attend four finance and audit committee meetings per year.

IAD is looking for a Lobbying Lead to manage the Lobbying Team to help us advance our charitable goal to promote and defend democracy. The candidate must be able to commit 5 hours per week to this role.

The International Association for Democracy (IAD) is an NGO that works to defend and advance democracy around the globe. We link people with their governments and lobby governments to promote, strengthen and safeguard democratic institutions, processes, norms and values at home and abroad. We also work towards raising public awareness about the current state of democracy around the world and what should be done to better defend and promote democracy. Objectives of this Role

• Manage the lobbying team
• Develop a political strategy for IAD
• Identify key politicians we should lobby 
• Lobby relevant politicians to advance IAD's charitable goals
• The candidate is expected to volunteer for 5 hours per week to this role

Skills, Qualifications & Requirements

• A bachelor's and/or master’s degree in Political Science, International Relations or a related field
• Proven experience in lobbying/advocacy (minimum 1 year)
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Very good written and verbal communication skills
• Fluent in English
• Basic understanding of Google Workspace and collaboration tools on Google Docs
• Candidate must be available to have calls with politicians during working hours (9am - 5pm) every now and then (approximately once every two weeks)
