In the UK it’s estimated we only wear 1/4 of our wardrobes. That’s 1.6 billion unworn items of clothing in the UK alone, mainly due to bad design, bad fit and poor quality. This is leading to a global crisis. By 2050, 150 million tonnes of clothes will be in landfill. In fact, the problem is so huge you can already see a textile landfill in Chile from space.
There’s no need for those clothes to be thrown away. There are tens of thousands of designers and seamstresses in the UK who can help repair, alter or redesign your clothes - saving them from landfill and giving them a whole new lease of life. But currently ordering custom made or upcycling your clothes is expensive and inaccessible. Would you even know where to start? INFLUENCER PARTNERSHIP MANAGER
- Reach out and foster relationships with micro-influencers, partner with influencers on collaborations and campaigns monitor end-to-end progress of campaigns and support with influencer strategy and ideation of collaborations.
- Volunteer 4-6 hours per week remotely for 3-5 months.

We are looking for people with excellent interpersonal skills to join our Safeguarding team. Safeguarding is central to the work of St John Ambulance because it ensures that the diverse range of services we provide to children and adults at risk of harm, are delivered safely. Safeguarding Team Members do this in a number of ways e.g. by monitoring the implementation of the safeguarding policy, by responding to questions regarding and giving guidance etc.
Learning is at the heart of St John Ambulance and we offer a very large range of learning and developmental opportunities to our volunteers, including the full professional training that is essential for our Safeguarding Team Members:
·Safeguarding Awareness
·Safeguarding in Practice
·Working safely with Children and Adults at Risk of Harm
This role is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitations Offenders Act.
Mandatory training for role:
- Safeguarding in Practice weekend within 12 months of joining and every three years thereafter. Usually the first or second weekend in March.
- Annual CPD event weekend, Usually the last weekend of September.
- Annual Regional Safeguarding Meeting event. Held on a Saturday from 09.00 hrs to 17.00 hrs. Timing and location changes each year.
Weekend events are Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime. The location of the events changes each year.
The closing date for this vacancy is Wednesday 1st January 2025.

Role Description
CARA (Centre for Action on Rape and Abuse) works with victims and survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse, providing independent, specialist support and promoting and representing their rights and needs. CARA works with adults of all genders, young people (aged 12-19) and children aged under 12 from across mid and north Essex.
Over the last 8 years, CARA has grown significantly. Our client numbers have more than quadrupled and we now offer a wide range of services to victims and survivors of all ages and genders. We currently have a team of 40 full and part-time staff and over 20 sessional counsellors.
CARA is interested in hearing from people who might like to join our Board. As a CARA Board member, you will have an opportunity to be actively involved in the running of a forward-thinking and fastdeveloping feminist charity. Our Board of trustees provide strategic direction and governance to CARA, supporting the management team and overseeing all aspects of our work. CARA’s Board of Trustees are also registered as our directors for the purposes of company law.
CARA trustees have the following statutory duties and responsibilities:
• To set and maintain vision, mission and values.
• To develop strategy.
• To establish and monitor policies.
• To set up employment procedures.
• To ensure compliance with CARA’s governing document (constitution).
• To ensure accountability.
• To ensure compliance with the law.
• To maintain proper financial oversight.
• To respect the role of staff.
• To maintain effective Trustees performance.
• To promote CARA.
Other duties:
In addition to the above statutory duties, each trustee should use any specific skills, knowledge or experience they have to help the Board reach sound decisions. This may involve:
• Scrutinising board papers.
• Leading and contributing to discussions.
• Focusing on key issues.
• Providing guidance on new initiatives.
A CARA trustee should have the following qualities:
• Integrity
• The skills and experience to make informed decisions on governance of a charity.
• A commitment to CARA and our vision, mission, aims and values.
• Willingness to devote the necessary time and effort.
• Strategic vision.
• Good, independent judgement.
• Ability to think creatively.
• Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship. Please refer to the Charity Commission guidance
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
Our current Board have a wide range of skills, and we regularly conduct skills audits to ensure our Board has the expertise needed to ensure CARA’s effective governance. To enhance our existing Board of Trustees, we are particularly seeking applications from people with the following skills and experiences:
• Business acumen
• Income generation
• Knowledge of the Women’s Sector
• Property and premises management.
People from Black and minority ethnic groups are currently under-represented on CARA’s Board of Trustees, and we particularly welcome applications from people from these groups. Applications from survivors of sexual violence or child sexual abuse are always welcome.
All members of CARA’s Board of Trustees are required to make a minimum commitment to the organisation. This includes attendance at Trustees meetings, which are held every other month, starting at 7.30pm. Meetings are usually held on Zoom, but occasional travel to Colchester for face-to-face meetings is also required.
All trustee appointments will be conditional on an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, and satisfactory references.

We are The Children's Book Project and we work passionately to enable children to have access to books. We are just establishing our presence in Birmigham as we grow nationally and have, in 2023, celebrated gifting out 1 millionth book. We gift to children in schools and in prisons trying to tackle book poverty and give every child the opportunity to own a book of their own. Our charity is very much a family - we are grassroots and powered by an extraordinary team of volunteers.
We really need some support in the Birmingham area and are hoping to find 1 or 2 amazing volunteers who are willing to drive for us during school term time - collecting and delivering the books that our other volunteers have gathered and packed with love and care!
What we need...
A committment of between 4-6 hours every month - Only during school term times
The ability to lift and move books and boxes ( a great workout!)
A full, clean UK driving licence, over 25 years old with permission to work in the UK
Happy to drive our van , Betsy!
