Wymering Manor Trust
Would you like to join the Wymering Manor Trust? Are you passionate about local heritage and the role it can play in enriching its local communities.We are looking for new trustees to help us restore Portsmouth’s Elizabethan gem.
Our aim is to repair, restore, and build a sustainable future for the manor, for local people to enjoy as their ‘home from home’, as we manage the building to earn its keep by letting rooms for events, meetings, education and training, putting on plays, ghost hunting, socialising and new activities. Once restored, it will be a centre for the local community and a catalyst for regeneration of this area of the city, offering help in wellbeing, tackling loneliness and isolation, developing personal skills and bringing the community together to shape its future.
We’re are currently aiming to raise the funding we need to repair the main structure of the building.We have consultants’ plans for business development, financial feasibility, design options, audience development, catering and weddings and interpretation.We are also looking to develop the option of becoming a Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Building Conservation.
To make our plans a reality, we are seeking new trustees who recognise the contemporary role of heritage places, spaces and culture, and who value the contribution they make in creating and sustaining social, educational, environmental and economic development, as well as supporting the importance of volunteering to our community. Together, the trustees will shape the next key stages of the manor’s future.We are particularly interested in applications from people with specific expertise or experience in any of the following:
*historic building conservation practice
*fundraising, local, regional and UK wide
*public relations, communications and marketing
*the role of heritage, heritage practices, tangible and intangible cultural heritage
*commercial and/or property legal experience.
Trustees meet once a month on a Wednesday evening and also attend quarterly meetings with the volunteers.

Swan Lifeline is the oldest registered charity devoted entirely to the care of sick and injured swans in the Thames Valley and surrounding areas and has cared for over 30,000 sick and injured swans. We are based on the magical Island setting of Cuckoo Weir Island in Eton, Berkshire. Borderline Support UK CIC are a small non-profit organisation made up entirely of volunteers. We work to support people with borderline personality disorder through peer support groups, signposting, and more.
Lived experience isn’t necessary for this post, but it would be an advantage.
We are currently looking for enthusiastic and passionate Research Assistants who can dedicate a few hours a month to work on projects with Borderline Support UK. We aren’t looking for people with buckets of experience (although please apply if you do!), so no matter your experience we’d like to hear from you. The more Lived Experience voices we have on our team, the better!

The Operations Assistant supports the Chair with all administration to enable Hidayah to function smoothly. Responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Providing administrative support to the Chair including scheduling meetings, managing calendars and responding to emails
- Creating process flows to enable service delivery and monitor progress
- Preparing meeting agendas, taking notes and sharing meeting minutes
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and databases including documents on the Google Drive
- Aiding in the planning and execution of all operational projects and initiatives
- Preparing reports, presentations, and documentation as needed e.g., for annual reports
- Responding to inquiries and providing information to internal and external stakeholders
- Performing other duties and tasks as assigned by the Chair
How much time is required?
We are flexible around your schedule but we anticipate that the role will require around 4 hours per week. The following commitments are in place for all Hidayah volunteers:
- Aim to attend all relevant meetings, delivering a comprehensive report with updates and to complete actions as and when they appear
- Aim to attend all other planning meetings as necessary
- Attend Hidayah events (where geographically possible)
- Help to fundraise for, and advertise, any Hidayah events and fundraising drives
- Add to and maintain the administration of our file sharing system ‘Google Drive’ to ensure it’s up to date with clear records, templates and forms
- Check and respond to emails in a timely manner
- Contribute to the communications group (via Discord) and stay up to date with Hidayah developments
- Provide information, statements and data for the annual report
- Keep up to date with Hidayah communication and organisational developments
This role is subject to a 6 months probationary period with a 2 month notice period should you wish to resign.
What is expected from an Operations Assistant?
Knowledge:
- Educated to degree level or experience which demonstrates equivalent analytical ability
- Knowledge of quality assurance systems and their benefits for the voluntary sector
- Knowledge of good governance procedures for the voluntary sector
- Understanding of confidentiality, equality and diversity and safeguarding procedures
Personality:
- A self-starter who can volunteer with minimal supervision
- Friendliness, enthusiasm, dedication, responsiveness, flexibility and eagerness in supporting the aims, vision and mission of Hidayah
Personal Skills:
- Confidence taking the lead with plans and ideas at Trustee meetings
- Ability to resolving conflict situations if needed
- Professionalism in all situations
Administration Skills:
- A high degree of literacy in Microsoft Office and IT Applications

- Participating and contributing to discussions on the Hidayah Discord server
- Read all Hidayah policies, keeping up to date with any changes
- Read, understand and agree with the constitution of Hidayah (available on our website)

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- As our Startup Launch & Product Development Manager, you will be at the helm of bringing Zestful Blends' vision to life. Your initial focus will be on managing the launch of our startup, overseeing the orchestration of various tasks leading up to the grand opening, and ensuring a seamless introduction of our brand to the market. Following the launch, your role will pivot to the continuous development and management of new product introductions, leading the charge from ideation through execution. You will be responsible for maintaining timelines, coordinating with different departments, and ensuring that each product rollout embodies the essence of our fruit-forward brand and meets our commitment to health and sustainability.
- Volunteer 4-6 hours per week remotely for 6 months.
