Kidderminster Foodbank are seeking to recruit Trustees with an interest in helping others, who are willing to uphold the food bank’s values, and who can bring life experience to the board of trustees. Trustees have collective responsibility for the governance of the organisation and for all decisions made by the Board. They set the strategic direction for the organisation, ensuring alignment to our values, and are responsible for setting organisational policy, defining goals, agreeing the financial plan, evaluating performance, and ensuring that strong relationships are maintained between the Trustees and the Management & Volunteer Team.
Key tasks:
- To manage the charity’s resources responsibly, including ensuring the charity’s assets are used only to carry out its purpose, avoid undue risk and not over-commit the charity.
- To ensure the board regularly reviews its structures, roles, relationship to staff and implementing changes if and when necessary.
- To develop a long-term strategy for the food bank with clear objectives which can be monitored and adapted.
- To work alongside the Treasurer and the board to ensure the organisation’s financial dealings are systematically accounted for and on time, independently examined (on income over £25k) and made publicly available when necessary.
- To ensure the charity is accountable, actively complying with statutory accounting and reporting requirements and the law.
- To ensure appropriate financial plans are in place for future budget allocations as well as looking after contractual agreements with external partners that award money for core costs and additional projects.
- To help promote the organisation to a wide audience of potential funders and beneficiaries and community stakeholders.
- To ensure the food bank has appropriate procedures to: comply with current legislation and good practice; including employment, health and safety, equal opportunities, safeguarding & GDPR compliance/data protection etc.
- To act with reasonable care and skill, giving your time, thought and energy to your role.
- To prepare for and regularly attend and participate in board and subcommittee meetings and any trustee away days.
- To provide ad hoc support to the staff team and volunteers from time to time.
- To act at all times in accordance with the foodbank’s trustee code of conduct.
The Trustees may also undertake additional work for the charity between meetings subject to their availability and skill set.

We are looking for people who want to help their local community and work towards the eradication of food poverty whilst supporting the food bank to continue to provide emergency food to people who find themselves in crisis. Our ideal candidates would demonstrate a:

Saturday Shop Assistant Volunteer needed! - Eastbourne

The role
We are looking for Saturday Shop Assistant volunteers to support our Eastbourne shop team. The best thing about this is that you can make this role entirely your own: from serving customers at the till, to taking care of bookings, mending items that need a bit of love or bringing your incredible knowledge and passion to our Book section, there is always something to do on the shopfloor!
You will join a wonderful team made of a Shop Manager, Assistant Manager, van driver and van assistants as well as some volunteers. Free hot beverage and biscuits always available on site as well as bi-annual shop team events!
Shift patterns
We are looking for support on Mondays as a priority but would be grateful to receive help anytime. The shift pattern is either a half day (morning shift: 8.30am – 12pm or afternoon shit: 12pm – 4.30pm) or a full day (8.30am – 4.30pm).

Furniture Now! is an East Sussex chain of charity furniture stores, part of the Now! charity group Ltd. We aim to end local poverty and fight for the environment. We act at different levels by making furniture accessible to those most in need through our special two tier discount, working in partnership with social funds to furnish refugees’ homes and issue grants to environmentally and socially focused local actions.

As a Camera Assistant, you will set up Cameras at events, workshops, on location and in the Studio for Videos, Podcasts and Live streams.
This work involves a mixture of static Cam and roving Cam setups depending on the shooting location, and you will be required to ensure high quality of recording, checking that white balance, ISO, aperture, focus, zoom and exposure are set correctly.
Whilst not in the office, you will be required to work on research and admin tasks.
The objective of the role is:
- Setting up and monitoring the cameras and lighting in the Studio for Podcasts and live streams.
- Setting up cameras and lighting and providing roving Cam on location and at events and workshops.
- Working on Research and admin tasks when not in the studio.
- Keeping track of inventory and Camera equipment and updating lists as needed.
- Taking careful notes during meetings and writing up reports based on notes.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience with DSLR/Mirrorless cameras
- Experience with professional camcorders (e.g. Sony NX100 or similar)
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Previous broadcast or live streaming experience
- Previous experience with Multicam setup
- Experience with stabiliser rigs
- Experience and knowledge of good lighting setup, arrangements, and techniques, such as 3-point lighting, and the use of diffusers
- Experience in the use of HDMI, SDI, and Cat6 cables, extensions, and adapters
- Show professionalism at all levels and in all environments
- Be a strong team player
- Well organized, pro-active, self-starter and able to deliver tasks efficiently.
- Good time-management skills

- Organising and attending awareness and fundraising events within the community
- Identifying new fundraising and awareness opportunities
- Helping at events
- Delivering presentations to community groups, schools, etc through
- SSAFA’s speaker programme
- Event administration
- Social media marketing

Volunteer your time at Hestia to make our gardens a beautiful place for adults and children to enjoy all year through! Are you green fingered and have a passion for gardens and outdoor spaces?
At Hestia we have gardens and outdoor spaces which require your support to bring these back to life by keeping them maintained. We are recruiting for volunteers to motivate and inspire staff and people living in our services to get involved in gardening.
What you will be doing
- Inspire and motivate staff and people in the services to get involved in maintaining and growing the garden
- To provide tips on how to maintain and grow the garden - sowing seeds, planting bulbs, taking cuttings
- Provide basic maintenance such as cutting the grass, emptying bins, managing weed control and leaf raking
- Lead in planting and nurturing new trees, flowers, and various plants
- Provide best practice on how to use the correct gardening tools
- Inspire people in our services and staff to maintain a clean garden
- Advise staff on the costs of plants and garden necessities
The skills you need
- A basic knowledge/ experience of plant care and use of gardening tools7
- Calm and patient approach
- Good communication skills
- Ability to provide a supportive, and inclusive atmosphere that encourages learning and participation
