Join us as a Trustee at The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain! As a registered charity, we’re seeking dedicated individuals to guide us in fulfilling our mission with integrity and passion.
Responsibilities include shaping strategic direction, safeguarding the organisation’s values, ensuring financial stability, and actively contributing to board decisions. Trustees play a key role in promoting openness, honesty, and leadership.
We’re looking for committed individuals with a love for brass banding and youth music, and expertise in areas like arts management, funding development, audience development, marketing and communication.

We are building a team of enthusiastic and personable community liaison volunteers to help us raise the profile of Mental Health Resource within the local community, strengthen relations with local companies and promote and gain support for the charity.
We need community liaison volunteers to provide an active presence at local community events on an ad hoc basis: talking to people to promote our services and encourage engagement with Mental Health Resource. The Watford & Three Rivers Refugee Partnership is a great local charity looking for a volunteer to work as Assistant Treasurer supporting the financial operations of the charity. We provide practical and emotional support to refugees, asylum-seekers and other vulnerable migrants in our community. We have a pool of around 80 dedicated volunteers helping a caseload of around 150 individuals and families affected by immigration issues at any given time.
Treasurer role description
What will you do?
- complete an introduction for your role.
- maintain an awareness of how the Partnership operates.
- Maintain the accounting records of the Partnership to include the following:
- Arrange payment of all expenditure items through online banking and bank any income received by way of cash or cheque;
- Maintain a detailed record of all income and expenditure split between restricted and unrestricted and analysed under appropriate headings;
- reconcile the bank account at regular intervals but at least monthly;
- prepare the monthly payroll including all PAYE and NIC requirements;
- submit the monthly returns to HMRC and to the pension provider;
- maintain record of all gift aid donations and submit gift aid reclaim to HMRC at least twice a year;
- prepare regular management accounts for presentation to the trustee board; and
- prepare a simple budget each year.
- read papers for trustee meetings and attend each meeting.
- explain, guide and advise the trustees on the key assumptions and financial implications of the Partnership’s budgets, operational and strategic plans.
- ensure that the Partnership has an appropriate reserves policy and a realistic budget that meets the needs of the Partnership.
- ensure that annual accounts are prepared in compliance with SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice) Accounting for Charities and submitted by the deadline to the Charity Commission and make arrangements for them to be audited or independently examined as required.
- present accounts at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in an accessible way for volunteers and staff.
- keep the trustee board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities.
- monitor the Partnership’s income and expenditure position and present accessible reports to ensure trustees understand the accounts and implications.
- Ensure that the charity's financial integrity is sound.
- work together with other trustees and staff to further the strategic objectives of Partnership, including developing a fundraising strategy.
- take an active discussion during trustee meetings and work with other trustees to set policy and strategy direction, set targets and evaluate the performance of the Partnership.
What do you need to have?
You’ll need to:
- have some financial experience.
- some knowledge or experience of charity finances, fundraising, financial consequences and pension schemes.
- be non-judgmental and respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own.
- have good listening, verbal and written communication skills.
- be able to exercise good independent judgment and if necessary to make difficult recommendations.
- good numeracy skills.
- be able to explain complex financial information in an accessible way.
How much time do you need to give?
It is difficult to say how much time the role involves as the work fluctuates from month to month and during each month. However, on average we would anticipate an average of around 5 hours per week. In addition, the trustee board usually meets every other month in the evening. The role will be mostly remote however some meeting attendance is required.

Fundraising Volunteers
Watford and Three Rivers Refugee Partnership are looking to recruit volunteers who are able to fundraise creatively in the local community and with businesses to support our charity.
Our aims
We offer practical and emotional support to asylum seekers and refugees in Watford and Three Rivers. Many of our clients are destitute, homeless and have no access to assistance from the government. Our mission is to provide access to advice and essential services until statutory services are in place.
Our needs
The Refugee Partnership is a volunteer-led organisation with a growing client base. We also continually need funds to support us in providing food vouchers for our clients as well as assisting clients in their basic living needs and the increasing cost of legal fees.
What we are looking for
We would like to establish a fundraising group of volunteers who will focus on promoting fundraising opportunities for the WTRRP. It would be helpful but not necessary if you have some of the following skills;
- experience of organising events or an interest in doing this
- being able to work as part of a team
- experience of using social media to generate interest in fundraising
- ability to promote what we do by giving talks within the community
- experience of completing fundraising applications
- an interest in organising traditional fundraising events such as bake sales, collections etc.

About the Board
Our Board is youth-led and this round of appointments is only available to applicants aged between 16 and 25 years old.
Trustees are accountable for the proper and effective operation of the charity, giving strategic direction to the Chief Executive and the charity’s leadership team, ensuring the financial health and good financial management of the organisation, ensuring that the charity has sufficient funds to support its activities, and protecting the charity's reputation and independence.
We now have a number of trustee vacancies we wish to fill, to complement our existing Board and guide our successful and growing organisation into the next phase of development. We are therefore seeking someone who:

The Registration Advisory Panel are therefore seeking an Independent Regulatory/Practice member of this panel. The Registration Advisory Panel are responsible for strategic oversight of the Wider Psychological Workforce Register and reports directly to the Board of Trustees with the following role and remit:
1. Provide assurance that competency, safe practice and high standards are maintained for the Wider Psychological Workforce Register and that the register continues to fulfil its objective of public protection
2. Ensure that voluntary register functions are carried out fairly, effectively, proportionately and transparently and in line with the standards set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA)
3. Engage with relevant stakeholders and work in partnership with other bodies where appropriate to ensure registrants continue to meet the required standards for entry and maintenance on the Wider Psychological Workforce Register
The panel aims to hold the society to account against standards set by the PSA and its own policies on areas such as complaints, register developments, audit and accountability and reporting.
Members of the panel as representatives of the wider psychological workforce will:
Possess significant knowledge and understanding of at least one of the roles on the register including the services they operate in and the scope of practice of the role:
- Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner
- Children's Wellbeing Practitioner
- Education Mental Health Practitioner
- Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology (Scotland)

4. Be an accountable professional responsible for your own professional actions and adherence to professional codes of practice.
