- Young people under 25 interested in developing leadership skills.

- 90% of our youth theatre participants are from diverse ethnic backgrounds and a high proportion experience economic disadvantage, we know of 115 regular participants who access Free School Meals.

- We work with over 60’s including those experiencing long term illness
- Knowledge about education, we are keen to engage someone with knowledge of Secondary Education and/or academic connections with a relevant University
- Experience of managing a similar size organisation or team

If you have never written professionally before, then don't worry: all we ask for is a Bachelor’s Degree in the Arts and Humanities. We are also happy to consider you if you have alternative qualifications — provided you can demonstrate specialist subject matter knowledge in one or more areas in the arts and culture (and you love reading). The articles we produce (unlike popular media) are to the best academic standards. The ideal person, therefore, should enjoy writing articles that are well-researched yet written in an accessible format suitable for the public at large.

What is the Access Advisory Group?
We want to be able to share the Royal Air Force (RAF) story with everyone, including those living with all kinds of disability, visible or hidden. Our Access Advisory Group is a group of volunteers who meet to support and advise the RAF Museum to ensure access for all. Examples of previous areas of group input include new exhibitions to commemorate the centenary of the RAF and the access information available on our website.
What will I be doing?

Next year marks the centenary of the establishment of the Powell-Cotton Trust; it is an opportunity to embed good practice and sector leadership that enable us to secure the success of the next 100+ years of the Trust.
What will you be doing?
The Powell-Cotton Trust (PCT) is looking to recruit a new trustee with a finance specialism, in particular, who has experience and understanding of property and/or investment management.
This is an exciting time to join the board to provide governance and leadership for the Trust during a transformative period. This began with our reopening for the 2025 season in February with the first instalment of a museum-wide renewal and interpretation project. The extensive collection of late 19th and early 20th century cultural items from East Africa, and religious artefacts from Ethiopia, have been presented to focus on the people and communities which created and used the objects. Until recent years, the galleries included object captions and text panels which reflected the interests, experiences, knowledge and perspectives of the Museum’s founder, Victorian explorer and hunter, Percy Powell-Cotton (1866-1940). Now, the galleries have been completely revitalised with fresh interpretation bringing to the fore the objects themselves, their significance, the stories of their original owners and the communities to which they belonged.
The revitalised displays are the first results of a long-term collaboration between the Trust and its newly formed Community Advisory Group, aiming to bring accuracy and sensitivity to the presentation of the collections, lives, cultures and beliefs of people in communities whose histories and traditions are centuries old.
Next year marks the centenary of the establishment of the Powell-Cotton Trust. While the history of the Museum opening to the public dates back earlier than this, the Trust wish to mark this occasion; it is an opportunity to reflect on the past, to learn from the collection and our communities, to embed good practice and sector leadership that enable us to secure the success of the next 100+ years of the Trust.
What are we looking for?
It is essential that trustees should:

The Board help the organisation achieve its vision to be an inclusive, engaging and collaborative centre of excellence enabling exploration of our world class collections and garden to deliver lifelong learning, research and social impact, locally, nationally and internationally.
To achieve this, we have 3 strategic aims that new Trustees will help support:
- Financial Sustainability & Governance; we are on the cusp of receiving a significant inheritance that assures our financial future. That said, we recognise that we can’t solely rely on this and must engage in actively growing our income from both fundraising and commercially based activities;
- Collection Sustainability & Estate Infrastructure; we must continue to build on the hard work we have already started both in preserving the collection as well as developing the gardens. There needs to be a long-term plan and investment in both, with significant new developments of a Collection, Learning and Research facility;
- Impact and Inclusion; we must continue to develop how we engage our audiences to ensure that we are relevant, available and inclusive to all, raising awareness of the Trust’s existence, and evaluating the impact we have on our visitors. We must utilise technology to the fullest extent to make us accessible locally, nationally and internationally.

Church House Westminster is the trading name of Church House Conference Centre Ltd and is renowned as one of London’s leading conference and event venues. A member of the prestigious Westminster Venue Collection, Church House Westminster attracts a wide variety of clients from both the corporate and public sectors. The venue can cater for meetings and events from 2 - 600 delegates.
Church House Westminster occupies the spaces used twice yearly by the General Synod of the Church of England. The building has an illustrious history, including the Second World War, when Parliament used it as an emergency location for the House of Lords and the House of Commons. Following the war, the preparatory meetings for establishing the United Nations and the first meeting of the UN Security Council were held at Church House. Major national inquiries, including the Kings Cross fire and the Herald of Free Enterprise ferry sinking, were also held at Church House in the 1980s.
The Conference Centre was established in 1990 and is the wholly owned trading subsidiary of The Corporation of The Church House, a registered Royal Charter charity. All profits from Church House Westminster are covenanted back to the parent charity.
The Board of Directors, comprising executive and non-executive directors, is seeking an additional non-executive director with significant experience in marketing ideally within the events and hospitality industries. At this time, we are particularly looking for someone who can provide strategic insight into marketing, branding, and audience engagement to help grow Church House Westminster's profile and reach. Previous board experience is not necessary; however, executive director or similar high-level leadership is.
Role of the Non-Executive Director
As a Non-Executive Director of Church House Westminster, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the Conference Centre, ensuring it remains a leading venue in the events and hospitality sector. You will provide valuable independent oversight, helping to steer the business towards sustainable growth while maintaining its core values and charitable purpose. Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

What we are looking for:
· Interest in the museum, its historic collections and its ongoing story
· Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
· Ability to work as part of a dedicated team as well as individually
· Physically fit, able to work outdoors and on uneven/high surfaces
· DIY enthusiasts and/or skilled Craftspeople (Carpenters, Plumbers, Electricians, Blacksmiths, Builders…)
· Good understanding of relevant health and safety issues

As part of our new strategy, we are looking to invite people with some or all of the following strategic NHS/Commissioning skills on to our Board of Trustees.
- Significant & strategic understanding of integrated care boards (ICBs),
- Understanding of the NHS funding landscape e.g. commissioning and/or NHS Trusts , personal health budgets

Purpose of Role
Under the direction of the Team of Shop Volunteers and the Volunteer Officer there are several tasks that are carried out:
· To help ensure that visitors to Milton Keynes Museum enjoy an excellent visitor experience by providing good customer service at all times
· To keep the Museum Shop well stocked and tidy, creating a pleasant retail experience for visitors
Key elements
After relevant training has been provided:
· Give a warm welcome to Museum visitors and act as first point of contact for enquiries of all nature from visitors
· Serve visitors both on admission and retail: use a till and handle cash
· Orientate visitors on entry
· Keep the Museum Shop well stocked and tidy: restocking shelves, maintaining leaflet carousel, labelling products and cleaning the area
· Maintain Health and Safety standards and follow the procedure for reporting incidents

This front of house role is for you if you are interested in historic artefacts, have great interpersonal skills and are a good communicator.
Purpose of Role
Under the direction of the Team of Room Guides and the Volunteer Officer there are several tasks that are carried out:
· To help ensure that visitors to Milton Keynes Museum enjoy an excellent visitor experience by providing good customer service at all times
· To be an ambassador of Milton Keynes Museum by informing visitors about the Museum and the collection
Key elements
After relevant training has been provided:
· Present, instruct and inform visitors and the general public about the Museum and collection
· Operate Museum artefacts and assist and instruct visitors when handling collection items
· Act as first point of contact for enquiries of all nature from visitors
· Ensure the security of the collections and buildings and monitor the functioning of exhibitions, reporting all breakdowns / inactive exhibits
· Keep the Museum clean and tidy
· Ensure the safety of Museum visitors
· Maintain Health and Safety standards and follow the procedure for reporting incidents
· Provide guided tours around the Museum
