We are looking for someone to support our small Communications & Marketing team with content and communications activity, as well as some marketing initiatives.

Develop and implement effective content and communications to engage and grow Mast Cell Action’s impact across the UK. Main responsibilities include management of website content, design and development of social media content and plans, as well as executing corporate communication strategy.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Support delivery of our communications strategy, with focus on digital communications, content and community events.

Social media management and planning, including content creation (which must include video and design)

Administer and manage the creation and publishing of relevant, original, high-quality content (for all channels and member communications)

Assist in the development and deployment of the communications & marketing strategy

Undertake innovative marketing of events, with a focus on delegates and sponsors/advertisers

Planning, writing and coordinating of corporate communications, including Mast Cell Action's website and e-newsletters

Assist in the planning and execution of media relations and public affairs

Prepare accurate reports on overall performance across all of our key channels

Oily Cart are looking for new Trustees and a Chair to join our Board, to champion, support and guide us on our mission to create ambitious and high-quality Sensory Theatre that all babies, children and young people can enjoy.

Military Wives Choirs connect over 1700 women in the military community and create a support network through the power of singing.  Our Data and Technology Trustee will contribute strategic advice on how MWC manage their technology and data to be compliant, minimise risks to the organisation and to keep up to date with, and take advantage of, developments in a way that recognises the budget and the scale of the organisation.  Working closely with the Choir Support Team, they will support the long-term sustainability of the charity by providing strategic direction for their data and technology assets and initiatives.  The Trustee will have experience in a broad range of technology leadership roles, understanding of IT procurement, an ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels and able to advise the Board on how it could make ethical use of AI with appropriate safeguards.  The Trustee will attend four Board meetings a year - three are virtual and one, usually in the autumn, is in person.  They will also be required to attend a Board Awayday in January each year, usually in London and attend a Governance Committee meeting, virtually, each quarter.  For further information and how to apply, please read the information pack attached.  The deadline for applications is Friday 22 August.  Interviews will take place via Teams in the w/c 1 September.

We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Treasurer to join Treasurer to join our governing Council and oversee the financial health of the Friends organisation.

This voluntary role involves leading on the financial affairs of the charity, ensuring they are conducted within the legal, accounting and good practice conventions.

You don’t have to be a chartered accountant, but experience in finance, managing charity budgets, accounts, or day-to-day finance would be valuable.

The Treasurer ensures that appropriate financial measures, controls and procedures are in place; and reports to the Council of Trustees about the financial health of the organisation. They work in partnership with the Chairperson and fellow trustees to ensure the financial viability, ongoing development and long-term strategy of the charity.

As a key member of the Engagement Team working at Youth & Community Centres in Ealing and West London, this post will work alongside the Sound Engineer, Film Director or both to deliver Song-writing / music recording workshops and Acting for Film Workshops repectively, for young people aged 14-25.

Role Overview

We are looking to appoint someone with relevant experience to act as Company Secretary to the Board of Trustees of WPF as well as sit on the Audit Committee.  In addition to support the role of CEO of the organisation in terms of corporate governance and best practices of the charity.

We are seeking an individual who is committed and passionate about heritage and the positive impact it can have on communities.

Skills and knowledge.

Experience of running or advising a commercial /quasi-commercial organisation or a charity is essential; as is an ability to cope with financial accounts and projections and strong knowledge of corporate governance.  Knowledge of charity law and procedure is not essential, but would be helpful.

A legal background will be useful, in terms of fulfilling the role of Company Secretary, closely monitoring ongoing developments in collaboration with the Chairman and the Chief Executive, all the while providing informed advice as needed.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, accompanied by a readiness to engage in constructive and collaborative decision-making is essential.

We would welcome guidance on various governance issues, which encompass key areas. 

-      Offering support and direction to the Chair of the Board, the Chief Executive Officer, and the Chair of the Audit Committee regarding their governance responsibilities, in alignment with established policies and best practices. Special care is taken in reviewing meeting minutes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the records.

- Advising on procedural matters, including the delegation of powers

- Hearing rare appeals related to dismissals or other employment claims

Commitment

The role of Company Secretary is voluntary but the postholder will receive an annual honorarium of £7k. Travel expenses for attending meetings can be covered if necessary. Active participation in this Committee is essential for strategic planning and related activities.

Volunteer Sunday Admissions Assistant

You'll be multitasking throughout the day, with a mix of responsibilities including customer service, ticket sales, promoting Gift Aid donations, shop duties, guiding visitors and providing information about the Museum and the collection. If you enjoy a fast-paced environment and love engaging with people, this is the role for you. 

The Volunteer Admissions Assistant role is all about making a lasting impression and creating a memorable visitor experience. You’ll be:

• Welcoming and engaging with visitors, sharing information about the museum and its collection.
• Selling tickets and gift shop items, ensuring smooth transactions and great customer service.
• Collecting data for Gift Aid and marketing purposes, including how visitors found out about us.
• Creating positive experiences to encourage return visits and word-of-mouth recommendations.
• Helping visitors explore the Museum through interpretation, answering questions and distributing trails, accessibility and family activities.
• Maintaining the gift shop, including restocking, counting stock, and setting up attractive displays.
• Conducting online research and building contact lists to support marketing efforts.
• Promoting the Museum locally, raising awareness and encouraging more visitors to discover what we have to offer!

Who we’re looking for:

We’d like to extend an invitation to anyone, particularly members of the local community.  Full training will be provided, we are looking for anyone with:

This role offers plenty of variety, and you'll play an important part in making every visitor's experience unforgettable.

Training and support:

All volunteers will first be invited for a trial shift.  We have an induction and training process, during which we give volunteers the information they need to enjoy their time with us. Training is mainly 'on the job', supported by an experienced volunteer as well as the manager on duty. Volunteers are given regular feedback and we remain open to suggestions on how we can improve the volunteer experience. The Admissions Assistant receives continued training and development throughout their time with us.

Availability:

We are looking for Sunday volunteers to support our reopening.  We are looking for volunteers who would ideally like to donate 2-4 shifts per month, as a 11am-2pm shift, a 2pm-5pm shift, or a full day, for a minimum of 3 months. Ideally you will be able to start immediately, although this is not essential. Travel expenses up to £5 will be paid, with up to an additional £5 for lunch expenses if you are on a full day shift.

Please note: Applicants from some overseas countries are required to have a relevant work permit or student visa to volunteer in the U.K. We’ll need to see this for our records before volunteering can commence.

The International Council of Museums in the United Kingdom (ICOM UK) is seeking a new trustee with strong financial acumen and a passion for the museums and heritage sector and working internationally to be the Finance Lead on our Board. This is a strategic finance role to support the Strategic Director and advise the Board of Trustees in respect of the conduct of the charity’s financial affairs.  

The role requires experience and skills in financial planning and management, preferably in a charity and/or company, along with the ability to understand and communicate the impact of decisions on the organisation’s finances.

We are also seeking a trustee with a strong commercial background, particularly in the visitor experience sector, with financial acumen and senior experience in either a commercial or charitable setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain strategic oversight of Wonderseekers' commercial performance, especially at our visitor centre in Winchester
• Advise the Board on commercial matters and support the COO in long-term growth planning
• Lead or support on commercial risk management
• Serve as a director and Chair of our trading subsidiary, Sparking Curiosity Limited

Trustee Arrangements

• Board size: Up to 12 trustees
• Term: Up to three terms of three years each
• Meetings: Quarterly Board meetings (in person), up to four committee meetings per year (online)
• Strategy Day: Annual planning day in September
• Time commitment: Board/committee meetings, preparation, informal engagement, and key events
• Support: Induction, ongoing training, and reasonable expenses covered

Created in 1984, Taunton Sinfonietta Chamber Orchestra is seeking a new Chair of Trustees to help lead us into an exciting new phase.

We are a friendly and well-regarded chamber orchestra based in Somerset. We’re looking for someone with a passion for music and the performing arts, and an interest in helping a small charity to thrive.

You don’t need to be a musician — but it might help! Experience in leadership, charity governance, fundraising, finance, or community engagement would be very welcome.

What’s involved?

·Helping to shape the future direction of the orchestra

·Acting as an advocate for the orchestra in the community
