Borough Market is London’s oldest food Market. It was established on the south bank of the Thames around 1,000 years ago and has occupied its present site for over 250 years. Borough Market was formally registered as a charity (076940) in the Charity Commission’s records on 6th August 1999.
Its main charitable purpose is “the provision of a market as a public amenity for the benefit of the public”. In delivering our charitable objectives and strategy, the trustees of Borough Market are required to manage the Trust’s investments efficiently and to bring about the regeneration and refurbishment of the Market and its estate. Trustees need to act as a ‘critical friend’, providing vital checks and balances, and be committed to supporting the Market in its ambition to be the best in the world.
We are delighted to be advertising for a new trustee to boost a balanced Board that reflects our activities and the community in which the Market operates. We are particularly keen to recruit an individual who has knowledge of and experience in the food industry, food supply chain sustainability and food policy.
We want people who can demonstrate real enthusiasm and love of the Market, and a desire to make a difference and give back to the community.
We particularly welcome applications from people with a strong connection to the local area of Southwark, whether through residence, work, volunteering or community involvement. Preference will be given to candidates who live within the local area or have lived in the local area in the past.
We want a Board that is representative of our local community, so we encourage applications from candidates from traditionally underrepresented groups who have the right level of skills and experience including lived experience but not necessarily at Board level.

• Review and approve WCC’s financial reports and statements

• Support the Finance Manager in ensuring trustees understand financial reports as it is a group responsibility of all trustees to understand and agree with the financial affairs of the charity

Fundraising Trustee- One Role
You will have the opportunity to use your fundraising skills and experience to support us in building fundraising plans and strategy, and to educate other trustees about this area. Your expertise in fundraising and communications will help us open up new funding streams and opportunities for growth, helping us to have an even greater impact on the lives of Londoners struggling with mental health difficulties and trauma.
We are looking for someone with skills and experience in charity fundraising or communications, including areas such as Trusts and Foundation funding, the National Lottery, community/corporate fundraising and individual giving. Ideally we are looking for someone with understanding of the fundraising challenges facing smaller charities.
Duties of a fundraising trustee:
• Support and provide advice on WCC’s purpose, vision, goals, and activities
• Oversee WCC’s fundraising plans and work with the CEO to monitor and evaluate progress
• Supporting the delivery of a realistic but ambitious funding pipeline
• Work with the CEO to identify new funding opportunities and income streams, and build new relationships

WMDAS is a charity, part funded by the Welsh Government and is accredited by Driving Mobility. Referrals are accepted from individuals, DVLA, Motability and numerous other organisations. Our purpose is to offer disabled drivers and passengers of all ages specialist advice and assessments to find solutions for their outdoor mobility.
We are looking for people who may be considering taking their first step in a trustee role or may have been involved with trusteeship previously. This role will be supporting two lovely gentlemen living in Twickenham who would love a visitor to spend some time with them. They both enjoy exploring their local high street charity shops and going for a drink and a sausage roll in Greggs. When at home, one man enjoys relaxing in front of the telly and the other enjoys listening to his record and cassette collection.
Living in the same home, we’d ideally like one volunteer to visit both gentlemen. For one of the men, their speech might take some patience to understand, and the other prefers to communicate with gestures and pictures, so a friendly and understanding approach is key. It would be up to you whether you do both visits on the same day or on alternate months.
Access to a car would be a great addition but is not essential for this role as the house is very near to both bus and train routes.
We offer a lifelong befriending service for adults with learning disabilities. Matching the skills and interests of passionate visitors with the specific hobbies and interests of the people we visit. Visitors visit six times a year to create a 1-2-1 connection, offer companionship, encourage people to do the things they enjoy and check-in on their wellbeing. In many cases, the visitor is the only person in someone’s life who isn’t paid to be there for them.

This is an Out and about visit role which means your visits are likely to be longer, very active and the person you visit will often take an active part in planning your outings and activities in the community. Your volunteer manager will be happy to help you with ideas and suggestions for things you can do. Visits will vary in length but tends to be around a couple of hours, sometimes shorter or longer, depending on what you plan to do.
In this role you will spend quality time with the person you visit and could do a range of different activities like:
- Sitting and having a chat
- Checking in on their well- being
- Going out to a local café/pub for a meal/drink

A Trustee will bring an individual area of expertise to benefit our organisation. Bethphage is a values-based charitable business, supporting some of the most vulnerable people in the community. The charity also needs to make a modest financial surplus to remain viable. The role of a Trustee is to be a critical friend to the management team, lending expertise and experience to help guide the organisation in achieving its aims and sometimes competing objectives. Some of our board members have been a part of Bethphage for many years, you will be joining a supportive, friendly, and collegiate team that will help you develop and grow your role as a Trustee. Trustees generally thoroughly enjoy the role and find that it is a very rewarding experience. The Trustees work on a voluntary capacity for the benefit of the charity, this usually equates to one day per month. All Trustees are requested to undergo a DBS check (Disclosure & Barring service). No Panic is a national charity, supporting people with a variety of anxiety issues, including panic attacks, OCD, agoraphobia and health anxiety. We provide self-help advice over our helpline and additional services including CBT-Focused Mentoring, Extra Listening and Anxiety Support Chat.

Role Overview – Treasurer (Volunteer Position)
We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer Treasurer to oversee the financial health of Children with Voices and help strengthen our financial systems. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in a grassroots charity working to empower children and families. Time commitment: Approximately 10–15 hours per month, flexible around your availability. Location: Remote with occasional in-person meetings (London-based preferred but not essential).
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee the financial affairs of Children with Voices, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
· Ensure accurate financial records are maintained and effective financial procedures are in place.
· Monitor and report regularly on the organisation’s financial position.
· Prepare financial reports, budgets, cash flow statements, and annual accounts in collaboration with the Chair and Trustees.
· Lead on financial planning and advise the committee on the financial viability of proposals, plans, and fundraising initiatives.
· Report key financial information to trustees and support them in understanding financial obligations.
· Support the organisation with budgeting, funding applications, and ensuring value for money.
· Ensure sound internal controls, including processes for:
· - Authorisation of spending and purchasing systems
· - Managing cash flow and petty cash
· - Payment of staff or volunteer expenses (if applicable)
· - Bank reconciliation and cheque signatories
Person Specification – Ideal Qualities
· Experience in financial management, bookkeeping, or accountancy (formal qualifications desirable but not essential).
· Understanding of charity finance and relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
· Knowledge of fundraising, grant reporting, and managing budgets in voluntary/community settings.
· Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
· Commitment to the values and mission of Children with Voices.
· Organised, reliable, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively with trustees and volunteers.
