Amy’s Place is a partnership between the Amy Winehouse Foundation and Clarion Housing, providing supported living accommodation for young women aged 18-30 in recovery from drugs, alcohol and other addictive behaviors.
With training in alternative therapies such as Reiki and Sound Healing, you will support young women to improve their physical and emotional well-being in a group setting or on an individual basis.
Activities
- Delivering Sound Healing sessions in a 1-2-1 or group basis.
- Providing a safe, relaxing, therapeutic environment for the activity to take place.
Experience and requirements:
- Suitable candidates need to be qualified or nearing the end of a substantial training.
- Volunteers may be asked to have professional liability insurance.
- This role will require us to carry out an enhanced check through the disclosure and barring service.
Commitment
Commitment can be flexible to suit your availability, from about 1-2 hours per week. Ideally this volunteer will commit to a minimum of 3 months

What will you be doing?
We are looking for people to join our board of trustees to help take Cheltenham Almshouses and Aid forward. We would particularly welcome those with experience of building maintenance and development of new properties, health and safety, finance and investment, risk control, social care and marketing.
Many of the properties we own are of older stock and there is a constant challenge to keep the buildings well maintained and up to standard, in line with health and safety requirements whilst providing comfortable and affordable living.
We have recently built four new wonderful apartments within a conservation area and may possibly in the future look at extending our current stock of properties with more new builds.
We have a healthy balance sheet and would look to new trustees to guide the charity with new investment opportunities.
At present we have little presence on social media and would welcome a trustee on board who could help us in this field and ultimately give us the presence we so need. By maintaining a wait list this reduces the risk of void apartments and subsequent decrease in income.
We provide housing to many people who are working but cannot afford the market rents, for those retired who want to live in well maintained, peaceful communities. Some of our beneficiaries may need help with more personal matters such as benefit applications, liaising with social services, the clerk will deal with these aspects directly but additional knowledge of areas such as benefits and pensions would be immensely valuable to our beneficiaries, some of whom may not have any family members nearby to support them.

We are looking for a talented filmaker to work alongside the activity co-ordinator to create a short film with the residents of a homeless hostel in Westminster.
Last year the residents engaged in a photography project, which culminated in an exhibition. It would be exciting this year to create a film which they are part of creating.
We have four DSLR cameras which are of good qaulity, and we can use these to create the film. We also have some other bits of equipment which we can use.
You will be fully supported in this role, and work alongside the activity co-ordiantor, and we can also cover travel costs.

We are looking for a friendly and experienced painter and decorator, to work with residents at a homeless hostel in London.
The role would consist of working with residents to teach and help them to paint areas of the hostel, this would be a fantastic and empowering role, which would offer some of the clients an oppotunity to learn a skill, or use they skills they already have to do something positive in there surrondings.
We will be able to provide all the equipment for painting, and can also cover travel costs. You will also be fully supported by staff, and work alongside them in this position.

We are looking for dedicated Outreach Volunteers in the London Boroughs of Kingston, Richmond and Wandsworth. We would particularly like to hear from you if you live in or near the above boroughs.
The Outreach teams encounter people on their first steps from homelessness to independence – providing pathways and support to assist people off the streets.
We work with people who are rough sleeping and we do shifts late at night, and early in the morning, to find these individuals. SPEAR then works with people on a housing pathway and assists them to link into various support services, tailored to the challenges an individual might face.
SPEAR is looking for self-motivated, outgoing, and empathic people who could volunteer to provide support to vulnerably housed, rough sleepers, or anyone using homelessness services in the London boroughs of Richmond, Wandsworth and Kingston.
The volunteer will enjoy developing positive relationships with new people and will be willing to work outside of their own comfort zone providing support and assistance to the Outreach Teams clients. The volunteer must have an enhanced DBS background check (SPEAR will apply for this on your behalf.)

As an Outreach volunteer you will be assisting outreach workers to support Romanes or Romanian speaking clients face-to-face or over the phone. Other tasks involved in this role will include helping clients access support around immigration, employment, reconnections, and accommodation, to have a good understanding of the Roma communities and have knowledge of the UK EUSS requirements while understanding the rights clients have with pre settled statues and settled statues. For this role it is required that you can speak Romanes or Romanian fluently or to a high level.
In this role, you will be supporting us with some or all of the following tasks:
• Assisting outreach workers to support Romanes or Romanian speaking clients face to-face or over the phone.
• Engaging with rough sleepers who have been referred via StreetLink and those known to the team, supporting the key worker with general assessments
• Helping clients access support around immigration, employment and reconnections and accommodation.
• Working together with the outreach worker and divide tasks where appropriate, such as accompanying clients to appointments
• Supporting outreach workers with navigation and note taking.
• Engaging with rough sleeping clients with sensitivity and respect.
• Adhering to St Mungo’s Policies and Procedures at all times.
• Promoting St Mungo’s work in an appropriate manner.

We are looking for a friendly barber/haidresser to cut hair once or twice a month in a hostel in Westmintser. The hostel is part of the chairty Single homeless project, where we support people out of the homelessness pathway, into indpendnece and better wellbeing.
When the resident has a haircut as with anyone it can make such a difference to how someone feels about themselves, if you have your own barber tools and are willing to come and cut a few gentlmens hair once or twice a month, it could make such a positive difference for some of the residents, and make them feel better about themselves.

About Zetetick Housing Charity

The Quality of Life Foundation
The Quality of Life Foundation was established in 2019 by Prof. Sadie Morgan OBE. Its vision is for a housing system that improves people’s quality of life in their homes and neighbourhoods over the long term.
Our activities include research, thought leadership, training and strategy development, based on the organisation's Quality of Life Framework. Working with organisations in the public, private and third sectors, we are instigating practical projects to support more long-term thinking in industry and government. We are a small but influential organisation and have ambitious plans for growth over the coming years.
We were formally registered as a charity in 2022 and operate a wholly-owned commercial trading subsidiary.
The Role
The role of the Trustees is to set the organisation’s strategic direction, monitor the delivery of its objectives, and uphold its values and governance. The board will also guide, advise and support the Chair, who leads the delivery team towards achieving the Foundation’s vision and purpose.
For this role, we are specifically looking for someone with a finance background and existing or previous experience in charity finance and governance to work with existing trustees to oversee the financial matters of the charity in line with good practice and the legal obligations of the Charities Act.
The appointed trustee will sit on the Finance, Governance and Risk sub-committee and work with the Foundation’s Director and other trustees to update the board at regular intervals about the financial position of the Quality of Life Foundation and its trading subsidiary, QOLF Trading Ltd. NB all trustees are jointly and severally responsible for the administration of the charity.
Key responsibilities of the trustee include:
General

Overseeing the creation and implementation of the Quality of Life Foundation’s strategy and business plan.

Ensuring that the Foundation complies with all legal, regulatory and charitable requirements.

Ensuring that the Foundation’s governance and performance is of the highest possible standard.

Representing the Foundation at external events and sharing its aims and achievements with a wide variety of stakeholders to further establish its profile.

Financial

Supporting the Director and board to oversee the financial matters of the charity, and to ensure appropriate presentation of budgets, accounts, management accounts and financial statements.

Ensuring that financial resources are spent in accordance with the Charity’s objectives, good governance, legal and regulatory requirements.
Main duties:
In addition to the general duties of a trustee, your time will be spent:

Liaising with the Director and/or Business Manager and supporting on financial matters.

Supporting the board to monitor the financial viability of the Quality of Life Foundation and its trading subsidiary, QOLF Trading Ltd.

Creating, in conjunction with relevant senior staff, a set of sound financial processes and procedures for the control of the charity’s assets.

Reviewing the annual accounts and, where applicable, liaising with the Foundation’s external accountants to ensure the accounts are compliant with the current Charities’ statement of recommended practice (SORP).
