Mind In Enfield and Barnet combines over 50 years of experience to improve peoples mental health in Enfield, Barnet and beyond. We are led by lived experience and driven by a passion to support and protect people’s mental health in ways that they want.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Volunteer Meet and Greet to support the Therapy Team at Mind in Enfield and Barnet (MiEB). This role involves sitting at the reception desk and acting as a first point of contact, helping to create a friendly, welcoming and supportive environment for clients, visitors and staff. You will offer clear directional guidance, practical assistance and information about services and activities, helping people feel safe, comfortable and supported when they arrive. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with others and contributing to a positive, inclusive space for individuals accessing mental health services.
Key Responsibilities:
Help create a friendly and inclusive environment by greeting clients and visitors in a warm and professional manner
Cover the reception desk and act as a first point of contact for enquiries
Provide clear directional guidance and escort individuals to their destination where appropriate
Ensure clients, visitors and staff sign in and out accurately
Maintain accurate logs of calls and emails in line with service procedures
Help maintain a tidy, calm and welcoming reception and waiting area

This is a part-time, volunteer (unpaid) role with flexible hours ranging from a minimum of 1 day (3–5 hours) up to 20 hours per week. Hours can be scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 10:00am and 3:00pm. Please see the attached document for further details.

What You’ll Do
As a Meet & Greet Volunteer, you’ll be a friendly first point of contact at our day centre, helping to create a safe, welcoming and well-supported environment for people living with dementia, their families, and visitors.
You will:
· Welcome clients, visitors, and family members as they arrive
· Help maintain a safe environment by being present and aware of who is entering and leaving the centre
· Gently support clients to remain within safe areas if needed
· Provide information, leaflets, or signposting to visitors
· Work alongside staff to ensure the day runs smoothly

1. Assistant facilitation at Young Garrick Youth Theatre sessions in Lichfield OR Burntwood, including helping to set up and clear away spaces, following risk assessments to ensure a safe and welcoming environment
2. Assist with as ‘meet and greet’ for participants, parents/carers, and visitors
3. Support the Youth Theatre Leaders and team with the delivery, administration, communication and positive culture of sessions
4. Assist with gathering and setting out of materials/resources (costumes, props, workshop materials)
5. Providing up to date knowledge of the community programme and acting as a point of call for questions during sessions
6. Support facilitators in providing a safe and welcoming environment and responding to safeguarding concerns in sessions
7. Provide additional help for participants who require extra support.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Attending volunteer training sessions as required
2. Adhering to all Lichfield Garrick Theatre policies & procedures.
3. Contributing to effective Health & Safety management across the organisation.
You will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check for this role.
LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

The successful candidate must be 18+.
Young Garrick Lichfield sessions run every Sunday in term time from 10am-5.30pm. Young Garrick Burntwood runs every Tuesday in term time from 6.30pm-9pm.
The placement length is flexible, for a minimum of one term and maximum of one academic year (ending July 2027).
The role is ideal for a person looking to gain experience and starting a career in the arts specifically with young people and communities. This could be as a facilitator, practitioner, or administrator/project leader.
There is no experience necessary.
