We are a very small, registered charity (number 1164078) who are looking to maintain and grow our current service offering.
We provide counselling support, for children and young people who would not normally have access to the help they need by offering funded counselling to children and young people within 35 local, surrey-based schools on a bi termly basis. We usually offer a counsellor for 3 hours per week, although this can be more depending on need and the size of school, as well as the age group that the volunteer counsellors need experience in.
We offer some part funded counselling on a self-referral basis for those who do not have access within their school environment or for those above school age. We currently support approximately 45 children, young people and their caregivers on a weekly basis.
We are looking for another Student/Volunteer Counsellor to join our small passionate and perfectly formed team working in Surrey.
Role Description
You will provide at least 3 counselling sessions to 3 separate children and/or young people per week at one school per term. You will then move to another school to continue supporting children on a similar basis for another term. We ask for your commitment to this (as a minimum) for one academic year. You may commit to more if you can. The schools will be either based in and around Tadworth, or in and around the Byfleet/Woking area.
The Matthew Hackney Foundation will provide bi-weekly supervision with our counselling lead who is a qualified and accredited child and adult therapist.
The Matthew Hackney Foundation will provide you with professional support and training in accordance with BACP guidelines and best practice, specifically on topics that are relevant to working with children and young people.
You must read and adhere to all of our relevant policies, including safeguarding, confidentiality and information sharing.
This is a general outline of our volunteer counsellor role, please be aware that your duties and responsibilities may develop as your role grows and you may be required to undertake other relevant reasonable duties from time to time.
Key criteria required for the role;
Qualifications:
You will be a fully qualified Counsellor, Therapist or Educational/Clinical Psychologist or studying towards one of these professions at the following levels:
Diploma or degree in Counselling (minimum of Level 4 or above). You will need to have achieved your certificate of competence to practice or be working towards this. You must also have completed your NCFE levels 1 – 3 in counselling skills (or the equivalent).
Degree, MSc or MA in Counselling, Counselling Psychology or Psychotherapy - if you are in your first year you will have relevant experience of direct work with children.
Experience:
Counselling training must have, or have had, a therapeutic and personal development component rather than being purely theoretical or research based (as with Distance Learning courses). Examples of this include: role play, creative work with art, TRIAD techniques.
Preferably will have experience of working with children aged 4 – 16 gained through volunteering, caring for children or through a background in a caring profession such as nursing, social work or as a health visitor.

Willingness to make a minimum commitment to practice in school one half day per week (term time only) for one academic year.

What are Serving Community Teams?
Volunteers are the lifeblood of SSAFA. SSAFA has developed Serving Community Teams for volunteers to support serving personnel their families in the UK and overseas.
A Serving Community Team is run by a small team of volunteers on or near a British Armed Forces base which provide emotional, practical and financial support to the serving community. Our volunteer Finance Coordinators are an integral part of the team. To enable volunteers to deliver their work in the community, the Finance Coordinator is the key to processing grants and volunteer expenses, as well as other tasks such as balancing the books.
Why we want you
There is a SSAFA presence throughout the serving community, both in the UK and overseas. In many areas SSAFA has Serving Community Teams (SCTs) which offer financial, practical, and emotional support to serving personnel and their families. Each team consists of a group of dedicated volunteers who make this possible. That’s where you come in; could you spare some time on a regular basis to ensure the SCT meets its financial obligations?
What you will be doing
- Reconciling the local SCT bank account and recording all transactions.
- Maintaining accurate records using SSAFA’s online financial management system.
- Working with the Chair around financial planning; advising on any financial implications of plans and overseeing the annual budget.
- Preparing year-end accounts, financial statements and contribute to the team’s Annual Return.
- Being an ambassador for SSAFA, building positive relationships with all stakeholders.

Trustees play a vital role in ensuring Wythenshawe Foodbank meets its core purpose by overseeing the management and administration of the charity and ensuring that the foodbank has a clear strategy in line with our vision and goals.
What will you be doing?
Wythenshawe Foodbank are part of the Trussell network. We employ two members of staff and have approximately 30 regular volunteers, in addition to volunteers from local organisations who support us at specific events such as food drives.
We are seeking two new trustees with an interest in helping others, who are willing to uphold the food bank’s values, and who can bring life experience to the board of trustees. Trustees have collective responsibility for the governance of the organisation and for all decisions made by the board. They set the strategic direction for the charity, ensuring alignment to its values, and are responsible for setting organisational policy, defining goals, agreeing the financial plan, evaluating performance, and ensuring that strong relationships are maintained between the trustees, staff, volunteers, and users of the charity’s services.
Key tasks

The Role
As a Flyer Distributor you will play a crucial role in helping to raise awareness about our services and events within the Enfield community. Overview of the role
Uttlesford Foodbank are seeking someone with financial experience to join the board as a trustee, who will be able to lead on financial matters, ensuring we meet our financial obligations and help us build a sound financial strategy as we move forward. This role involves leading on the financial affairs of the food bank and ensuring that they are conducted within the required legal, accounting, and good practice frameworks.
Responsibilities
As a trustee you will share collective responsibility for the governance of the food bank and all decisions made by the board, ensuring the organisation is well run, fulfils its mission, is compliant with charity law and that the charity is open and accountable. It is also the responsibility of the treasurer to work in partnership with the chairperson and other trustees to ensure the financial viability and development of the organisation.

Position Summary:
Leads end-to-end Talent Acquisition (TA) and Onboarding functions, driving strategies to attract, hire, and seamlessly integrate top talent. Manages Team Leaders for Talent Acquisition and Onboarding, ensuring alignment with workforce plans, compliance, and candidate/employee experience excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Talent Leadership

Recruitment Excellence

About FilmBath
FilmBath/ Bath Film Festival has been a key part of the city’s cultural life since 1990. Renowned for its commitment to diversity, innovation and inclusion in film, the festival celebrates stories from around the globe, champions underrepresented voices, and brings cinema to new audiences in unique and engaging ways.
In addition to the flagship annual festival, FilmBath strives to collaborate with other organisations and festivals for year-round events designed to bring cinema into new spaces and reach wider audiences. An example of this was the new Movie at the Museum strand, part of the Curious Minds festival, which creates unique screenings and experiences in collaboration with local heritage sites, museums and cultural venues.
The FilmBath Team
FilmBath is a registered charity with no permanent staff. The festival is led by a freelance Festival Director, who is responsible for shaping the creative vision and structure of the festival, managing budgets, and reporting to the Board of Trustees. The Director also builds and maintains key partnerships with film and arts organisations, venues and cinemas, and leads on marketing, audience development, and stakeholder engagement.
A volunteer programming committee works under the direction of the Director to select the films shown at the festival. This committee helps ensure the programme reflects FilmBath’s values while appealing to a wide and diverse audience.
Delivery of the festival is supported by a small number of freelance production and technical staff, contracted by the Director, and a team of dedicated volunteer stewards who provide vital support during festival events.
This lean, collaborative structure allows FilmBath to remain agile and sustainable, delivering high-quality programming while nurturing a strong sense of community.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Chair of the Board of Trustees to help shape FilmBath’s strategic future. This is an exciting opportunity to join at a critical point in our development, supporting the organisation’s ambition to grow sustainably while retaining its distinctive identity and values.
As Chair, you will work closely with the freelance Director and the Board to provide strategic leadership, champion fundraising efforts, and strengthen governance. With a lean delivery model, the Chair will play a visible and active role in helping to secure the long-term stability and impact of the organisation.
You’ll bring experience in business, fundraising and strategic planning to complement the Director’s creative and operational strengths, and have the enthusiasm to work collaboratively towards a shared vision.
FilmBath is at a pivotal moment in its development. Insights from a recent Strategy Day identified key priorities for the Board, including defining the festival’s cultural role within the local and national landscape, strengthening brand identity, and building long-term financial resilience through strategic fundraising and partnerships. The incoming Chair will be instrumental in supporting these developments, working closely with the Director to implement a clear, bold vision for the organisation’s future. The current chair of the board will be available to support handover to the incoming chair.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership to the Board of Trustees, ensuring the organisation fulfils its charitable purpose.
- Support the Director in shaping and delivering FilmBath’s long-term vision.
- Champion fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, sponsorship and bid development.
- Ensure good governance, financial oversight and compliance with charity law.
- Act as an ambassador for FilmBath within the cultural, business and philanthropic sectors.

Person Specification

Community researchers wanted to help East London Waterworks Park ensure our community-owned park is inclusive and welcoming for all.
East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces.
We are looking for community researchers specialised to contribute to our community-led working circle who are working on on a listening project to ensure often underrepresented voices in conservation and environmental projects are heard and centred.
There is opportunity to lead on projects and facilitate the direction of the working circle.
The Inclusivity Circle currently meets monthly on a Wednesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.

As a Volunteer Education Mentor, you'll join a dynamic team to deliver 8 mentoring sessions over 8 weeks aimed at building group rapport and covering essential topics like communication, goal setting and problem solving. About Access Academia
Access Academia is the charitable umbrella which was created out of the creation of the student-led publication, the Journal of Intersectional Social Justice. When Journal of Intersectional Social Justice (JISJ) was created, there were not any expectations for the project to be any more than that: a student-led academic publication. However, as it rolled on, attention for the project widened and it began to cover other topics and get involved in other realms of knowledge sharing, activism, and content creation. The creation of the seminal Access Series on the Intersections blog springboarded the idea for the JISJ to turn into something much more than a simple academic publication. Now as we have restructured the JISJ into Access Academia, we are finalising our official registration as a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) in the UK.
Our core purpose is to Make Academia More Accessible. We plan to accomplish this by many different avenues, as obviously it is a very wide-ranging goal! The main ways we plan to do this are through encouraging Open Access academia and knowledge sharing through the Access Series, expanding the themes covered on Intersections with additions such as Mental Health Mondays and Colonialism in Subject, creating accessible content across our social media platforms which encourages truthful and accurate knowledge sharing and activism, running research events to encourage students to publish and interact with academia, covering inside stories of academia, running student engagement programmes to try and make academia less of an Ivory Tower, and much more!
