What will you do?

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the Board sets Middlesex FA’s vision, mission, values, and standards and that its obligations to its stakeholders and others, including any funders, are understood and met.
- Promote good governance and ensure that Middlesex FA remains compliant with the highest tier of sports governance, as set by Sport England and UK Sport through the Code for Sport Governance and the FA through the Code of Governance for County FAs.
- Contribute to the effective governance of Middlesex FA through membership of committees or sub-groups. Ensure that the business of the Board is conducted efficiently and foster an inclusive environment where all Board members are given the opportunity to express their views.
- Lead the Board in the approval of the long-term financial plan and annual budget. Monitor the delivery of the strategic plan and objectives of the Association.
- Lead the annual review process of Board members, and take an active role in Board renewal, recruitment, and succession planning.
- Chair Board meetings effectively, ensuring that Directors receive accurate, timely and clear information and that adequate time is available for discussion and time is used productively.
- Oversee the production of Board paperwork including the development of the agenda and papers with the Chief Executive Officer.
- Ensure that the Board receives professional advice when it is needed from external sources. Is a visible and known presence to members of the Middlesex FA Council and can champion change initiatives with them.
- Conduct an annual appraisal of the Chief Executive Officer and their remuneration, and should the occasion arise ensure a new Chief Executive is recruited in line with Middlesex FA’s employment policies.

Safer and Supportive Salisbury (SaSS) is a small local charity with a big heart and a wide reach, leading a network of local people and organisations working together towards creating a safe, supportive and inclusive community for everyone who lives or works in the city and for all visitors to Salisbury and surrounding areas. Gingerbread is the charity for single parents. We challenge discrimination, and campaign against the inequalities single parents face. We are seeking a Treasurer to join our Board. What will you be doing?
Our Board combines their skills and experience to provide stewardship to Gingerbread and its staff.
The role of Treasurer is to enable the board to maintain an overview of Gingerbread’s affairs, ensure its financial viability and ensure that proper financial records and procedures are maintained.
Trustees generally meet for full Board meetings a minimum of five times a year. Each of these meetings is two hours long. Trustees would need to allow for preparation time ahead of these meetings. We estimate there would be 2 hours of work a month outside of Board meetings.
What are we looking for?
The Treasurer should have the following qualities:
· A commitment to Gingerbread’s work and mission
· Financial qualifications and experience
· Some experience of charity finance, fundraising and pension schemes
· The skills to analyse proposals and examine their financial consequences

Penair is a large progressive and innovative single academy trust secondary school wishing to develop an outstanding culture and provision. We are seeking a Chair of Trustees, with the knowledge and skills to support and help drive sustained improvement, to join Penair School from September 2025.
Penair is looking to recruit a Board Chair to succeed the current post holder who is retiring from the role after 10 years. We are interested in applicants with a range of skills and leadership experience. Experience in the education sector is not essential. The role’s focus is to oversee the following key functions of the Board:
· strategic leadership of the academy trust - the Board defines the trust vision for high quality and inclusive education in line with its charitable objects. It establishes and fosters the trust’s culture and sets and champions the trust strategy
· accountability and assurance - the Board must demonstrate robust effective oversight of the operations and performance of the school, including the provision of education, pupil welfare, overseeing and ensuring appropriate use of funding and effective financial performance and keeping its estate safe and well-maintained
· engagement - the Board has strategic oversight of relationships with stakeholders. As such, trustee governors must involve parents, schools and communities in a way that demonstrates decision-making is supported by meaningful engagement
· governance – trustees must apply the highest standards of conduct and ensure robust and effective governance arrangements are in place, critical for effective financial management
The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate a successful track record in delivering across these areas.
Penair is a ‘Good’ school, confirmed by Ofsted inspections in 2017 and again in March 2023 — with a steadily growing number of pupils on roll. Over the last five years it has grown from 915 to 1240 pupils. To accommodate demand for places, Cornwall Council has funded the building of a new £4 million teaching block and a dining hall expansion.

Hope Springs Health Foundation Uganda promotes community health equity among young people in underserved communities within Uganda
Hope Springs Health Foundation (HSH) Uganda addresses a range of pressing social and health challenges affecting vulnerable groups, particularly children, adolescents, and women in low-resource settings.
One of the core issues is the high HIV prevalence and teenage pregnancy in Mayuge District, where HIV rates are at 7% and teenage pregnancy stands at 27%, both higher than national averages. These challenges are often driven by transactional sex, early sexual debut, misinformation, and power imbalances in relationships particularly with older men. Adolescent girls face limited access to accurate sexual and reproductive health (SRH) information, increasing their vulnerability to exploitation and disease.
Another persistent challenge is menstrual hygiene management (MHM). Nearly half of Ugandan girls miss up to three days of school each month due to lack of menstrual products and adequate sanitation. This leads to increased absenteeism and school dropout rates, ultimately compromising their educational and economic futures.
Additionally, gender-based violence (GBV) remains widespread in Uganda, with women and girls disproportionately affected. Many communities lack the capacity to identify, report, and prevent GBV, leading to unreported cases and prolonged cycles of abuse.
For children living with chronic illnesses such as Type 1 Diabetes, limited awareness and lack of access to proper nutrition and physical activity pose serious health risks, especially in low-resource rural settings.
Hope Springs Health (HSH) Foundation responds to these intersecting challenges with innovative and community-centered health promotion interventions.
To combat HIV/AID and teenage pregnancies, HSH works with communities to implement UNICEF’s evidence-based intervention; “Sugar Daddy Awareness Classes” in schools. These sessions empower adolescent girls with knowledge about the dangers of cross-generational relationships and equip them to advocate among peers, promoting informed choices and reducing risky behaviors.
On the menstrual health front, HSH trains girls to make, use, and distribute reusable sanitary pads. This not only addresses a critical hygiene need but also provides a source of income and resilience for the girls. Environmentally, the use of reusable pads reduces plastic waste, contributing to greener communities. Socially, this empowers girls to stay in school, confident and informed.
To address gender-based violence (GBV), HSH conducts trainings targeting community stakeholders such as local leaders, religious leaders, police, health workers among others. These trainings strengthen the capacity of community members to detect, respond to, and prevent GBV through coordinated referral systems and advocacy.
For children with Type 1 Diabetes, the “Active Hearts, Healthy Lives” program supports them through community education on physical activity and nutrition. This program helps improve their quality of life by promoting healthier lifestyles in contexts where resources are scarce.
Fundraising Officer
Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)
Hope Springs Health Foundation Uganda (HSH) is seeking a proactive and reliable Volunteer Fundraising Officer to support our resource mobilization strategy. This is a great opportunity for a student or recent graduate in Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field to build hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, proposal writing, and donor relations. The Fundraising Officer will work directly with the CEO and programs team to develop compelling proposals, identify funding opportunities, manage donor outreach using tools like Sales Navigator, and maintain an organized and up-to-date funding database. The role requires excellent communication and time management skills, a high level of professionalism, and a commitment to confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities • Draft high-quality project proposals, concept notes, and funding applications tailored to donor requirements. • Use tools like Sales Navigator and other platforms to identify and connect with potential donors, meeting weekly outreach targets. • Maintain and regularly update a structured database of funding opportunities, donor contacts, deadlines, and communications.. • Collaborate with the communications team to develop professional fundraising and pitch materials. • Attend online fundraising webinars, donor briefings, and conferences to stay updated on trends and opportunities. • Assist in organizing donor records, tracking feedback, and filing proposal-related documentation. • Provide administrative and basic finance-related support (e.g., budget inputs, data entry).
Qualifications and Skills Education: • Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies, International Development, or a related field. • Master’s degree is a plus but not required. Skills & Competencies: • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Strong research and analytical skills. • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines independently. • High level of reliability and commitment to confidentiality. • Willingness to learn and use new fundraising tools and CRM/database systems. • Tech-savvy and comfortable attending online meetings, webinars, and virtual donor events. • Familiarity with donor landscapes (e.g., foundations, bilateral donors, UN agencies) is an advantage.

The Trustees of the RSPH demonstrate a commitment to public health and to using their specific skills, knowledge, and experience to help make collective sound decisions for the benefit of the charity. They are responsible for the governance of RSPH and for setting its vision and mission. The Trustees are responsible for ensuring financial probity and for the strategic direction of the RSPH. They are dedicated to working with the executive to support the objects of RSPH and to ensure that the organisation flourishes to improve and protect the public’s health.
Time Commitment
Every trustee is expected to participate in regular RSPH Council meetings (currently four per annum) and may be asked to serve on a sub-committee of the Council. Trustees may be asked to participate in the educational activities of the RSPH by supporting conferences, publications, external relations, or training programmes.
Opportunities will arise for Trustees to support senior staff in specific projects/initiatives. We would expect you to be able to be able to commit to 8-12 days per year.
Trustees are generally appointed for a three-year term which may be renewed once.

As well as the formal duties, Trustees have a key role both as expert advisers and as a 'critical friend' to the Executive Management Team. Therefore, in seeking to identify new Trustees, we are particularly looking to enhance our current range of skills and experience across the Council with Trustees with the following backgrounds:
- Policy/influencing
- Government relations
- Public affairs
Sub-Committees
RSPH Council has five sub-committees comprising, Audit & Risk, Qualifications Governance, Nominations and Governance, Public Health Workforce and Policy and Impact. We are looking for Trustees who would be able to commit to participation in one or more of these committees. We are especially interested in someone with the expertise to chair our Policy and Impact Committee.
Support from the RSPH
In return for this commitment, the charity will:
- Provide induction, training and support to enable trustees to carry out their role as effectively as possible.
- Give adequate notice of relevant dates and events.
- Provide reports and papers in advance of meetings.
- Respond to information requests and governance queries.
- Trustees at RSPH are unremunerated; however, reasonable expenses will be covered in accordance with our Expenses Policy.
