- Farrier – A qualified farrier, who is a leader in their field, using their knowledge and experience, supporting equine welfare to be the central part of RDAs way of delivering services.
- Equine Physiotherapist – A qualified equine physio, who is a leader in their field, using their knowledge and experience, supporting equine welfare to be the central part of RDAs way of delivering services.
- Equine Research – A leader in equine research ensuring RDA remains at the forefront of the latest best practise and welfare standards.
- Equine Welfare – An individual with clear experience in the field that will ensure equine welfare continues to be central to how we deliver our services.
- Physiotherapy – A human focused physio to help us ensure equine welfare remains central to RDA as part of delivering therapy through horses.
- Advanced Coach – A RDA coaching professional with advanced coaching qualifications to support the ongoing development of coaching knowledge of equine welfare. Preference for PRACA attendance.
Note: Some roles have the option to sit across multiple Boards.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer strategic insight and professional expertise to inform key decisions.
- Contribute actively to Advisory Board meetings (minimum twice per year).
- Provide guidance on best practice, innovation, and emerging opportunities.
- Support projects and collaborate between meetings as needed.
- Assist in the development of reports and recommendations for RDA UK Trustees.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience and leadership in a relevant industry.
- Specialist knowledge aligned with one of the Advisory Boards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Prior board or advisory experience (desirable, not essential).
- A genuine commitment to RDA’s mission and values.

Commitment
- Serve a 3-year term, renewable up to three times (maximum 9 years).
- Attend two Advisory Board meetings annually, with additional engagement as required.

About the role
The trustee will support the board, the CEO the Head of HR and wider senior team with advice, guidance and sharing their experiences specifically related to:
• Contributing to existing projects.

• Advising on Human Resources issues affecting Connection Support staff and volunteers.
• Assisting the tendering process for existing and new contracts.
• Guiding the board on addressing employee needs and advising on potential strategies that enable Connection Support to grow in the sector.
This is an exciting time to join Connection Support as we start our new three year strategy.
Time commitment
The anticipated time commitment for a Trustee is up to a day a month. Approximately 2-3 hours per month in person, and then 2-3 hours of supporting with projects which can be from home.
Trustee positions are not paid but travel and subsistence expenses are reimbursed.
About you

• Experience of UK employment law as an HR Professional at Manager or Director level.

Role Summary:
Roots Academy is seeking a Finance Lead (Canada) to oversee and manage the treasury functions of our growing non-profit organization. This role is essential in ensuring our financial health, transparency, and accountability.
Key tasks
- Oversee cash flow, budgeting, and fund allocation across departments and initiatives
- Manage banking relationships and ensure secure handling of donations and grants
- Maintain accurate records of income, expenses, and reconciliations

What are we looking for?
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience working with children, educators / teachers and parents in school settings
- A clear and visible passion for improving the health and wellbeing of children through nutrition and lifestyle
- Some formal training in working with children, for example as teacher, Head Teacher, teaching assistant, educationalist, health/sport coach
- Strong management and leadership experience and skills
- A natural ability to inspire others
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage projects effectively
- Articulate written, visual and verbal communicator - fluency in English is essential
- Experience and interest in working with authorities (ideal but not essential)
As a team of volunteers, we are ever so grateful to everyone who agrees to contribute some of their valuable time to the project. As a Team Leader we ask for a commitment of 5-6 hours per week (on average).

Key tasks

Actively establish and maintain positive relationships with the MSA/ISoc committees and Student Ambassadors to ensure an exceptional onsite experience for students and promote retention of sites

Be responsible for overseeing all onsite logistics through liaison with the Student Ambassador to ensure that onsite logistics including advertising of the class and other required tasks are taken care of by the MSA/ISoc

Be the point of contact for ISocs: answer questions from the MSA/ ISoc committees and Student Ambassadors to the best of your ability and engage them on a 1-1 basis, listen to their needs and concerns and addressing these accordingly

Collect ideas and best-practices from how different MSAs/ISocs are delivering their class

Participate in onboarding current and new sites prior to the start of the academic year

Position Summary:
As a Content Creator, you will play a vital role in visually narrating our journey, mission, and impact. You will be responsible for filming, photographing, editing, and producing engaging content for our website, social media, and marketing campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
Videography & Photography:

Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality videos and photos for digital platforms, events, and promotional materials.

Capture key moments at Roots Academy campuses, events, and student experiences.

Ensure all content aligns with Roots Academy’s brand identity, values, and messaging.
Editing & Production:

Edit videos and images using professional software

Add graphics, animations, subtitles, and effects to enhance storytelling.

Maintain a consistent visual style across all platforms.
Content Strategy & Social Media:

Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging visual content for social media, website, and digital campaigns.

Stay up-to-date with content trends, video styles, and social media best practices.

Suggest creative ideas for short-form (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) and long-form video content.
Project Management:

Organize and manage content shoots, including scheduling, locations, and logistics.

Maintain and manage photography and videography equipment, ensuring quality and readiness.

Some experience in digital marketing, social media, or event promotion.

Academy trustees are volunteers. The Charity Commission defines trustees as the people responsible for governing a charity and directing how it is managed and run.
The purpose of the board of trustees is to provide:
- Strategic leadership of the academy trust
- Your role is to help set and embed your trust’s vision and strategy, and use these to monitor how the trust and its schools are progressing towards your strategic goals
- Accountability and assurance, meaning the board has robust oversight of the operations and performance of the trust, including education, pupil welfare and finance
- You'll monitor these areas and hold trust leaders to account for performance and compliance in them
- Engagement
- This means your board has strategic oversight of relationships with the trust's stakeholders: parents, pupils, staff, local communities
- You'll make sure your schools and your trust are communicating with and involving these groups, so that decision-making is supported by meaningful engagement
Responsibilities
- Develop the trust’s vision and strategy
- Establish a culture of high educational standards, which promotes staff and pupil wellbeing
- Set the trust’s strategic aims and objectives
- Make sure all pupils have access to a broad and balanced curriculum
- Monitor provision for pupils with SEND
- Monitor educational performance of the trust’s academies, using a range of data sources
- Ensure stakeholders (parents, pupils, staff and the local community) are informed and consulted as appropriate
- Approve the budget for the academy trust and, where relevant, for academies within the trust
- Monitor and evaluate the trust’s financial performance
- Approve and review trust policies, and hold staff to account for their implementation
- Ensure the trust is compliant with legal requirements, including that all statutory policies and documents are in place
- Make sure the trust complies with laws that apply to charities and companies, and with its funding agreement
- Carry out the appointment and performance management of the principal/chief executive
- Be a source of challenge and support to the principal/chief executive
- Monitor and evaluate the trust’s staffing structure(s)
- Monitor health and safety in the academy/across the trust
- In a multi-academy trust, work with those involved in local academy governance, supporting and holding them to account

Time commitment
The time commitment for the trustee role will vary. However, all trustees must attend at least 3 meetings of the full board per year. The term of office is 4 years.
Usually trustees sit on a committee focused on an area they have knowledge of, or are particularly interested in – for example, the finance committee. Committees generally meet up to six times a year.
Preparation for meetings includes reading papers and preparing questions for senior leaders.
You will also be expected to undertake any training required to enable you to discharge your role effectively.

Academies are both charities and companies limited by guarantee. Academy trustees are therefore both charity trustees and company directors, and must comply with company and charity law.
