Job description

Volunteer Personal Development & Life Skills Manager

Unlock YOUR Potential – Adult Social Mobility Charity

Location: Remote

Hours: Flexible

Type: Volunteer Leadership Role

Lead a Programme That Helps Adults Rebuild Confidence, Purpose, and Direction

Unlock YOUR Potential is an ambitious adult social mobility charity dedicated to supporting people from deprived communities to gain the confidence, skills, and opportunities they need to transform their lives. Through programmes in employability, personal development, wellbeing, and life skills, we empower adults to break cycles of disadvantage and step into brighter, more hopeful futures.

We are now building a powerful Personal Development & Life Skills Programme — and we are seeking a compassionate, organised, and visionary leader to shape it from the ground up.

Your work will help adults rediscover their strengths, rebuild their confidence, and take control of their lives.

The Role: Volunteer Personal Development & Life Skills Manager

This is a deeply meaningful and creative leadership role. You will design, develop, and manage a programme that supports adults to grow in confidence, resilience, emotional wellbeing, and essential life skills.

You will work closely with the Founder to create a journey that helps participants understand themselves, set goals, build healthy habits, and develop the practical skills needed to thrive.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the full design and set‑up of our Personal Development & Life Skills Programme.

  • Develop a curriculum covering confidence‑building, self‑esteem, resilience, communication, emotional wellbeing, goal‑setting, and essential life skills.

  • Create workshops, resources, and activities that are engaging, empowering, and accessible.

  • Build partnerships with wellbeing practitioners, coaches, and community organisations.

  • Recruit and support volunteers and facilitators involved in programme delivery.

  • Oversee participant onboarding, engagement, and progression.

  • Ensure the programme is trauma‑informed, inclusive, and rooted in dignity and empowerment.

  • Monitor outcomes and continuously improve the programme based on feedback and data.

  • Work closely with the Founder to shape long‑term strategy and programme growth.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in personal development, coaching, wellbeing, adult learning, or programme management.

  • A deep passion for helping adults grow in confidence, resilience, and self‑belief.

  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.

  • The ability to design structured, supportive, and inspiring learning experiences.

  • A compassionate, trauma‑aware, and participant‑centred approach.

  • Creativity, initiative, and a desire to build something meaningful from the ground up.

  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.

What You’ll Gain

  • A leadership role shaping a flagship programme for a national charity.

  • The opportunity to help adults rebuild their confidence, identity, and direction.

  • A meaningful addition to your professional portfolio and leadership experience.

  • Flexible volunteering that fits around your life and commitments.

  • The fulfilment of knowing your work directly helps adults transform their lives and futures.

Be the Guide Who Helps Others Rise

If you’re ready to use your skills to build and lead a programme that empowers adults to grow, heal, and thrive, we would love to hear from you.

Apply today and help us unlock potential across the UK.
