We are looking to recruit a Fundraising Volunteer for the Basingstoke Group. As our Fundraising Volunteer you’ll support your Group Coordinator to organise local fundraising activities and events throughout the year.

In this role you’ll be able to develop your organisation, communication and team working skills.Most importantly you’ll inspire your local community to raise funds that help make sure no one has to face MS alone.

Time Commitment

About the role 

Do you have a passion for photography and videography, and enjoy capturing stories that inspire others? We’re looking for creative and enthusiastic volunteers to help us showcase the work of the Derbyshire Recovery Peer Support Service (DRPSS) by documenting our groups, events, and community activities.

As a Community Visual Media Volunteer, you’ll:

• Capture high-quality photos and videos of groups, events, and activities
• Work alongside staff to plan and attend sessions and events
• Ensure photo/video consent is gained and recorded appropriately
• Upload and organise media on a shared drive for staff to use in reports, social media, and promotional materials

You’ll play a key role in helping us highlight the positive impact of our work and inspiring others to get involved

Full training and regular supervision will be provided, so you’ll feel confident and supported in your role.

About the service 

The Derbyshire Recovery Peer Support Service (DRPSS) helps people improve and maintain their mental health and wellbeing, and reconnect with their local community. We offer one-to-one support, telephone support, and community groups to anyone over 18 in Derbyshire who is experiencing mental ill health.

Your creative skills will help bring our service to life, celebrate people’s stories, and showcase the difference our community makes.

What will make you a great fit for this role?

• Good knowledge of photography and videography
• Access to equipment and digital editing software
• Good ICT skills
• Understanding of mental health support and safeguarding
• A supportive, non-judgmental approach when working with people from all backgrounds

It’s not essential, but you may also bring:

Filling Good is a community-led sustainable retail community benefit society on a mission to reduce waste, promote ethical consumption, and support local, eco-conscious producers. Main purpose of the job

Recognising the primary importance of our volunteers, be responsible for all people-related issues and processes to do with volunteers, members, work experience and paid staff and occasional assistance with Duke of Edinburgh students.

This position is a volunteer position.

Key tasks

- Be responsible for recruitment and for issuing and maintaining contracts

- Members: manage membership lifecycle, from registration to end of membership: welcome emails, renewals, communication of information relating to training and the shop

- Maintain and when required be responsible for operating the grievance, disciplinary, and safeguarding procedures

- Make sure that the Filling Good community is nurtured with get togethers, laughs, etc…

- Training for volunteers

- Documenting organization and job descriptions

Ideal candidate:

- You have experience in HR and people-related processes.

- You have a good understanding of retail and shop floor working and the best approach to working with volunteers.

- You have about 4 hours per week to dedicate to the position, including some regular board meetings.

We are looking to recruit a Communications Volunteer for the Worcester and District Group. As our Communications Volunteer you’ll make sure people know they have a local MS Society group to turn to.

In this role you’ll be able to develop your writing skills, and gain an experience of communicating across a range of digital channels.

The difference you will make to cats and people

If you enjoy driving and would love to use those skills to help our cats, this could be the role for you. Our transport volunteers provide vital assistance to our teams and volunteer groups in the local area by transporting equipment, litter, food – and even cats! They have the essential role of connecting our network of volunteers, sites, vets and supporters.

Without the passionate and committed teams of volunteers across Cats Protection, we wouldn’t be able to help the thousands of cats and kittens each year that rely on us for help.

In this role you’ll develop your administration and organisation skills. Most importantly you’ll be help your local group run efficiently, so they can keep providing valuable services to our MS community.
