Hours: Part-time, 17.5 hours per week

Prospectus is delighted to be supporting our client, a national children's charity, in the search for a temporary Volunteer Coordinator (Independent Visitors).
This role provides a fantastic opportunity for an experienced youth work professional to make an immediate and meaningful difference in an impactful organisation, supporting children and young people to ensure their voices are heard and their rights are upheld.
Please note that will the role is based around Chester and West Cheshire, the successful candidate must attend induction in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester. This role also requires a valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle (with travel expensed). Please also be aware that this role will be subject to an enhanced DBS check due to the requirement to interact with vulnerable children unsupervised.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, assess, train and support volunteers, ensuring they are equipped to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people.
- Manage volunteer recruitment campaigns and promote opportunities through community outreach, networking and partnership working.
- Coordinate referrals and matching processes, ensuring children and young people are paired with suitable volunteers.
- Provide ongoing supervision, guidance and support to volunteers, promoting safe, effective and rewarding volunteering experiences.
- Build positive relationships with children, young people, volunteers, carers and partner agencies to support successful outcomes.
- Monitor volunteer matches, complete regular reviews and help manage positive and well-planned endings.
- Ensure all safeguarding, risk assessment and compliance requirements are met, responding appropriately to concerns when they arise.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, case notes and reports in line with organisational policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with social workers, local authorities and other professionals to deliver a high-quality service.
- Contribute to service development, monitoring and evaluation activities, helping to identify improvements and share best practice.
- Support the administration of the service, including volunteer onboarding, record management and general coordination activities.
- Represent the organisation professionally at meetings, events and partnership forums.
Key Requirements:
- Recent, relevant experience in a similar role, with excellent knowledge of advocacy, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
- High level of organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Collaborative and proactive approach, with the capability to work both independently and in a team.

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Supervising Social Worker to work directly with Step-Forward carers who care for young people who are moving or have already moved from residential to a foster home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide regular guidance, training and support including regular in person supervisory visits and other communications to Foster Carers.
- Work collaboratively as part of the team around the child to ensure that the children’s needs are fully assessed, they are carefully matched and well supported in their transition to a foster family.
- To maintain a mutually supportive hub community of Step Forward foster carers.
- Build strong relationships with prospective foster carers by undertaking some fostering assessments and supporting them in their preparation for fostering.
- Where capacity allows, undertake Form F assessments.
- Ensuring children are visited regularly and are included in TACT activities.
- Monitoring outcomes for children and supporting them to reach their full potential.
- Identifying the professional and personal needs of foster families to facilitate development and retention.
What You’ll Need
- A degree in Social Work or equivalent.
- Up-to-date registration with Social Work England.
- A minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in a regulated fostering service.
- A proven track record in working with and on behalf of children, respecting and maintaining their individuality, and promoting their positive development.
- Assessment of Foster Carers, using BAAF Competency Based Form F, where required.
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Ability to write clear reports and maintain clear case records.
- Enhanced DBS (processed by TACT).
Travel
- Homebased in the Greater Manchester or Merseyside areas (travel required across these areas)
- Monthly face-to-face meetings in the Liverpool area
- Additional travel for training, team and carer events
