Volunteer Role: Administrative Assistant

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and highly organised Administrative Assistant volunteer to support the smooth running of our July Intensive and general operations. You’ll work closely with the founder and the partnerships lead to help coordinate logistics, manage communications, and keep everything on track behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities

• Help manage participant and speaker communication (emailing, scheduling reminders, etc.)

• Track sign-ups, responses, and forms in spreadsheets or Airtable

• Support with workshop scheduling and calendar invites

• Assist with meeting notes and light project management

• General admin tasks as needed to support program delivery

The country’s only dedicated ancient tree charity, the Ancient Tree Forum (ATF), is looking for a new Trustee with Fundraising Experience.

About us – The ATF seeks to secure the long-term future of ancient trees through advocacy of no further avoidable loss, good management, and the development of a succession of future ancient trees. The ATF is needed now more than ever – this is a critical time for ancient trees, the habitats they support and the landscapes in which they can survive and flourish. Their protection is crucial, not least because these living monuments represent a globally important resource, for biodiversity, cultural connection, mental & physical health, carbon capture, and soil conservation.

We have a small team of volunteers who create and post our content but we are battling the algorithms.A large part of our findraising efforts rely on our reach across Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), Tik Tok and Blue Sky and this allows us to keep our dogs fed and well cared for. Understanding how each platform works, its features and its auidience is a key part of this volunteer role. Although a remote position you will be joining a warm and friendly team who are in contact daily when needed so you will receive all the support you need. Position Summary

We are seeking two dedicated and reliable Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officers to support our data collection, analysis, and reporting efforts. The ideal candidate should be physically available, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills. Experience in administering questionnaires and gathering feedback from project beneficiaries is essential.

Key Responsibilities • Assist in reviewing, and administering questionnaires and other data collection tools. • Collect data through surveys, interviews, and field visits. • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and reporting. • Support in analyzing data and preparing basic reports and visual summaries. • Maintain organized and confidential records of collected data. • Provide feedback from the field to help improve project delivery. • Support M&E team with logistical tasks as needed during data collection exercises. • Attend trainings and debriefings as required.

Time Commitment:
Trustees are required to attend quarterly Board meetings, participation in working groups or committees, and occasional representation of SAPHNA at events. The Treasurer role may require additional time to review financial matters and liaise with staff.

Educators and facilitators wanted to help East London Waterworks Park deliver its environmental learning goals.

East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces. 

We are looking for educator and facilitator volunteers to participate in our community-led working group, who are collaborating with schools, universities and youth groups that help the design of the park. 

Examples of projects are: 

• collaborating on nature walk activities for schools
• supporting university students interviewing teachers
• creating lesson plans to co-design the park.

We're looking for people to lead on these projects and facilitate the direction of the learning working group.

The Learning Circle currently meets monthly on a Wednesday evening at 8pm for an hour on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.

You should be an experienced teacher, educational consultant, forest school leader, training and development specialist, learning designer, facilitator or any other kind of role creating learning projects, programmes and experiences. Our roles are quite flexible. We hope that people bring radical imagination, peace with nature, and courageous inclusiveness to the role. 

Your support will help young people and learners improve their environmental knowledge of design and research as well as contributing to our community-owned park. This will in turn provide a sense of stewardship over the land once the park is created and student's ideas have been built into the park. 

Creating learning projects with educational institutions will also help our charity with the strategy to buy the land through showing the value of our environmental education programme before we create the park.

Help us grow and engage our audiences by creating communications materials for us to use externally and across our website, social media, print materials and newsletter, so that we can help support the mental health of more women across Sussex.

Description

Our charity delivers counselling and therapeutic groups for women across Sussex. We are looking for an experienced communications professional to work with to support with all or some of the following:

Communications:

· Help to create a communications plan with the CEO, mapping out key activities and campaigns over the year

Social media:

· Assess our current social media and make recommendations to improve content and engagement

· Design and create weekly posts and reels using Canva

· Create 1-3 social posts per week

Newsletter:

· Re-purpose key social posts for our monthly e-newsletter, using MailChimp

Outreach:

· Build a partner communication list and liaise with key organisations and share key materials with them, such as leaflets and information about our services to raise our profile

· Build contacts and reach out to potential press to raise awareness of our organisation

Events:

· Assist with fundraising events and promotion of these from the Brighton 10K run, our Christmas raffle and party.

You will be working with the CEO who will provide our existing brand/style/logo guidelines and brand research/user personas.
