About Victory Afghanistan
Victory Afghanistan is a Chicago-registered nonprofit dedicated to providing education and mentorship to Afghan girls and young women who have been banned from attending school. We currently run six levels of English classes and a Mentorship Programme that includes three career pathways:
1. Online Higher Education – Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees through remote universities.
2. Offline Higher Education – Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees via scholarships and sponsorships abroad.
3. Online Work & Internships – Virtual career and internship opportunities.
About the Role
We’re now looking for a new Online Pathway Manager to oversee and expand the Online Higher Education stream. You’ll step into an existing structure — our previous manager will fully brief you — so you won’t be starting from zero.
Your mission will be to help identify and secure online learning opportunities for our mentees who cannot leave Afghanistan. This could include building relationships with universities in the US or Europe, sourcing scholarships or sponsorships, and exploring donated course placements.
You’ll work closely with three Project Coordinators (who are also students in our academy), guiding and mentoring them as they assist you.
What We’re Looking For
• Strong initiative and leadership – someone who can drive things forward independently.
• Confident communicator with good public relations skills.
• Experience in higher education, partnerships, or international development is ideal.
• Based in the United Kingdom or United States (for time-zone alignment).
• Able to commit around 6 hours per week and attend weekly team meetings.
• Ideally available until September 2026 (the end of the next academic year).
You’ll report directly to the Operations Manager and work with a small, passionate, and global team making a real impact in girls’ lives.
Use your expertise to shape education, influence communities, and grow as a leader. Roles available at colleges England.
Are you a business leader or corporate professional looking to make a meaningful impact outside the boardroom?
By becoming a volunteer governor at a further education (FE) or sixth form college, you’ll help shape the strategic direction of an organisation that transforms lives through education and skills—while strengthening your own governance experience and leadership credentials.
Why it’s relevant to professionals like you
Further Education colleges train over 1.6 million learners annually, preparing the skilled workforce that keeps our economy moving—from engineers and IT specialists to healthcare professionals and construction experts.
As a college governor, you’ll sit on the board of an FE institution (and registered charity), where your insight into strategy, risk, people, or finance will have a direct impact on how public funds are spent, how performance is measured, and how learners are supported to succeed.
This is an opportunity to:
- Apply your corporate skills in a charitable leadership role
- Gain board-level experience and enhance your CV
- Contribute to local economic growth and social mobility
- Support a vital sector during a time of transformation
What you’ll do
As part of a governing board, you’ll:
- Set strategic direction: Help define the college’s mission and goals
- Hold leadership to account: Monitor finances, performance, and outcomes
- Ensure governance excellence: Make decisions in the best interests of learners and stakeholders
- Act as a charity trustee: Ensure financial sustainability and legal compliance
You’ll also engage with senior leaders and external stakeholders, including local employers, regulators, and community partners.
Who we’re looking for
We welcome professionals from a broad range of sectors, including but not limited to:
- Finance, Audit & Risk
- HR, People & Culture
- Strategy, Transformation & Operations
- Technology, AI & Digital
- Legal, Governance & Compliance
- Marketing, PR & Communications
- Education, Apprenticeships or vocational courses
What matters most is your strategic thinking, commercial awareness, and commitment to helping others succeed.
Prior education experience is not required. Full induction and training are provided, with access to DfE-funded development and peer mentoring where needed.
Time commitment
Expect to give approximately 1–2 days per month, including:
- Attending board and committee meetings (in-person or remote)
- Reading papers and preparing questions
- Participating in training and occasional college visits
The time commitment is manageable alongside a full-time role—and many employers actively support staff to take on governance roles as part of their professional development.
Where you’ll be needed
Some colleges offer remote governance and meetings take place online. This may suit you best, or we may suggest a role where you volunteer on a hybrid basis at a college within a reasonable distance from you. We are recruiting governors for colleges across England, with new opportunities added regularly.
What’s in it for you?
· Enhance your board-level and governance experience
· Develop strategic oversight and leadership outside your day-to-day role
· Expand your professional network
·Give back in a way that creates long-term, measurable impact
· Gain exposure to the education, charity, and public sectors
Ready to step into a strategic, purpose-driven leadership role?
If you’re ready to bring your corporate insight to the education sector and help shape the future of skills, opportunity, and social mobility—we’d love to hear from you.

We're looking for a motivated and highly organised Events Administrative Manager to play a central role in the smooth organisation of Bi Pride 2026. This role will provide administrative support to the Events team and supervise the newly developed Events Administration sub-team.
Ideal time commitment: approx. 5-10 hours per month; flexible. This is likely to increase on the approach to an event.
Location: remote/ home based, in-person attendance at events is desirable.
Supported/ supervised by: the Head of Events, also working closely with the Events Trustee and volunteers in the Events team.
Bi Pride UK’s mission is to create spaces where people who experience attraction beyond gender can be freely visible and celebrate themselves and their identities. It’s not enough to be ‘welcome’ at Pride. We make up a very large proportion of the queer community – the 2021 Census actually shows we’re half of the community – and we deserve to be visible and celebrated in our own right.
There are many ways to make this happen, and we work in many ways to bring this change about:
-
Outreach work with other Prides, LGBTQ+ organisations and bi organisations – our consultation work with local Prides, the UK Pride Organisers Network and local and national LGBTQ+ organisations works in a tailored way to make sure that bi inclusion is a top priority and is being done well
-
Organising a high-profile annual Bi Pride event – from September 2019, Bi Pride UK made history with the largest ever gathering of bi people recorded. A performance stage, a panel stage, stall village, street food, and over 1,300 attendees. After going virtual with the BiFi Festival for 2020 due to Covid-19 and running a virtual Pride event in 2021, we came back in person in 2022 with a hybrid event, and have been running the event in this format ever since
-
Building a strong online and virtual community – just as important as the rest of our work is making sure that people hear about it! People need to know what resources and spaces exist for them, and how they can connect with other people like them
The role:
The Events team at Bi Pride UK is one of the core operational teams within the charity. The team handles programming, production and execution of our events, including our annual flagship Bi Pride event, which holds the record for the largest Bi Pride event in the world. This role will sit within the Events Administration sub-team, who are responsible for organising and performing administrative tasks to support the Events team to deliver smooth and highly successful events.
We are looking for a motivated and highly organised Events Administrative Manager to play a central role in the smooth organisation of Bi Pride 2026. This role will provide administrative support to the Events team, most specifically assisting the Head of Events and Events Trustee with their administrative needs. The Events Administrative Manager will also supervise the Events Administration sub-team, helping to build up and shape this new emerging branch of the Events team. The holder of this role will join a supportive team, working with volunteers across the Events team and wider charity to contribute towards defining and improving the internal processes involved in producing Bi Pride 2026.
Key tasks of this role will include:
-
Working closely with the Head of Events and Events Trustee to ensure efficient organisation of the administrative activity relating to the Events team;
-
Monitoring a shared Events team email inbox, including answering queries and escalating emails to the appropriate internal volunteer as required;
-
Monitoring and maintaining a shared Events team planner, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate;
-
Facilitating and tracking the completion of general event contributor contracts (such as consultants, catering, BSL interpreters, etc.), and maintaining accurate record keeping of the documentation;
-
Receiving invoices from event contributors, maintaining accurate record keeping of these documents and sharing documentation with the Finance Team to process payments;
-
Liaising with the Events team and event contributors to gather required information about the event/ contributors, and sharing this information with the Media & Comms Team in a timely manner for the production of Event related assets and promotional materials;
-
Supervising a small team of year-round volunteers (dedicated to the administration of Bi Pride UK events);
-
Attending regular Events Team meetings and venue visits, to contribute to the smooth planning and execution of the event.
Our team volunteers remotely from anywhere in the UK, with some travel required occasionally (primarily for our flagship Pride event in London in August). All reasonable expenses incurred are reimbursed, including travel, lunch at away days and other all day events, and some childcare costs if required. The successful candidate will attend fortnightly Events team meetings on Wednesday evenings via conference call, in addition to other possible meetings with the Events Administration sub-team and Events Trustee and Head of Events which will be scheduled in line with the team’s best availability.
Volunteer specification:
-
Interest and passion for tackling discrimination against and improving the visibility of people in the UK attracted to more than one gender;
-
An understanding of the needs of people and communities in the UK attracted beyond gender;
-
Commitment to the aims and objectives of Bi Pride UK;
-
Experience of administration in a workplace or charity role;
-
Some experience of overseeing a team, especially volunteers;
-
Ability to handle documentation and accurate record keeping in a manner which adheres to confidentiality and GDPR requirements;
-
Confidence to suggest improvements to pre-existing administrative approaches, and create and maintain new administrative processes;
-
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with volunteers at all levels within the organisation, as well as with event contributors;
-
Excellent IT skills (for example, Google Workspace applications);
-
Excellent written and oral communication skills;

Our Legal Access Department is an access to justice project that exists to arrange critical legal representation for people seeking asylum and, more than this, to support people through the hostility and difficulty of claiming asylum. The department, made up mostly of volunteers, works tirelessly to ensure that people feel informed, empowered, and far less isolated and alone.

We are looking for people who have a genuine passion for human rights and refugee protection. If this is you, please get in touch.
Responsibilities:
-
Supporting people seeking asylum to understand the process and ensuring that they are able to make their own, informed choices.
-
Attend induction, ongoing training and keep up to date with resources and procedure to ensure you can carry out the role effectively and efficiently.
-
Working independently and managing your time, sometimes working to tight deadlines.
-
Taking on new cases regularly, whilst also providing ongoing support to existing clients.
-
Sorting and organising client’s paperwork and accurately maintaining client records.

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. Participants are encouraged to be both consumers and producers of learning through script-work, role-play and creative media such as films and art. Throughout, we enable young people to explore their choices, rights and expectations in relationships and to recognise the early warning signs of abuse.
Tender works first and foremost with young people, meaning our work is always varied and constantly evolving. We are therefore lucky to receive the support and guidance from our Youth Board, who meet monthly to develop Tender’s activities and direction, and explore innovative ways of engaging young people in a way that stays relevant to them.
What is the Tender Youth Board?
Tender’s Youth Board is an advisory group that supports the on-going development and delivery of Tender’s work. As a youth-based organisation, the board plays a vital role in guiding how we engage young people in conversations around healthy relationships, domestic abuse and sexual violence, and promote the issue to wider society. We do this by getting young people to work closely with members from every department of the Tender team and its Board of Trustees.
The Youth Board supports Tender’s work by:
- Developing and delivering awareness-raising campaigns and blogs
- Contributing ideas for projects and resources
- Reviewing Tender’s activities that are used in workshops with young people to ensure they are relevant and appropriate
- Discussing policies and current events in the Violence Against Women and Girls sector
- Contributing to Tender’s recruitment processes
- Contributing to Tender’s funding applications
Time Expectations
We ask our Youth Board members for a commitment to volunteering for a minimum of 6 hours every three months. The ways members can engage are listed below:
- Meetings will be typically held twice a month on Wednesday, 5:30pm – 6:30pm. It is important that you can attend the majority of these online meetings, and at least one meeting a month.
- Twice per year, in March and October, a meeting is held in person at Tender’s London office – travel and food expenses are covered.
- Volunteering time at public events to promote Tender’s cause, such as panels and organisational events.
- Carrying out other tasks that come up outside meetings, such as blog writing, or being on steering groups for specific projects.
- Engaging with flexible work experience opportunities in various teams across the charity.
- Responding to emails before meetings to let us know if you will be able to attend or not.
You can find example of the types of events attended by our Youth Board, and blogs written by members on our website and in our trustee report.
How we support you
Three members of the Tender team support the Youth Board by running the interactive and creative meetings, and planning the year’s activities. They will be available during your time on the Youth Board to ensure you get the most out of volunteering with us.
At Tender we believe in the importance of giving back to those who volunteer their time with us. You will be given a full induction to the Youth Board so that you understand our work and your role as a Youth Board member. As an active member of the youth board, you will be offered opportunities and rewards, such as:
- Free masterclasses from external organisations (topics have included: CV writing, working in policy, influencing government, facilitating workshops using arts-based methods, and charity governance)
- Free tickets to theatre productions, exhibitions and other public events
- Opportunities to build your CV through campaigning, masterclasses, events and work experience.
To make sure we’re supporting our Youth Board members, we carry out a survey of new members to better understand what you wish to gain from the Youth Board, and endeavour to offer opportunities to develop in ways that will support your future plans and ambitions. This could even include working at Tender – a number of our employees started their journeys at Tender on the Youth Board!
Who can apply to the Youth Board?
We are looking for young people aged 16-25 living in any region within the UK who:
- Understand issues impacting young people’s relationships
- Would like to learn more about campaigning on topics surrounding relationships, gender equality and domestic abuse
- Are interested in working with Tender to influence the work we do and the impact we have
- Are interested in drama and the arts as a tool for social change
We understand that some applicants may have personal experiences of these issues or know people with personal experiences. The Youth Board is not a therapeutic space and therefore we would never ask you to talk about these experiences. Please be mindful that this role will interact with topics that are sometimes difficult, and it is therefore important that you consider whether this is the right time for you to engage in this work.
We are especially looking for volunteers who are aged 16-18, LGBTQ+, black and ethnic minorities, male-identifying, non-binary and young people with disabilities.
Application Process
Applications are currently open, and will close on 2 November 2025 at 11.59pm . You can find tips on how to write your application at the top of the application form. Tender will then review applications and invite shortlisted applicants to a one-hour group online interview. Those who are accepted onto the programme will be invited to an online induction before their first meeting.
Interview dates are as follows:
Tuesday 25th November, 5.30pm - 7.00pm
Wednesday 26th November, 5.30pm - 7.00pm

Trustee role description
About IMIX
Immigration is one of the key debates within UK politics and the media. IMIX is working to ensure that debate includes the voices of migrants and those who support them.
Our vision is for a society that welcomes people who move to the UK and understands the different journeys—through migration or displacement—that bring them here. A society that recognises how overlapping injustices shape those journeys, and where everyone can belong, be treated fairly, and live well together.
Our mission is to use our media and communications expertise to ensure the voices and stories of migrants and refugees help shape how migration is understood and discussed in the UK.
We do this by working with people who have lived experience of the immigration system, the organisations that support them, and the journalists who shape public opinion—always recognising the inequalities and barriers that affect whose voices are heard.
We have a new strategy to 2030, which sets out the role that we play in the migration sector, and our ambitions for the years ahead. These are to:
-
ensure that more people with lived experience of migration have the skills and confidence to communicate effectively in the media.
-
ensure that more organisations working to support migrants and refugees develop their media communication skills and capacity to tell the human story of migration.
-
work with journalists and media teams to significantly increase the level of positive migrant and refugee stories reported in the UK media, designed to increase empathy and understanding of the issues experienced by migrants and refugees.
To strengthen our governance for this new strategic period, we’re recruiting four new Trustees.
Here’s what our current Trustees say about being part of IMIX:
“It has been a privilege to support IMiX as part of the board. I have enjoyed seeing the organisation progress. A small but hugely passionate and effective team doing work that is more important than ever. IMiX has proved itself invaluable to the sector and whoever joins the board next will have important work to do to continue to strengthen IMiX at this crucial time for the debate on immigrants and refugees. This role offers the opportunity to help spread a reasoned narrative on a hot topic political issue that badly needs balance.” Shazia Ejaz
“It’s truly been a privilege to serve on the Board and to be part of such an inspiring organisation. I’ve learned so much from this experience.” Zain Hafeez
“To an increasingly challenging public conversation about migration, IMiX brings calm expertise and evidence, positive messages and life-changing stories that change people's minds. It's a really important role to play, and the Board of Trustees make this possible by steering the strategy of the organisation and ensuring the staff and volunteers can deliver their work in a safe and supportive environment. Our Trustees are a strong and committed group of people and it's a pleasure and privilege to work with them.” Geraldine Blake (Chair)
The Duties of a Trustee
Trustees have overall control of a charity and are responsible for making sure it’s doing what it was set up to do, keeping the organisation on track and running effectively.
The IMIX Board meets four times a year to discuss with the Chief Executive and the team a wide range of issues. Our shared duties are to:
Strategy
-
Support the implementation of IMIX’s vision, mission, values and strategy.
-
Approve activities that deliver the strategic goals, along with operational policies, and monitor and evaluate their implementation.
-
Ensure that key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively.
Finance and Resources
-
Ensure the strategy is resourced by overseeing IMIX’s financial plans and budgets.
-
Support and participate in fundraising and income generation activities
-
Review and approve IMIX’s annual financial statements.
IMIX Team
-
Provide support and challenge to IMIX’s Chief Executive
-
Ensure that structures are in place that safeguard the well-being of IMIX’s team including volunteers and ambassadors.
-
Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation.
External
-
Act as a champion of IMIX, promoting IMIX’s aims and reputation by applying your skills, expertise, knowledge and contacts whilst also ensuring that IMIX plays an appropriate role in the wider migration sector.
-
Act as an ambassador for IMIX, attending events and relevant meetings.
-
Bring intelligence to the Board on changes in IMIX’s operating environment.
General
-
Contribute to regular reviews of IMIX’s own governance.
-
Attend Board meetings, coming prepared to contribute to discussions.
Being a trustee means making decisions that will impact on the services and support that IMIX delivers and making a difference to the debate on migration.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for people to join our Board who have either or both of the following:
Lived experience of migration or asylum
More than half of our Board of Trustees have lived experience of migration, ranging from arriving as a refugee, growing up in the UK without settled status, moving to the UK from Europe, or being British but born outside of the UK.
It is important to us that people with lived experience are leading the governance of the organisation, as well as being involved across our projects, through Advisory Groups and Ambassador programmes. We recognise that diverse perspectives strengthen governance and decision-making, and we seek to continue broadening the range of backgrounds and experiences represented on our board.
Professional skills
We’re particularly looking for experience in one or more of the following areas:
-
Media and Journalism
-
Digital
-
Fundraising and/or income generation
-
Legal and financial oversight for charities
-
Public sector/local authority experience, in particular regional links beyond London
Personal attributes
All our Trustees need to have:
-
A commitment to IMIX and its values
-
The ability to analyse information and understand the implications and opportunities
-
Sound, independent judgement, and a willingness to speak your mind
-
A willingness and ability to devote the necessary time and effort
-
An understanding of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
-
An ability to work collectively and effectively on a Board
What’s the commitment?
The Trustee term is three years, with an option to renew for a second term.
We have quarterly board meetings which take place online, with at one in person away day each year in London. We also have two sub-committees, one on People and HR, and the other on Finances and Funding, which meet in the month before a Board meeting.
How will we support you?
We’ll provide a full induction to the work of IMIX, and opportunities for you to understand what we do and how.
The Chair and Chief Executive will support you to settle in, and there is an annual one-to-one with the Chair for you to reflect on your learning and your experience of being on the Board.
We can also provide training and opportunities for you to develop your governance skills and particularly welcome people who may be new to governance roles.
What difference will you make?
IMIX is at the heart of the UK’s migration debate. By 2030, we want to see a shift—not just in media coverage, but in the national conversation. Migration will no longer be framed as a problem to be managed, but as part of who we are as a society. Public understanding will be more empathetic, informed and connected to lived experience. People who move will be seen as neighbours, colleagues, carers and community members—not strangers.
We believe this future is possible. It will be built through shared values, solidarity across communities, and powerful storytelling that reflects the full complexity of people’s lives. At its heart will be the principle that migration is not a threat but a vital part of a healthy, connected society.
At a time when the rise of the far right is fuelling hostility and fear around migration, our work has never been more urgent. IMIX stands with partners across the migration sector to counter divisive narratives and strengthen solidarity. As a Trustee, you will help us ensure that truth, empathy and shared humanity remain at the centre of the national conversation.
IMIX will continue to play its role—supporting the sector, amplifying migrant voices, and changing the story. As a Trustee of IMIX, you will help us to deliver this future.
How to apply
To apply please send a CV and a covering letter explaining why you want the role and how you meet the requirements by midnight on Monday 10th November 2025.
If you would like an informal chat before applying with the Chair or Chief Executive, please contact Jenni Regan
We will be holding interviews on Tuesday 25th and Friday 28th November 2025, with the intention that new Trustees will join the Board in December 2025.
Our vision is for a society which embraces people who move to the UK whether through migration or displacement
