Join our amazing volunteer team to raise awareness of the issues affecting blind and partially sighted people in relation to sport. You will give talks in person or virtually, sharing your own story to improve understanding of sight loss to sports clubs, sporting venues and facilities and community groups. You’ll be making a real difference to people living with sight loss by helping to improve accessibility and inclusivity, creating a sporting world without barriers.

What you’ll be doing
1. Talks to sports and physical activity providers to support and encourage them to consider the needs of blind and partially sighted people by sharing your story to audiences, for example, local leisure centres, sporting venues and sports clubs.
2. Delivering talks to raise awareness of existing sporting and physical activity opportunities for blind and partially sighted people.
3. Representing RNIB as an Ambassador for the Community Connection service.

We are seeking a dedicated MEL Officer to support our growing impact. This role is crucial to strengthening our data systems, tracking outcomes, and informing strategic decisions. Site managers are responsible for establishing partnerships with University Muslim Student Associations (MSAs) and Islamic Societies (ISocs),  and maintaining positive relationships with these sites. 

Key tasks 

• Actively establish and maintain positive relationships with the MSA/ISoc committees and Student Ambassadors to ensure an exceptional onsite experience for students and promote retention of sites 

• Be responsible for overseeing all onsite logistics through liaison with the Student Ambassador to ensure that onsite logistics including advertising of the class and other required tasks are taken care of by the MSA/ISoc 

• Be the point of contact for ISocs: answer questions from the MSA/ ISoc committees and Student Ambassadors to the best of your ability and engage them on a 1-1 basis, listen to their needs and concerns and addressing these accordingly 

• Collect ideas and best-practices from how different MSAs/ISocs are delivering their class 

• Participate in onboarding current and new sites prior to the start of the academic year 

• Be the point of contact internally for any queries or updates related to assigned MSAs/ISocs

We are looking for volunteers to help support our Pet Food Bank activity. You'll use your attention to detail, organisational and communication skills to help our food banks provide support to the pets that need it most.

Why we want you

Sick, injured and homeless pets have relied on Blue Cross for help since 1897. Each year, thousands of dogs, cats, small pets and horses turn to the charity’s animal hospitals, clinics and rehoming services for treatment and support.

Our Pet Food Banks provide practical support to pet owners during financial crises, by distributing donated pet food via food banks in the local community. Our food banks can be the key to helping owners to keep their much-loved pets. Our Donations Assistants help manage the incoming donations and preparation of food for distribution. All this adds up to keeping more pets with their families. We would love you to join us and help us help more pets and people in need.

What you will be doing

• Organising donations as they come in and regular stock taking to keep track of the food we have available
• Checking use by dates on donated pet food
• Preparing packages of pet food and pet items to be given out to our pet food bank clients or to send to other local food banks for distribution
• Liaising with external food banks and organising deliveries of pet food to meet demand
• Using excel and our database to record the activity of the food bank
• Ensuring any stock overflow is collected for distribution to other Blue Cross coordinated food banks
• You can choose to combine this role with any of our other pet food bank roles if they are also available at your chosen location

The Bond Board is a small but ambitious charity working to reduce homelessness by helping people access and keep homes in the private rented sector. We’ve been going since 1993 and are proud of our grassroots approach, our resilience, and our impact.

We started with Bond Guarantees to help people into housing without the need for a cash deposit. Today, we also run an ethical lettings agency, bring empty homes back into use, and support people with tenancy advice, financial inclusion, refugee resettlement and more. Our services are shaped by the people who use them, and rooted in partnership and local knowledge.

We’re looking for new trustees who share our values and want to help us grow our impact. You don’t need to have been a trustee before. If you have skills and knowledge that could help us achieve our ambitions, we’d love to hear from you. Why Does Roots Academy Exist?

Crisis of Faith: 1 in 4 young Muslims are leaving the religion due to various factors, primarily the pervasive anti-religious content and temptations they encounter online and offline.

Roots Academy exists to bridge this gap by providing a structured and transformative Islamic education that speaks directly to the needs and challenges of young Muslims today, delivered in an engaging and accessible form that removes barriers to access and provokes thought and action.

Role Summary. 

Key tasks

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile and web applications using Flutter for both iOS and Android platforms.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define application features and user experiences.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and team collaboration.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications, resolving issues and optimizing performance as needed.

What we’re looking for

• Eagerness to Learn: A strong desire to learn and contribute to our mission is essential.
• Experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong focus on mobile and web application development using Flutter, Firebase and/or RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of mobile and web application architecture and design patterns, including clean architecture, microservices, client-server, or serverless architecture.
• Experience with testing frameworks or libraries relevant to Flutter development..
• Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, GitHub, Figma.
