Everyone has the legal right to equal access to information, yet only 7% of print books are converted to audio, the format needed for many disabled people. For young people, this has serious implications for their ability to learn and develop, and for the elderly, socially isolated, or disadvantaged, coming to terms with the loss of their sight, health and mobility, losing a lifelong love of the written word can be a real blow.

Calibre Audio’s vision is an inclusive society where everyone with a print disability can enjoy accessible books. The charity distribute 1,500 books daily to children and adults whose lives are transformed by access to literature. They work with all major publishers and record many of their own titles, including books unavailable elsewhere in audio. Calibre Audio are now broadening their mission to deliver wider social impact: improving literacy and education outcomes, supporting wellbeing, and tackling loneliness.

This is a pivotal role responsible for leading and growing income from trusts and foundations. Reporting to the Director of Fundraising & Communications, the postholder will develop and deliver a strategic trusts fundraising programme, securing five- and six-figure grants, building long-term partnerships, and contributing significantly to organisational sustainability and growth.

As Senior Trusts Fundraiser, you will: 

• Develop and implement a multi-year trusts and foundations strategy aligned with organisational priorities
• Identify and cultivate new funding opportunities, with a focus on high-value and multi-year grants

Thousands of older people living in care homes receive few or no visitors. Friends for Life Bedfordshire exists to change that.

We are a Bedford-based charity working to address the social isolation of older residents in Bedfordshire’s care homes.

Founded in 2007, we have grown from a small local initiative to a registered charity with c90 volunteers supporting more than 30 care homes across Bedford Borough. In the last year, over 1,100 care home residents received our services.

The Role

This is a pivotal role for the charity. It is key to the delivery of our business plan and growth aspirations.

About You

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of fundraising and produce results in a small, resource-constrained environment.

Responsibility 1: Income generation

• Assisting the Grants and Project Development Manager on major grant-funding applications and aligning smaller funds to secure match-funding for larger projects.

Responsibility 2: Fund Relationship Management

• Stewarding an agreed portfolio of existing Trust and Foundation relationships, ensuring funder contributions are appropriately recognised and acknowledged and that grant criteria are met.
• Co-ordinating reports to funders, ensuring reports meet requirements and are sent on time.
• Developing new relationships with trust and foundation prospects identified to secure new income.
• Ensuring data on grant income and funders are updated and maintained to a high standard on the Trusts’ customer relationship management system (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT) and SWT SharePoint.
• Assisting with the administration of the Trust’s Programme Management Board (PMB) and project development documentation, helping develop cases of support and content for funding applications.

Responsibility 3: Supporting Wilder Fundraising Strategy

• Highlighting funding opportunities to SWT teams and contributing to funding applications led by other teams.
• Liaising with SWT Finance team to ensure grants are properly recorded, allocated and spending tracked.
• Providing additional support to the Fundraising & Marketing Team (F&M) and other SWT teams, as required and agreed with your line manager.

New Forest Disability Information Service provides a range of information, advice and practical support services to people affected by disability across the New Forest and surrounding areas.

Our team currently comprises: CEO, Operations Manager, 6 Welfare Advisors, Administrator and circa 20 Volunteers who staff our shop and provide first line information and support. All paid staff are part time.

In looking to a more secure and sustainable future, these roles are now being complemented by a marketing manager and this fundraising post.

With the exception of proceeds from our shop, our work is entirely supported by grants and service contracts.

Current significant grant funders are:

We also have a rolling annual service level agreement with New Forest District Council for the provision of specific services.

Despite not having a dedicated fundraising function, we have a positive track record of securing such funding and have strong foundations on which to build.

In order to sustain and develop our service offer, we now need to adopt a focused approach to fundraising to both maintain effective relationships with existing funders and to diversify our income streams.

With the support of Lloyds Foundation we have recently benefitted from the contribution of a fundraising consultant. This has included an analysis of our position/needs and the production of a fundraising strategy. It has also included the provision of various tools and templates including an Excel-based CRM should this be required.

With room for some amendment from the successful candidate, this strategy needs to be converted into a SMART work plan and be implemented.

Priority tasks for the first six months would include:

· Engaging with our consultant to finalise the strategy

· Producing a work plan

· Create and secure agreement re our ‘case for support’

· Identify prospect Trusts and Foundations

· Write and submit a volume of applications to be agreed with the CEO

Our broad performance expectations are to secure a 2:1 return on investment in year one rising to a minimum 4:1 return by end of year three.

Senior Corporate Fundraiser

Location: Hybrid

We are looking for a Senior Corporate Fundraiser to become an integral part of the Meningitis Now corporate fundraising team, as we build upon our longstanding, dedicated supporter base with exciting new partnerships and tremendous potential for growth.

You will provide expert stewardship of our current portfolio of corporate supporters and deliver new fundraising activities and campaigns that will inspire their employees to fundraise. These relationships will develop further by securing new support through sponsorship, company donations, payroll giving and referrals to new partnership prospects within their network.

You will work with the Corporate Fundraising Manager to identify, secure and launch new partnerships for the charity and work together to grow income from corporate fundraising incrementally over the coming years.

We are looking for a creative and passionate person to be responsibile for securing financial support to sustain and grow the Charity's work. A priority is to lead a £3M campaign for a new building. 

Background

The history of our Charity stretches back over 230 years to the foundation of a school for the blind by Edward Rushton. Since 1898 the school has been based in Wavertree and in 2016 Rushton Futures opened alongside the school, providing a service for young adults aged 19+ with complex needs. 

About the Rushton Centre Project

The Development Manager's primary work in the initial phase of the role will be to direct a fundraising campaign for the new Rushton Centre. The Centre is being designed to meet the changing needs of the Charity. As well as a hydrotherapy pool, we want to open a cafe which will give young people with additional needs opportunity for work, and we want to create additional spaces. The Centre will cost an estimated £4M. The Trustees are in a position to contribute £1M from reserves, but the Development Manager will play a crucial role in designing and implementing a fundraising strategy for the remaining funds. 

Key Tasks

1. Develop and implement fundraising strategies and campaigns to meet organisational goals and ensure financial sustainability.

2. Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and foundations, including individuals, corporations, and community organisations.

3. Research and pursue grants and trusts applications, managing the process from start to finish.

4. Coordinate and oversee current charitable donations and legacies.

5. Work with colleagues at the Charity to identify funding priorities; liaise with key post-holders, including the Finance Manager, to meet audit and compliance requirements.

6. Organize fundraising events and initiatives, such as galas, charity drives, and online campaigns, to generate donations and increase public awareness.

7. Manage donor databases and maintain accurate records of contributions, sponsorships, and communications.

8. Take a supporter-centred approach in all your work, building strong, respectful relationships with donors.

9. Communicate the organization’s mission and impact to donors, stakeholders, and the public through presentations, newsletters, and promotional materials.

10. Be responsible for managing and promoting our fundraising profile through social media and other online presence.

11. Monitor and evaluate fundraising campaigns to assess effectiveness and inform future strategies.

Role description:

We are excited to be seeking a talented and motivated individual to join Southampton Hospitals Charity as our Hospital Engagement Co-ordinator.

As a key member of our fundraising team, you will play a vital role in driving supporters and stakeholders to the Charity’s Hub to build a real sense of community spirit and a hive of fundraising activity. This role will provide the right candidate with a rare opportunity to help shape how we engage with donors, visitors, patients and NHS staff in our Hub based in the heart of the hospital.

We are looking for an individual who is as passionate about making a difference and a real people person. This role will be key, as we continue our ambitious new strategy to grow our income, reach and impact. Working across teams, the engagement co-ordinator will help support our key marketing campaigns, fundraising initiatives, events as well as maximising the supporter journey and providing excellent donor care within the hospital.

As Hospital Engagement Co-ordinator, you will be the key link to the Charity and key areas across the hospital, meeting, motivating and inspiring patients, visitors and staff.

Main Responsibilities:

• To maximise onsite donations by driving supporters and stakeholders to the Hub to build a real sense of community spirit and a hive of fundraising activity.
• Collaborate across the charity with our Grants, Marketing and Communications team to co-ordinate charityactivity and implement a hospital engagement and communication plan.
• To work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to identify where collateral can be placed and make sure when items are out of date to remove these and engage with hospital staff to place new posters/flyers within the wards.
• Engage and develop strong working relationships with hospital staff members. · Devise a patient fundraising pack for us in the Hub and across the hospital site.
• Working with UHS staff groups, identifying fundraising champions within the hospital and increase the amount of footfall to the Charity’s hospital hub.
• Collaborate with the community and events fundraising team to recruit and relationship manage hospital staff as part to take part in events.
• To keep up to date records of all collection boxes held within the hospital. · To ensure that all donation processing and onsite administrative duties are carried out effectively and efficiently
• Regularly review and adapt supporter communications, including thank you letters and ensure these are implemented across the organisation for consistency.
• Support with the management of our tap to donate machines, identifying areas around the hospital where we can maximise donations and work with hospital teams to identify areas we can place more.
• To deliver excellent relationship management, ensuring a positive working relationship with hospital colleagues, as well as meaningful and supportive relationships with patient family fundraisers.
• To ensure all activity within team remit complies with the Charity’s values, moral and ethical guidelines, the Fundraising Code of Practice and other relevant regulation and guidance.
• To maintain accurate records of supporter interaction on our CRM system to aid delivery of an exceptional supporter experience and to harness the value of data.
• Provide support in the Charity’s hospital engagement hub, working within the hospital engagement team and covering the welcome desk, supporting with answering emails and telephone calls.
• Support the arts team with the promotion of art workshops and other activities in the hospital.

Description 

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Fundraising to lead and further develop our fundraising activity at a pivotal time for the Cathedral. This is a strategic and hands on role, working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Management Team to secure the resources needed to sustain and grow the Cathedral’s mission, ministry and buildings. 

You will take the lead on generating fundraising income, primarily through trusts and foundations, while also developing appeals, legacy giving, regular giving and new fundraising income streams. You will build on the strong foundations already in place, bringing creativity, rigour and collaboration to everything you do. 

The role 

As Head of Fundraising, you will: 

• Lead relationships with trusts and foundations, identifying opportunities, writing compelling applications and managing reporting and compliance 

• Drive major fundraising bids to support the Cathedral’s Estates Masterplan and strategic priorities 

• Develop and deliver fundraising appeals and pilot new initiatives to diversify income 

• Grow legacy and regular giving, building a sustainable pipeline of long-term supporters 

• Lead supporter care, engagement and fundraising events 

• Oversee fundraising communications and profile raising activity 

• Work collaboratively across the Cathedral to develop fundable projects and shared ownership of fundraising 

• Manage the fundraising budget and report progress to the Senior Management Team and Finance Committee 

• Act as Line Manager for the Development Officer 

This role combines strategic thinking with practical delivery and will suit someone who enjoys working in a small, committed team where no two days are the same.

• A strong track record of writing successful funding applications generating over £250,000pa

This role supports the Philanthropy Manager, Special Events and Committees, and the Senior Event Manager by delivering end‑to‑end event support for our portfolio of special events, including Recital 4 Research, an opera recital and reception; The Royal Marsden Cup, our annual golf day; and the Ever After Garden, our annual remembrance garden. Your role will include coordinating speakers, liaising with suppliers, managing volunteers, supporting in donor meetings, and writing donor communications. You will play an important part in delivering income growth from high value fundraising committees, special events and tribute funds.

This role also leads on prize donor stewardship, identifying opportunities for the Charity to be a beneficiary of an event, and events administration. Your support will ensure that as a team we deliver outstanding donor experiences and event outcomes.
