East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces. 

If you are a professional fundraiser and would like to help but are short on time, we would love to hear from you even if you are unable to get deeply involved. We would appreciate one-off or ongoing advice on the phone, online or in person. We would welcome feedback on our fundraising strategy and past applications, any advice about trust and grant fundraising, and any other advice you can give.

The Spiritual Arts Foundation is the UK’s first arts organisation dedicated to exploring and promoting spirituality in the arts. Founded by musician and composer Clifford White, SAF now represents over 200 creative members — including artists, writers, filmmakers, performers, and musicians — each contributing their own unique perspective on spiritual creativity. Our website hosts hundreds of in-depth member articles, interviews, and features exploring the intersection between art, consciousness, and the human spirit.

We also run the Spiritual Creatives Meetup group, with more than 2,400 members, hosting events, talks, and creative gatherings both online and in person. Alongside this, we are developing exciting new projects including Spirit Songs, our upcoming record label, as well as plans for festivals, workshops, and exhibitions that celebrate and inspire spiritual creativity.

The General Manager will work closely with the Founder to turn ideas into action. This is a communications-focused, hands-on role that involves supporting volunteer teams, managing projects, coordinating events, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. You’ll help oversee multiple initiatives — from fundraising and planning new creative ventures to maintaining communication between teams and keeping projects on track.

Key areas of involvement include:

• Coordinating volunteers and team communication

• Helping to plan and schedule events, particularly for our Spiritual Creatives community

• Supporting the launch of Spirit Songs, our new record label

• Assisting with fundraising and partnership development

• Maintaining our online presence (WordPress and social media)

• Supporting creative planning and strategy alongside the Founder

This is an unpaid volunteer role, but if we are successful in raising funding, it has the potential to become a paid position for the right person.

This role would suit someone who is organised, practical, calm, and creative, with an interest in spirituality, arts, and community development. Experience in any of the following areas would be helpful — arts management, events, marketing, communications, or project coordination — but we are open to all backgrounds if you’re passionate and willing to learn.

Family Friends carefully recruits, trains, and matches volunteers with families in Central-West London. Our befriending volunteers offer long-term practical and emotional support based on each family's unique needs and potential. We offer two befriending volunteer opportunities with us-, Big Buddies and Parent Buddies.

Our Big Buddies support young people, aged 10-18, for a few hours each week over a period of 6 -12 months. With encouragement and support, volunteers will aim to help young people to discover their strengths and build confidence.

Support may look like:

• Helping to strengthen family relationships.
• Providing a listening ear 
• Taking young person to the cinema, museums, libraries - broadening their horizons!

Essential Criteria:

• Can commit to the Big Buddies programme for a minimum of 6 months
• 18+
• Must have lived in the UK for the last 2 years

Become a GamCare Online Peer Supporter

Make a difference by using your own experiences

For over 25 years, GamCare has been there for people experiencing gambling harms, whether that be people who gamble themselves or someone impacted by someone else’s gambling. We offer support over the phone, face-to-face or online and our treatment is free, flexible and confidential.

We are currently recruiting for Online Peer Supporters, to provide one-to-one and group support to both individuals who gamble and those affected by someone else’s gambling. Using their own experiences of gambling-related harms, volunteers will support others digitally as part of our Online Support Services and will include email support as well as facilitating our Forum and Chatrooms.

Full training and ongoing support will be provided to enable you to use your lived experience to work with our team as an Online Peer Supporter, providing support to all of those affected by gambling.

We believe that peer support is essential in the recovery journey. It provides:

• Shared understanding
• Reduces stigma
• A non-judgemental environment
• Practical insights and tools
• Continued motivation and hope

Our online platforms are designed to provide social connection to those who could be isolated or feel they have no one else to talk to. People accessing our services have identified that receiving support from someone who has had similar experiences can really benefit them when overcoming the challenges they may face on their recovery journey. It also provides a sense of community and belonging and contributes to the long-term support of those accessing these services.

Training

A comprehensive training programme will be delivered by our Volunteer Coordinators to provide you with the skills and confidence to use your experiences to support others while protecting your own recovery. Training includes:

• Safeguarding
• Motivational interviewing
• Facilitation skills

Role Responsibilities

Online Peer Supporters will:

• Navigate and guide contacts through existing services at GamCare and the National Gambling Support Network.
• Use motivational interviewing skills while drawing from their own lived experience to provide a supportive, non-judgemental space for those affected by gambling harms.
• Facilitate discussions via our online support services, including:

Email – you will be paired with an individual for regular email correspondence (on average 1-2 emails per week for approximaely 6 months)
Chatrooms – you will facilitate group discussions and supporting conversation between people at various stages of recovery
Forum – you will initiate discussions, respond to posts, and provide encouragement, signposting and support to forum users

• Help individuals set aims and goals to move to a more positive, sustained recovery whilst also providing resources to support people with these plans.
• Recognise the purpose and remit of our service and signposting to other internal and external support where appropriate.

What can I expect from GamCare?

In return, GamCare will:

Role Requirements

For any of our volunteering roles we ask that you have lived experience of gambling-related harms. This includes being affected by someone else’s gambling (friend or family member).

We ask that you’ve been in positive, sustained recovery for at least one year before volunteering with us.

This role is completely remote, so you’ll need access to a reliable internet connection, a computer and a confidential space.

Availability & Commitment

We ask that you have availability at a regular time for around 1-2 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months.

Before volunteering with us, you will need to complete a mixture of self-directed online training and live online group training sessions delivered by our Volunteer Coordinators over a period of approximately 4 weeks.

Senior Fundraising Manager 

Purpose:
To design, lead, and oversee a powerful multi-channel fundraising strategy that supports the CIC’s mission, volunteer expansion, and community-impact programs.

About Charity Success Club: Success Club is a dynamic and ambitious charity dedicated to supporting children and young people who are potentially at risk of under-achieving, both academically and socially. We became a charity in November 2018 but have been working in schools since 2014. We believe that, when children and young people succeed in the moment, they create templates that they can use at any time. Our team puts mindfulness at the heart of our intervention, teaching children and young people how to develop a better relationship with themselves. We help students understand the wider implications of negative attitudes, allowing them to find solutions to issues they may face now and in the future. During 2024 we have provided support and activities to 2970 children across 26 schools. Current tracking (for 2025 year to date) show that we are well on the way to surpassing those figures. We are a passionate team of staff and volunteers, supported by a committed Board of Trustees, working together to create lasting change.

Join the dedicated team at Historic Croydon Airport and contribute to preserving and sharing the rich history of one of the world’s oldest airports. As a volunteer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that visitors have a memorable and safe experience while exploring this historic site.

With a choice of either the morning (9am-1pm) or afternoon shift (1-5pm), we ask that volunteers work at least 10 hours per month - on the first Sunday of each month and an additional weekend.

Responsibilities:

1. Visitor Engagement:

   • Greet and treat all visitors equally, with respect, and without discrimination.
   • Provide knowledgeable and engaging information about the history of Croydon Airport.
   • Assist with visitor inquiries and enhance their overall experience.

2. Safety and Security:

   • Be vigilant about the safety of visitors both inside and outside Airport House.
   • Inform visitors of potential hazards, such as crossing kerbs or the road outside Airport House and using stairs within the building.
   • Ensure visitors are aware of emergency exits and the evacuation procedure. Tour Guides should mention this at the start of each tour, and other volunteers should do so when appropriate.

3. Operational Support:

   • Arrive on time for Open Days to assist with setting up and closing down activities.
   • Help maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the site throughout the day.
   • Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.

Qualifications:

• A keen interest in history and heritage, particularly in aviation and the history of Croydon Airport.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Commitment to treating all visitors with respect and without discrimination.
• Punctuality and reliability.

Training: All volunteers will undergo an induction process, including a review of the HCAT Induction document covering emergency exits and evacuation procedures.

Ideal candidates have experience in curriculum design, teaching, or educational resource development. Creativity, strong writing skills, and an understanding of outdoor or environmental education will be valuable. Our roles are quite flexible. We hope that people bring radical imagination, peace with nature, and courageous inclusiveness to the role.  

Your support will help young people and learners improve their environmental knowledge of design and research as well as contributing to our community-owned park. This will in turn provide a sense of stewardship over the land once the park is created and student's ideas have been built into the park. Creating learning projects with educational institutions will also help our charity with the strategy to buy the land through showing the value of our environmental education programme before we create the park. 

You will have a significant impact on the creation of a new biodiverse community-owned park with free access natural swimming ponds. By volunteering in this role, you will help shape the future of East London Waterworks Park as a community-led environmental learning space.
